The Julie Ruin - Run Fast (Official Lyric Video)

ulysses1904 says...

On a related note I never did understand why people on YouTube comment sections will get very very upset over how many people may have clicked on the Thumbs Down icon for a video they like. VERY upset to find that there are people in this world who don't like what they happen to like. I guess they call those Thumbs Down people "haters".

Opie needs to get out of Mayberry more often, is all I can say.

7 MYTHS You Still Believe About HISTORY

ulysses1904 says...

This guy is everything I hate about amateur internet videos, especially these endless "everything you know is wrong" videos. I couldn't even stand to watch it, had to scroll down and listen to about half of it before I stopped it.

Along with this giddy condescending tone that's more suited for 8th graders he comes out with empty-headed shit like "this led international scholars to declare that the Soviet Union was the real iconic saviors of Europe during the war". I think even an 8th grader could spot the bad grammar and requisite misuse of the word "iconic".

You got your myths from TV and movies and now look to the internet to clear them up? Read a shelf of books instead.

I just tossed out my Compaq Armada 1585DMT back in 2013. It was my college lappy. It was working well when I booted it up. I laughed at my Windows 95 OS2's animated ST LCAR startup and shut down screens, icons, custom multi-configs for DOS, etc.

Amazing they would claim that Windows 2000 is better at running a web server than Solaris.

And Compaq hardware? We know where that went.

Feminist icon? The superhero whose weakness is mild bondage sessions with men?

And regarding Gal Gadot and her "wrong body type", in today's world, the closest to an Amazon would be an MMA fighter like Gina Carano. I'd be fine with that but I also like Pretzel-flavoured ice cream.

The Simpsons - YOU'RE NEXT

The director of the movie "You're Next" applauded this 'homage'.

So wonderful

The Simpsons’ couch gag has become a great place for innovative filmmakers and artists to show off their take on the iconic nuclear family and the many denizens of Springfield. From the creators of Rick And Morty, to Don Hertzfeldt, Guillermo Del Toro, John K., and many others, all have left their individual stamp on the opening of the classic show and its opening segment. Now another artist has thrown his hat in the ring, albeit unofficially, with a gruesome blending of The Simpsons with Adam Wingard’s film You’re Next.

Lee Hardcastle is an experienced stop-motion animator that has applied his craft to a segment in The ABCs Of Death, a mash-up of Frozen and The Thing, and even a music video for the group Gunship. Now Hardcastle has brought that same off-kilter horror sensibility to his proposed couch gag for Springfield’s first family with a possibly NSFW-ish (due to clay violence and gore) and fairly disturbing short. Hardcastle’s couch gag opens serenely enough before devolving into a home invasion pastiche just like You’re Next—much to the appreciation and applause of Adam Wingard himself. It’s unclear although unlikely that Fox will actually use this couch gag on screen, but maybe it will help boost Hardcastle’s chances for crafting a Treehouse Of Horror intro/segment.

His channel is awesome, his mashup of Disney's Frozen with John Carpenter's The Thing, absolute masterpiece.

Vancouver never plays itself

He makes a point that hollywood cinema never uses Vancouver's many iconic and recognizable views, as that would make it look recognizably not anytown USA. It's a pity as Vancouver is a very photogenic town.

the world is a bit less brighter today (Death Talk Post)

Lurking in the shadows for years I became familiar with many here and many gone. Some stood out for various reasons. Indeed, some that have been through here the last days to remember a good friend. As strange as that still seems to me in this alternate reality online there are those that touch others lives by the power and strength of there essence and do so in a wonderful and warm manner that may be held as rare. schmawy was and is such a being.

I was lucky enough to experience that warmth. He, much to my delighted surprise, responded to posts on his profile page and allowed me to feel a friend and honored of it. I, as others, now wish I had basked more in that light.

Many have left here. I have experienced far more here than I had ever expected and bargained and for that I am thankful. Thank you. When some who have moved on come through and reach out while here I am thrilled. It is with sorrow I cannot look forward to hearing again from my friend schmawy.

I wonder, @dag and @lucky760, and @everyone perhaps, if it might be something to be considered that a memorial to schmawy be devised. Perhaps an icon, a cat in a hat for instance or some such could be issued. One of dag's songs maybe. Perhaps a poll?

In any case, it is notable that schmawy in passing has brought so many here together as did he when he was here.

Playlist and bookmark icons are now available on the front page, bottom-right of the expanded video embed.

Still need to address the missing channel description (per @Zawash) and need to move the playlist and bookmark icons on the single-video page (out of the header).
