It's not always stupid though, sometimes it's misplaced trust and dishonesty. This isn't a debate I normally enjoy but a week or two ago I ran across a couple of fairly bright kids who had their heads filled with nonsense from one of these groups.

As far as I'm concerned people can believe anything that they want to, it's when they mislead others and lie to push their ideas that I get irritated. I explained the difference between common and scientific use of the term "theory", hypothesis, and that type of thing and walked them through a few things with the help of videos by potholer54 and cdk007, I think they might be ok.

But damn, there's a lot of other kids out there being lied to and confused as well. If they can't get their biblical message out without repeated violations of their own 9th Commandment, thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor, then they might want to give some real thought to exactly what cause they are serving.

If the outright lies about what science said would end so would my interest in the subject.

Shame that Hovind will never watch this video, comment on it, or learn why he is mistaken. This is because he doesn't care that he is mistaken, he's just looking for quotes from genuine scientists that he can take out of context and use to further his anti-science agenda.

Educational subtext is there yes.

I don't want to overlap with for instance an O'relliy or Olberman rant (or for that matter Colbert or Stewart), they have their lies/news/latenight channels, but a longer interview with anyone important enough would qualify.

Some of those god-awful "lectures" by Ken Ham or Kent Hovind are also welcome, even if they usually require a * lies too.

Should I just keep interviews out of the channel? I think it may be getting a bit too widely defined already.

I just sat through a Hovind lecture. It's great sci-fi. The religious explanation is even more complex than the scientific explanation. Including under-ground reservoirs of flood water and a layer of water above the sky.
