Hitchhiker Gives Psycho An Ax To The Head

iaui says...

Sounds like the 'crazy psycho' was having a bad LSD trip... I mean, that doesn't make him any less of a crazy psycho, considering he was clearly endangering people, but the entire happening just sounds like a guy having a bad trip. Perhaps he didn't even know he was on LSD. Who knows how that happened... I mean, I wonder how this guy in a car could be dosed. It's not like he was picking up random hitchhikers. Oh... Kai said he had just been hitchhiking and was picked up by the guy.

TL;DR: Okay, crazy psycho is clearly a crazy psycho who needed to be stopped, but Kai is definitely a sketch case. My guess is it comes out that Kai dosed him for some reason and then the guy went nuts and had to be stopped.

What you seem to be saying is that you generally agree with the choices the U.S. has made, and that you disagree with the choice China has made in this case.

I personally find many forms of gambling offensive, so struggle to argue for it... I only brought it up because it is a case where U.S. law is out of step with other countries. That said though, what is the real difference between a room full of poker machines (legal) and an on-line version which could conceivably even be running the same software (illegal in the U.S., but subject to a WTO complaint)? The difference, in my opinion, is one of control. In the case of gambling, the U.S. government has made a choice to outlaw what they can't control, just like the Chinese government has done for religion and/or spiritual movements.

The acceptability of public nudity varies from place to place, but I find it hard to think of a way it harms anybody. In fact the naturist movement is quite pro public nudity. You are used to it being unlawful, but this is far from universal. Should it be outlawed in places it's currently legal just because you are offended? Even if they are far from your home and you are unlikely to actually go there to be offended?

Speaking of drugs, why have we chosen to allow alcohol and tobacco, both of which cause huge amounts of harm, and yet outlaw marijuana and LSD? Who made that choice?

Falun Gong is a meditative practice. It involves no nudity, no harassment, no physical contact and literally nothing that could offend anyone in public. It doesn't cause harm to the people who practice it and poses no threat to anyone who observes it. There is absolutely no logical reason to ban it.

Gambling, drugs, public nudity, etc, are not valid comparisons because they are either potentially harmful (financially or physically) or generally offensive (most people are against public nudity because the average body is not appealing to look at). A meditative practice that you perform in the privacy of your own home or with others who share your beliefs isn't analogous to any of those things.

Again, if you want a valid comparison, you should compare Falun Gong to a religion. In the U.S., there is no ban against any religion. Actually, gay marriage is an example that could work in your favor. There are no victims as a result of gay marriage (though the long-term effects of having gay parents hasn't been well-researched) so the ban isn't really justified. And while it is indeed banned in many states, the government isn't sending gay couples to prison camps and you won't be arrested for trying to get married if you're gay. The state just won't allow it.

So when you consider the crime and the punishment, there is no U.S. equivalent of how China is dealing with Falun Gong.

Now tell me-Where did the Beatles get their lyrics for Lucy in the Sky? Formby re-wrote lyrics to his tune, "When I'm Cleaning Windows" in 1956 when he took part in some LSD experiments concocted by the UK.

Integrating Psychedelics into Our Culture

shagen454 says...

One would have to be absolutely clinically insane or severely Serotonin deficit (but would that not be the same as clinically "insane"?) if they did not enjoy MDMA / MDA. I can understand why people would not be interested in DMT. It shows one just how little they & we (the general world) know. Comparing MDMA to DMT is like comparing a catholic preacher to a Quantum Mechanics genius that lives on another planet we haven't even visited yet that has lived for millions of years and thinks your ignorance (Not you personally TC, I know you know) is fucking hilarious.

Serious research must be done. The fact that such an extreme divide even exists should be reason enough. I think the American institution must be pathologically insane for even having done so little in the field or else they have and KNOW that society would change for the better and we obviously can't have that happening, now can we?

If everyone starts smoking DMT, now, humanity might evolve to harbor the first generation of telepathic children. Who fucking knows? Whatever the fuck it is, it has been used for ages, it is not Earth like, and it feels like the real "reality", it feels like the future. Though it is apart of everything and every time that has ever existed. It looks a way that I would never ever be able to describe with puny, puny, puny, puny human words. And I used to think LSD was beautiful. PSH!

SMOKE DMT NOW. LOTS OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! POUNDS OF IT

Promsing research on Ecstasy (MDMA) in the treatment of PTSD

vaire2ube says...

LSD can treat alcoholism ... MDMA for PTSD ... Ibogaine for opiates ... Hey, if someones idea of recreational use is taking psychotropic drugs, more power to them cause I dont want to. Their experiences are valuable data, and their stories are entertaining... better than talking to a drunk for sure

In November 2012, a Medical Marijuana facility in Israel announced a new strain of the plant which only has Cannabidiol as an active ingredient, and virtually no THC. This new strain gives the benefits of Medical Marijuana with none of the side-effects associated with being "high"

WHY isnt my country doing this research?? Blocking our research but funding a country that performs its own while not being able to share in the results... what in the hell is going on

Cannabidiol is unscheduled in the US. However tetrahydrocannabinols, both naturally and synthetically occurring, are currently classified under Schedule I of the US Controlled Substances Act ... SO IS THE PLANT ILLEGAL? OR JUST INGESTING IT? CAN WE GROW HEMP OR NOT????

Also the patent on cannabidiol that the US govt has through the dept of health and human services, granted in 2003 ... they are saving it for pharmaceutical companies, no laymen can grow a plant and use it... sickening...a crime that effects us all, user or not.

Hemp alone for pulp alone would be a huge boon to our economy, but nooooo, lets log wood for pulp??? Every level of cannabis prohibition smacks of ignorance and ulterior motives. Im tired of it. I live in WA state, and we proved it this year.

I knew somebody that jumped out a window on LSD. Drugs are fun and all, but the story here is that there is a treatment for PTSD, not that recreational use of MDMA or anything else is suddenly a good idea.
The doctors and academics aren't "assholes." There are just more important things to do than rationalize your psychedelic experimentation. We don't know how the brain works in a stable state, let alone after you fuck with it royally.
Also, just so you are aware of how bad your information is, a quick google scholar search for dimethyltryptamine 2012 yielded over 2000 results. Man, these assholes need to get crackin'!

fuckballs on the mimosa! that sucks!!
have you tried acacia confusa?

You are right. I only know of one person that continues to study DMT and that is Rick Strassman, unfortunately. DMT really needs to be studied, it is like an antenna into other dimensions. I would never be able to describe the 4d, holographic, complex, ornate, alien worlds I have flown through with my eyes closed. Those are just some words that do not come close to a description.

To me what matters is that our society reevaluates its stance on drugs and medicine. So many illegal drugs are harmless and non addictive. They used to say that MDMA would put holes in your brain and that LSD would make one jump out of a window. Its all bullshit. Right now I can no longer get DMT because the DEA decided to bust distribution of mimosa hostilis. What right do they have?

Now these assholes just need to study DMT to unlock the mysteries of our minds and the universe

I think academia, which is often ruled by the ego and is based on a competitive system, is ill able to really delve into psychedelics, which pretty much requires at least the start of ego death and the base awareness that the ego is the primary limiting factor in conscious development.
