Sorry to say but I do detest the Cohens. Vastly overrated and seemingly incapable of developing characters or vaguely interesting scripts. Some of their direction is good so maybe they should stick to that rather than developing films.
Anyone catch the ending of Old Country or whatever it's called? Absolutely rubbish and typically contrary behaviour.
They really haven't done a decent film since Raising Arizona.

Typical internet "opinion-wielder" who can freely tell you how much he hates something but is utterly ill-equipped to explain the reasons why. It's rather humorous.

Sometimes it's ok to have an opinion without having to back it up. Things like movies really don't need much of a reason, it's just how the person feels about it. Having said that, if I'm really passionate about something, I would probably want to know a good reason why, but sometimes there isn't one

The ability to explain yourself has the effect of validating an opinion, whether people agree with it or not. I'm far more interested in hearing why Deano hates the Coen Brothers than hearing how much he hates them. I may never agree but at least he'll have exhausted due diligence. Additionally, I don't see how Deano's feelings will be negatively affected. In fact, if Deano were to properly articulate himself I think he'd find his own opinion will have been fortified, not diminished.

And as a bonus, I may get a new perspective on the Coen brothers.

I'll never be uninterested in hearing someone explain why they possess "opinion x." That is, in fact, the reason why we should expect a full explanation: because we're interested. I'm interested in hearing Deano's views on Fargo. How Marge Gunderson is a poorly fleshed-out character. Or why he thinks the last scene of No Country was such a failure. I want to know why he thinks the themes of Barton Fink are so ineffective. If we let him off the hook, then nothing of substance gets shared. Just empty words, utterly bereft of substance.

So I think that attitude is quite defeatist, Alien.

As a preemptive retort, "because they suck" and the like will not at all count as a proper articulation of "why" the Coen brothers are bad storytellers. Just so you know. If you didn't go to school then at least pretend like you did.

Did I just get really elitist at the end there? Oh well. I'll survive. And so will Deano.

And consider the characters in TV shows. The females are mostly "straight men" (so to speak) for the funny male characters. Take Two and a half Men, for example: the hot woman (Claudia, I think) is not funny, and usually neither is the effeminate guy (Alan). Most of the good lines are reserved for Charlie Sheen's character, the boy, and the fat ugly woman (Roberta). Again, in that stupid Jim Belushi show, the two hot wives never make the jokes. Women don't even seem to have any funny parts written for them on TV unless it's called The <woman's name> Show. Even in cartoons, Lisa and Marge Simpson, all the women on Family Guy, maybe Lou-Ann on King of the Hill...

I haven't seen a really funny woman since Much Ado About Nothing. And even then, they're not delivering it like it's comedy.

If you are going to use the bible as your moral cumpus then your pretty much fucked. for one thing its not constant and its easily open to interpretation what it actually says. its allso very clear that its as likely to be the word of god as any of the other religious books out there which is not very.


to use marrige as a bench mark for who you have sex with is a bit stupid , but at the same time just sleeping with annyone can be quite risky.

there is nothing stopping people shagging and still having something more meaningful and romantic as well especaily if they use protectoin and are carfull about it.

the whole marge thing makes sense when there is no contraception or protection against STD,S and having kids is a 1-10 chance of sex , obviously as it would be unfair for a child to have no parents.

This is why going by the bible is stupid , It was written in a time when there was no contraception and people could not control when they had kids.

by perpetuating this whole no sex before marriage thing you end up with more trouble u end up with girls taking it up the ass more or doing strange sexual things that are of more risk and should only be undertaken by sumone with exsperance and alot of confidence as to what they want or know what they are doing and the risks.

The only message should be ONLY HAVE SEX WITH SUM ONE THAT "YOU" RELAY WANT TO don't be pressured into it or feal that you have to. also only do it after having discussed it with them and once you relay know that person.

having said that im sure there are people who want to just go out and have a quick fuck if that's ohnislty what they want and they make that clear to the person they want to fuck then i dont have a problem with it so long as they ware protectoin and reduse STD pregnancy as much as possable.

Well waiting for marge before sex is as bad as having sex at a young age. the realty is alot of people r so desperate for a shag that thay buld it up and then thay get married when thay dont actualy realy love eachother and then end geting dvorced. this is why RELIGOIN is so shit it just packages compleat crap along with reason.

1) dont have sex unlesss u realy like the girl and trust them
