Charlie Sheen's Video Message to President Obama

L0cky says...

Good job Charlie Sheen.

It's nice to see a 9/11 questions video that cuts through all of the conspiracy bullshit and summarizes genuine unanswered questions that should have been covered in the 9/11 report.

Regardless of the conspiracy theorists there should still be an unimpeded independant investigation. I'm not sure why anybody wouldn't expect or encourage that.

The budget for the Monica Lewinski sex scandal investigation was $6.2 million and $3 million was set aside for the non independant 9/11 investigation. Crazy

Is This Change?

The Lewinsky scandal was exposed by the intertubes as was Obama's socialist medi-scheme.
Even while still controlling Hollywood and government schools via teachers' unions, talk radio and intertubes have really "leveled the playing field" in terms of content. Welcome to competition, libs!

100 Mill Spent Investigating Clinton But Only 4 Mill On 911

Diogenes says...

although i find it hard not to respect mr. ventura, i think his numbers are a bit off... or misleading

the total costs of the investigation he's referring to also include years' worth of whitewater investigations begun under independent counsel robert fiske -- ken starr replaced him, and then further investigations were tacked on... namely travelgate, filegate, and finally the paula jones civil suit leading to the breaking of the lewinsky story...

the total pricetag for seven years of multiple investigations? approximately 70 to 80 million

let's also keep in mind that it wasn't 'clinton getting a blowjob' that incurred these expenses, rather that there were shady land deals, as well as questionable firings of whitehouse travel staff, and improper access of fbi files... being investigated parallel to his sexual harrassment case while arkansas governor - the latter led to lewinsky... and it was then that clinton was charged with PERJURY and OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE.... not just getting a bj

the cost of the lewinsky portion of the investigation, and that which caused the two above charges, is estimated at 6.7 to 7.2 million dollars

the total cost of the 9-11 investigation was 12 million dollars... 3 million initially allocated, and another 9 million of a requested 11 million allocated later

besides a little trouble with the numbers... still, i think mr ventura makes his point

Wait ... I just checked. Clinton wasn't impeached

You must not have checked very well, because Bill Clinton was formally impeached by the House of Representatives on December 19 - 1998 in HR 611 with the charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. As far as I can determine, Bill Clinton was never once charged by congress with having 'sex' with Monica Lewinsky. All charges and impeachement articles stemmed from his rather famous lies under oath.

Neolibs try to minimize the reality, but if George Bush was brought into a hearing and lied under oath about so much as whether he chewed his fingernails they would want him impeached and/or prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The whole Scooter Libby charges were the same exact thing. Libby lied under oath about the Plame thing & got convicted for perjury even though he had committed no crime. That's the thing about perjury. It doesn't matter what you lie about. It just matters that you lied under oath.

$15M in ads from WH propaganda group try to make 911=Iraq

Damn, I might have to donate so I can get enough points to promote. I'm glad they spent more on this ad campaign than the 9/11 Commission. http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,437267,00.html

Both of which are eclipsed by the spending for the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal. http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1999/04/01/counsel.probe.costs/

Really shows where our priorities are. Because who is having sex with who is WAY more fucking important than knowing who wants to kill us (USA) and why. Fucking A, B, and C this is angrying up my blood. I'll be in the Angry Dome if anyone needs me.

Dear Texas, (Election Talk Post)

Farhad2000 says...

Am not at all surprised she won Texas and Ohio, these states are very conservative and far more reluctant to vote for someone like Obama. I read an interesting analysis that stated that the more a voter knows about the campaigns the more willing he is to vote for Obama over Hillary, the vice versa holds true as well.

Clinton seems safe, besides the Lewinsky scandal most folks have a positive impression of Clinton years, no thanks to the economy boom that just happened to occur then.

I personally dislike the Clintons, they play just as dirty as the republicans, Clinton just could lie to you better then Bush can. This is the same person who went ahead and bombed Serbia bypassing the UN. Which is no better then Bush.

Purely on policy stances Obama and Clinton do not differ much at all, what we are voting for is character now. Compare how Obama handles himself and how Clinton does - the weeping tears stunt that somehow snowballed into a feminist voting block, the smear attacks such as the plagiarism thing against Obama. In this regard I admire the way Obama has conducted himself so far, his ability to create immense feelings of hope and change through rhetoric is especially admirably, even when he doesn't really say anything specific.

Between both of them however they don't really signal too much of a radical change from the Bush whitehouse, both candidates promise to reduce and not withdraw forces from Iraq. Both will probably support occupation status the likes of South Korea. Both are pro-Isreali candidates which would mean cooperation with Iran and Syria is probably out of the question. Both I believe will be middle of the road and centrist, nothing radical will happen, unlike Kunnich, Gravel or Paul.

Obama still has a numerical advantage on the number of delegates I believe, so it's not over yet. The magical unity pony might still make it.
