We Believe: The Best Men Can Be - Gillette Ad
Damn it, why isn't this show on anywhere? I loved Kung Fu, and we could really use some of the lessons it tried to teach right about now.

Kung Fury was amazing.
Alita: Battle Angel - Official Trailer
Seems like there is a little too much impossible camera work going on. I suppose you could argue that's an artistic choice, and maybe the nature of trailers exaggerates it, but I definitely agree with the impression that it's got that video-gamy, early 2000's CGI vibe to it.
And bug eyes is definitely just creepy. The anime thing doesn't work on this side of the uncanny valley.
All the same... big-budget action, sci-fi kung-fu fighting future-cyborgs... meh, I'll see it more or less by default.
The whole thing has that "bad cgi" vibe where everything feels weightless.
Not for me.

To each his (or her) own. Humor is subjective.
Ok, yes, they got heavy handed at times. I gave them leeway because they had to figure out how to dub an entire movie out of another one, so I expected a lot of filler. Considering the source material, I thought they did well.
I had the advantage of not seeing it in theaters, so I didn't pay money for it. I do expect more from a movie I spent $15 to see. As a lazy Sunday movie, it was great.
Full disclosure, I watched Saturday Midnight Kung Fu Theater religiously for over a decade, and those movies are mostly awful...so bad they were hilarious too.
Top Secret was funny. This wasn't.
My give up point was the Narrator during the "punch a hole in a guy" scene. It just went on... and on... and on... Much of the movie was like that. "SEE??? HERE IS THE FUNNY THING!!! NOTICE HOW IT'S FUNNY??? IT'S FUNNY!!! HERE!!! RIGHT HERE!!! FUNNY!!! HAHA!!! IT'S A FUNNY THING!!! OK!!! I'LL DESCRIBE IT AGAIN BECAUSE IT'S FUNNY!!! YOU SHOULD BE STILL LAUGHING IT'S SO FUNNY!!! HOW FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY WE ARE!!!"

You must not be a fan of kung fu....or movies like top secret. I am.
I absolutely loved how they did it too, using an existing movie and redubbing and green screening it. I wonder why haven't others done it.
Stupid done right is hilarious.
Really? I walked out of it and went to see Black Hawk Down when it was in the theatres.
Sometimes stupid is just stupid.

Kung POW!
"Batman Ninja" trailer (English language)
Says you. ;-)
I've always been entertained by kaiju movies (until sci-fi channel got involved), in large part because of the terrible dialog and dubbing, but also the dead pan seriousness. When they have tried to be silly, like Godzilla Jr, it always fell flat for me.
As for kung fu, I feel that the bad dialogue adds a needed comedy element often otherwise missing. I thought Kung Pow was hilarious and inventive because of intentionally terrible dubbing.
I do agree, this bastardization has some glaring issues...that doesn't mean it can't still be fun.
But that is because the movie is so bad to begin with. I hate dubs with a passion because most often the voice does not match the actor like originally intended by the director. Also in the case of japan animations, voice acting is a highly competitive career market over there which means there are many top tier actors to choose from. Liscensed dubs on the other hand deal with a lot of frequently contracted actors in a market that isn't bursting with talent.
Also the plot of this animation seems pretty ridiculous. I would have let the batman and joker pass but when everyone else in the batman universe, even the god damn butler, showes up I was like

"Batman Ninja" trailer (English language)
But isn't the awful dubbing 1/2 of what makes Godzilla movies so fun? It certainly makes kung fu movies better.
I've seen a bunch of articles on the internet saying "Finally! an english language trailer for this!"
Is it really that hard to read subtitles? Personally, I think the Japanese version sounds way cooler.
I'm not a big anime fan (I've seen Akira and Ghost in the Shell and that's it). Tried to watch the new Godzilla on netflix and the english voiceover was just awful. Japanese dialogue doesn't work in english.
Honest Trailers - Transformers: The Last Knight
*promote Isn't that the exact plot of The Fate of the Furious? Why is there a kung fu robot butler?

Chicken Attack(中文字幕版)
It's like the public domain kung fu + hilarious CGI and film splices of Kung Pao: Enter the Fist, meets the ridiculous headlining on magazines (at the very end of this clip) from the Spike Jonze/Charlie Kaufman movie Being John Malkovich.
