Percussionist gets walloped with a flying mallet

Bird hits window (twice)

newtboy says...

I grew up in a 90% glass house in a forest.
This happened daily when birds tried to fly through the invisible walls.
It was a jump scare every time when the wall suddenly gonged like they’d been hit with a mallet, drawing your attention to the often fluttering bird dropping.
I loved that house, but hated it every time that happened. 🙁

don't get to call anyone
foolish - giving money to a 'billionaire'
or
a tool - Jan 6 was a sea of mallet heads
(used for dirty work)
nor
imply others are more malleable than themselves (inspired to meaningless violence, told to 'guard' ballot boxes - like toothless people trying to chew gum - actively ignoring the plethora of graft (& other crimes), while listening to hate mongers trying to gaslight all the criminal/obnoxious/thuggish behavior. is enough to make baby Jesus cry.

that and PHAWK nuzz 🦜
is the height of unearned arrogance.

Not surprising you can’t tell poorly modeled fantasy from reality, you’ve had that issue for years.

Also, yes, even as an npc he beats Trump with a heavy mallet any day and twice on Sunday. Today Trump admitted making $1.6 Billion off the presidency (not including salary) while most of his businesses were hemorrhaging money....and that doesn’t include his secret Chinese account for accepting and offering bribes, nor the secret Russian account for accepting and offering bribes, or any of the others. Most came from sources outside the US, although hundreds of millions were swindled from people just like you too.

Are you just waiting for March 4th with great anticipation? Prepare for more disappointments.

It's all up to Francois Hollande now. Matteo Renzi is reasonably angry at how Germany is handling this shit, and France + Italy might just be enough to rein in the hardliners in Germany/Finland. If Hollande doesn't go into open opposition against Schäuble et al tonight, Grexit becomes inevitable.

Luckily though, my neighbours found some fitting stone plates at an abandoned(?) house to finally finish a spot in their backyard. I'll be over there the rest of the afternoon, pounding those plates into place with a rubber mallet.

Edit: Also, fuck the social democrats for turning on the people again.

12 Bar Blues - Piano Duet with Peter the Elephant

Cool --

I've never been to that particular place (in Ayutthaya Thailand), but I've seen elephants actually playing an oversized xylophone-type instrument at the elephant training center / hospital in Lampang Thailand, a couple hours from my home.

Those elephants could play a simple melody, given a mallet held in the trunk and an instrument large enough to accommodate their trunk dexterity. I didn't see the mahouts / handlers exerting any sort of direct control over them while they were playing, so I think that they remember the songs, timing, etc. all internally. This elephant bobbing along with the music suggests that they have rhythm and an innate enjoyment of the music, also.

I got a better one: Roll-type-caps, they still sell those, right?...for cap guns?

Take a roll or two-at-a-time, place on concrete ends-out, bash with mallet or the end/tip of a baseball bat. *NOTE: If using a baseball bat, hold the bat with one hand firmly by placing the knob of the bat in the center of your strongest hand and from about a foot above the caps, bring the bat's barrel-end down directly on the cap rolls.

One rolls' as loud as a .38 caliber round, two, a .45......Wear ear protection.

This dart-cap is lame and impractical, and destroys perfectly good darts, AND, there is no thrill from the smell of gunpowder, simply a lingering sulfur stink complete with lame "pop!"

Magnet Screws Fasten Invisibly

grinter says...

Bet it's a bitch when you want to take something apart and they get stuck.
...really, what is the point? Screws are good because 1) you can really torque them down to hold joints tightly, which does not look possible with the magnoscrew, and 2) because these strong joints are easily disassembled.
If you don't want to take the thing apart, use dowels, a mallet and some glue - cheaper, stronger, and fewer moving parts. If you want to take the thing apart, bite the bullet and use a regular screw, cause mangoscrew is going to get stuck.
