Environmental Bullshit

bleedingsnowman says...

I took a geology class with a professor who studied gypsum caves in Northern New Mexico and, after collaborating his data with an astrophysicist, developed a theory that the temperature rise on earth was due to the cycling of sun spots that occurs about every 600 years. He is still working on it. But who knows if that one is true either.

I agree with the last sentiment given by Patrick Moore in that we might keep environmentalism in mind in order to improve our methods. Because honestly, would anyone give up their life right now, unless they were forced to? Those kids are at that rally to socialize and conjure up material for poetry chapbooks. That woman who lived in the tree for years was dangling with jewelry. Does she know how's that's mined?

I really detest scare tactics of all kinds. And I think most University activist leaders, spouting this stuff, are just doing it to get laid.

And I consider myself liberal.

"I've got a shotgun. Do you want me to stop 'em?"

Maybe this guy had a bit of redneck in him. Maybe at that moment his life wasn't in real danger...

But the next minute or next day or next month it could have been. We are talking criminals here. Since when do they deserve any rights at all? They're human? No. They're animals. When they turn their backs on the law the law should turn its back on them.

I'm not celebrating what this man did. He seems to be pretty shaken up about it too, but I am so damn tired of criminals having more rights than the rest of us.

Should he have let them walk? No, you say. Why couldn't he just hold the gun on them?
Cause thats in the movies pal. You aim a gun, you prepare to use it else you put yourself in a very dangerous position.

Now I hear the illegals' wives want to sue. I wonder though if we were to walk in their house and take a look at the tv or the jewelry how much of it was hard earned.

These are vermin. Sad life were lost, but better those than that of an innocent person.

Anyone who gets thrilled by this or celebrates the shooting or the punishment of this man is an idiot. Its just a sad situation.

Oh and for the one who said "he chose the messiest and most deadly weapon he could have" ...don't be a fool. Shotguns are just the most common hunting tool and quick. Rather he peg em with a 22 until they stopped moving?

I met my wife while working for Jewelry Television. I wish I could find clips of the knife guy they used to have working on Friday nights. He would go on about Bin Laden lovers. One of the funnier guys I've ever seen on TV.

Another fun use for your Hookah!!

joedirt says...

WTF?! I recommend changing the title before some moron dies because they watched some fake crap on YouTube. Seriously, do not try this at home.

For fuks sake... I know it is called "dry ice" but it really is CO2... You don't breathe CO2 nor live off of CO2. Even if there is alcohol vapour, you will quickly die inhaling CO2 off a hookah.

I could maybe see liquid nitrogen, or one of those electronic ultrasonic jewelry cleaner, that could work. But come on. Inhaling 100% CO2 from a hose??!!

Devdas - Breathtaking visual montage...

Farhad2000 says...

Devdas is a 2002 Bollywood film based on the Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay novella, Devdas.

It was the most expensive Bollywood movie of the time it was made; it had a lavish budget of Rs 1,000,000,000. When it was released in 2002, it was the most expensive Bollywood film ever produced, at a cost of approximately US$22.3 million. It was said that the jewelry and saris weighed the actors down so much that they needed to reorder with clothing and accessories of less weight.

The movie was the biggest box-office grosser of the year. Aishwarya Rai's performance as the sensitive yet haughty Paro, and Madhuri Dixit's as the dancer Chandramukhi were highly appreciated. Shahrukh Khan's performance as the sensitive yet rebellious alcoholic Devdas is often considered one of his best performances yet, and he won a Filmfare Award for his performance.

A musical extract from the movie Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka is one of my favorites. Please check out another Bollywood gem Lagaan.

Taking Advantage of a Robbery to... Shoplift

LadyBug says...

i really want to believe that the customers were SO freaked out that they did the first instinctual thing that came to their mind: get my shit together and run!!

although, the 2nd lady kinda ruins my thinking on that one since she was leaving and then reached back for the jewelry.

and who knows? maybe they actually went back to the store later and returned the items!! *yeah right! i know! )

Man catches burglar on webcams, posts video on Youtube

rembar says...

So basically, this guy set up security cameras in his home and connected them to the internet to notify him when there was motion in the house. When someone actually did break in, he got notified and called the cops. After the robber left and the cops came, he posted the video on youtube to see if anybody could identify him. As of his last update:

"UPDATE 11-22-06 Police have identified the man, and hopefully will catch him this week. Also, some of my belongings have surfaced at local pawn shops. I will be posting information on my webcam setup and how you can set one up soon.

The original story- Dallas, Texas- Home was burglarized on 11-16-06. Here is video footage the guy breaking in and robbing the house. Same guy I assume broke in on 11-09-06. Stole mainly jewelry and small electronics. If you recognize this punk, email me at robbery@hays.net"

The original video, as well as links to more coverage of the same story, can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSuEI377dOc

David Lee Roth Performing Jump - Bluegrass Style

TimothyChenAllen says...

Oh my god I feel old now. "Jump" came out when I was a Sophomore in College. Guys (my brother included) were raiding their mothers' jewelry boxes to wear their necklaces like Dave.

The funny thing is that Dave seemed to take himself a whole lot more seriously back then.

I remember driving around with a cassingle of him doing "California Girls" in my tape deck for weeks on end.

How to make a special place to hide ..... ummm ... money!!!

Drunken Master 2 - First Drunken Fight

daphne says...

In my opinion, this is Jackie Chan's best film.

In this scene, he saves his mother's jewelry from theives...who are really looking for "something else." But he cannot over-power them.

He has been forbidden by his Father to ever use the Drunken style again, but Jackie's mother realizes that he needs to use it in order to win the fight. So, she keeps throwing booze at her son and encouraging him to fight. She's very proud of her son, so she relates to her friends all the different styles Chan uses. It's very funny if you have the subtitles.

This is a FANTASTIC film, so if you've never seen "Drunken Master 2" I highly recommend finding it.

david blaine - coffee into coins

lucky760 says...

I'm actually a fan of the very deceiving tricks of Blaine's (e.g., hand thru the jewelry store window), but it's very obvious that his right hand is bent all the way underneath the cup so his fingers can get a good reach underneath it; it seems most are distracted by the homeless fellow's reaction. Perhaps a nearby coffee vendor was working with Blaine and served up a trick cup of joe just before Blaine approached.
