Miley Cyrus' Video Without the Music is Some Crazy Shit!

The Rolling Stones-Angie

Trout says...

Not to nitpick, but this really shouldn't be tagged as Live Music.

Jagger is lip-synching (nicely), Mick Taylor is fake playing Nicky Hopkins' awesome piano part, and Keith Richards isn't even onstage with the rest of the band (he appears in just a few cutaways). And, of course, there's no audience.

This is one of the promo videos that the Stones shot for the '73 single version of Angie (which is the version of the song we're hearing). Still a really cool video, and nice to have on the Sift.

David Gilmour and David Bowie do Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb

Truckchase says...

I love his new video/song. What has always set Bowie apart is that he can touch some level of humanity present in everyone because he seems very aware of it in himself. At 66, he's not trying to be Mick Jagger, making the same music he did much earlier in his lifetime.

If everyone could learn to continuously evolve in what they do like Bowie, the world would be a much better place.

Dunno man, their two vibes follow a similar groove during their respective hey-days... recognizable textures with the ethereal and lyrical abstractions in-step with the evolution of album-groove at the time...Bowie invariably had long-jam-cuts on hi best albums-He also surrounded himself with cutting edge fringe musicians for special tracks similar to the Floyd crew....Eno...Fripp...Belew......
Bowies the ultimate rock/pop/dance god! His new viddy creeps me out.

Obama says the real Mitt Romney didn't show up to debate

I would expect him to get in gear in the coming debates.

I'm gonna wait until after election day before saying it worked, but I agree, that's the most reasonable explanation for why Obama seemed so unwilling to go on the attack in the debate.
I'm hoping we hear him sound a lot more like this in the next one.
>> ^KnivesOut:
The President gave Mitt Jagger Romney enough rope to hang himself on, knowing that Romney's mouth is his own worst enemy, and it worked.
