Maybe they were coming home from a service station with gas for their lawn mower... that'd be ironic.

Wheres the rest of the video? Where the guys goes to get a soda, the mower get's to the middle, chews through the pole, takes off through the hedge and down to road to freedom?

Slower than a tractor with a slasher or grass cutter, but faster than the little motorised weed trimmers or a (small) motor mower. Also, as @griefer_queafer says, gets you a free workout!

I'd take the old Cub Cadet, that is a real lawn tractor, not a newer mamby pamby mower. Shame to see it treated like that.

I would think a side by side ATV would be more practical... my guess is this is probably indeed a riding mower of some type.
