Happiness Is Around The Bend By ASD (1st Assembly 2010)
I thought it was impressive and meshed together pretty well.
Lagao multiphysics looks awesomely real
Some, very likely yes. The more complex stuff (particle meshing, etc) will be pre-computed.
I didn't expect to see this video here. Quite a few XSI/Softimage users are eagerly awaiting this. I know I am.

Looks sweet. Is it real-time?
BBC - The Link - Uncovering Our Earliest Ancestor
I don't believe it. It doesn't mesh up with the whole Adam and Eve story which God tells us is TRUE per the Bible. Heck. The 10 Commandments were written on stone rather than a digital storage device. 6000 years ago such highly efficient devices didn't exist... and God simply wanted to make sure he used the highest technological medium for the day. Stone and Chisel.
Why such a highly impractical. Highly immobile. Prone to shattering. Difficult to reproduce. Material? Well... to spread his word to the global masses in as SLOW and UNRELIABLE a method as possible via word of mouth. Through illiterate sheepherders who were likely more interested in populating their flock of 'sex sheep' than increasing the religious flock. All to support some invisible dude in the sky with a resurrected zombie son (who is supposedly God himself), who unbelievably claims to walk on water. Any wise man would have simply used a fucking raft to cross a damn body of water. But. He just had to show off didn't he?! The fucker.
Close-Up Footage of Mavi Marmara Passengers Attacking IDF

There is NO excuse for a modern military to fire on civilians! Especially in a situation like this. Israel acted in it's typical violent and childish manner.
Also, I'm not sure what the source of this video is, but it doesn't seem to mesh very well with the other Russian News clips.
Of course when any one picks up knives and pipes, it goes without saying that they cannot be classified as civies. Even in defense of their own lives! That is the differnce between civies and others... You want sympathy---die for your cause without a weapon! Unless, of course, I could meet your family on the sidewalk carrying a implement of death and threaten them with it, use it on them, and tell the police "these are international sidewalks, and they had some CS foam!" (Yes, that last part was silly )
Of course I could not do that without being shot by the police... Or the military. You call them civies, everyone else calls them guerillas...

F16 Ingests Bird Shortly After Take-off, Crashes Soon After

Now that i think of this, why dont they put some sort of metal mesh before the turbine to prevent foreign objects from entering. Surely, even one bird caught by this mesh would pay itself off.
Or am i overlooking something very obvious?
I asked that exact question on youtube months ago and one of the answers I got is that when your going at speeds needed to fly, a screen will only slice up the bird/object, it still goes into the engine. although Personally I think it would help, although airflow would be lost as well it seems to work for radiators.

Unlimited Detail: Potential Next-Gen Graphics Technology?
I work at a game development studio, so you can imagine there was quite a bit of debate and doubt about this video and the technology. At the very least, what you have here is what seems to be a relatively efficient point cloud viewer.
I mean, I don't think anybody would ever think that a point cloud based technology would ever replace the gaming technology that has developed, it's more a case of technological amalgamation.
I think its obvious that you would never use the point cloud as a raw source for your collision data etc. I ultimately envision this kind of point cloud technology being used as a visual proxy, whose collision will still be defined by a low res polygon mesh. I think its application would ultimately be restricted to static and non deforming objects within a game, but this would require some kind of mixed rendering pipeline, and the technicalities of that are well beyond my area of expertise so I don't know if that would even be possible.
I agree that selling this technology as some kind of holistic game development solution is total snake oil, but I still think that there could be some exciting potential use of point clouds in gaming tech in the future.

Female Wolf Spider With Babies
There's nothing quite as scary as actually seeing something big and dark out of the corner of your eye and then finding out one of them is crawling around on the wall, or under your desk. I live in Queensland, Aus, and we see big wolf spiders like these fairly often, they come in the house if you don't have fine mesh on all the windows.
The Neverending Story (1984) Inama Nushif
>> ^Hybrid:
Great music, classic film. But I don't think this song was in The NeverEnding Story.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inama_Nushif
No, The music is a completely separate thing from the film. Not presented as "music from the film", but as a fan vid created with That particular piece of music being used to illustrate the movie The Neverending Story. They mesh quite nicely.

Glitterbillies - Glitta Who
I guess they are on the up'n-up though I suppose the image needs some work. They look like a start-up group with a bunch of self promotion going on. The music is alright but yes, the cowboy image and the rapper image doesn't mesh well.

NEW- CLASH of the TITANS preview (awesome)
Who does the music on that song? I love metal symphonic meshing.
