More likely they hit a mosquito, but they have the very best training in telling people to move along, so they have that going for them.

Also O-, and wife is A something. I rarely get bit, while my wife is practically carried off. Oh and I'm 6'4" and 250lbs, I'm nearly twice her size....I'm guessing the science is just beginning to scratch the surface on how mosquitoes select their targets. Interesting.

I used to get lots of swelling and extreme itch from a normal mosquito bite, but after living in Thailand for 7 years and getting much more frequent exposure (read: I get bit a lot more here than I did in near-desert Kansas, which isn't that surprising), my reactions to mosquito bites seem to be a lot smaller than they used to be.

Do we develop a tolerance/lessening in allergic reactions to mosquito saliva with frequent exposure?

As mentioned at the very end, bats are much better at getting rid of mosquitoes than any method we've ever come up with. And they're fun to watch as well.
