Dungeons and Dragons False Link to Devil Worship Explained

MrFisk says...

Does the Bible reduce empathy? Lots of violence.

Actually, kids cause violence because they're kids. And not just any kids, but males. Male teens are responsible for almost 90 percent of violent crimes.

Video games do tend to reduce empathy, but so does any other violent training. Putting your kid into martial arts increases the likelihood they'll get into fights over just walking away, because... kids.

Amen.

Half of the people she walked past were street vendors probably looking to sell something to anyone, not just her.

Kids these days.

you would lose that bet.

look,i dont see anybody here denying that harassment exists and chaos posted that this woman is receiving rape threats from some serious twisted fuckers.

which just boggles my fucking mind.

maybe i am getting too old and no longer get the plot.
maybe the younger generation are so disconnected from each other that ANY form of interaction in real life is viewed as an invasion.(ironic due to just how much more connected we all are nowadays).which is a serious tragedy in my opinion.all those lost opportunities to connect and interact with another human being.

being polite and respectful should never be stigmatized as harassment.

now,as yogi pointed out,if somebodies body language and demeanor reveal a person in thought or not receptive to any interactions, then of course dont interfere in that persons personal space.

but thats not harassment, thats just annoying and rude.the opposite of polite and respectful.

if we are walking down the street and in passing we make eye contact..im gonna acknowledge you, because to me that is being polite.if you pass with your shoulders hunched and your eyes are fixated on the pavement then we shall pass in silence.

now i will make a bet.
i bet attractive people get far more attention in this manner than lesser attractive people.

but if you still feel any interactions from a human being you do not know personally is harassment, then you are dismissing a HUGE factor in what makes us all human.

what a weird perspective.
it appears everyone else has become the "other" to be cautious and fearful of.
i am feeling incredibly old right now.
and sad...........

Cops Protecting and Swerving Down Skateboarders

When bullied kids snap...

Winstonfield_Pennypacker says...

He kept his cool, he attempted to diffuse the situation, he tried to avoid fighting by taking a few hits, and when it became obvious that the assault wouldn't stop, he moved quickly, eliminated the threat in seconds without overdoing it, and calmly walked away. There was simply no better way to handle the situation...

This.

Casey was being assaulted. Little Jerk was not alone. He has a bigger friend as backup, and there were other kids (who may or may not have been Little Jerk's friends/sympathizers) both egging Little Jerk on as well as filming the event. Casey was in a position where he could have been attacked by others. He handled the situation very calmly. Little Jerk had plenty of chances to back off, but wouldn't. Casey sees his opening and puts Little Jerk down in 2 seconds. Casey gets back up, and stands tall as Big Jerk comes forward - but DOESN'T escalate the matter. Some other kid (FINALLY) steps up and intervenes - diffusing the situation. AND CASEY WALKS AWAY LIKE A BOSS.

I find nothing to criticize here. We all prefer non-violence, and it is unfortunate that Little Jerk was clocked so hard. But when you are a skinny guy you have NO BUSINESS picking a fight with someone who has over 25% on you in body mass. I can't fault Casey for his choice to put Little Jerk down fast & hard when Big Jerk is waiting in the wings.

Bullying. It sucks. It happens a lot though, and not just to kids. Bullies need to learn that if they pull this crap they will be slapped down. Problem is in today's society, we don't allow that sort of discipline. But it would be a happier world of the Little Jerk's of planet Earth were regularly and routinely given a solid Casey to the pavement.

Daniel Radcliffe sings "The Elements"

visionep says...

He forgot the very ending:

"These are the only ones of which the news has come to Harvard,
And there may be many others, but they haven't been discovered."

Pretty good though. I wouldn't expect any less from an actor. I guess he's not just a kid that got a lucky part.

The *New* Harry Potter Trailer!

CamW says...

I remember when I first had anything to do with Harry Potter was the first book which I read after the movie adaption had already been released. I would have been about twenty five at the time and it was more curiosity then anything because the series was so damned popular by that stage and not just with kids it seemed. It blew me away for one simple reason. Reading it brought back childhood memories of the books that had captured my imagination when i had been very young. Specifically the works of Roald Dahl in the way they can ignite the imagination and create wonderment without talking down to a child. The way this series of books has had young children lining up at book stores gives me a lot of hope for the future. I love videogames myself so don't take this as an attack on them in anyway but in the world of XBox360s and PS3s I love the fact that millions of kids got excited about a book.
