My understanding is that it is customary to use either the Isthmus of Tehuantepec or the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt is the northerly inland border of north/central America, which, either way, makes a good chunk of Mexico part of central. While Mexico is not considered a "Central American country" since most of it is in North America, everyone I know who lives or grow up in Mexico is of the very clear impression that their country is in both north and central. While I was living in Mexico I flipped through some of the standard elementary curricula, and was surprised that they used the Volcanic Belt as the geographic border, which actually puts DF pretty close to the line.

i didn't know either so i looked it up, as well as why ships are launched broadside. apparently it's the preferred method for inland waters, rivers, etc

I feel it makes up for a couple of his last movies. One of my favorites. Laura Dern deserved an Oscar.

I think she said we have more hurricaines due to "warming ocean temperatures" not "global warming."

if you are in the ocean, the wave is gonna push you up and down a bit. that's all, as far as i know. it's not going to push you much towards shore, you're only little, there's not much to push on, and the wave won't be very high until it gets close to land. so it's pushing up, not shoreward. water isn't actually moving towards the shore, it's just rising and falling. of course when it gets to land it runs out of space and rises up and overtakes itself and produces turbulence underneath and starts to fall/roll over, pushing everything inland. getting hit in the ankles by a small wave on a previously dry street is very different to bobbing up and down on a huge wave out at sea.
