You Tube - "Religious Fanaticism In Society" - Compilation

Kerotan says...

First Jewish person: Ok, I don't get the arguments of either side there, I don't know what the people were on the street for to begin with, but that sort of hatred and the wishing of death on people is just wrong. Wishing for them to be dead and for their children to piss on their bones? That's not loving, compassionate or right in any sense of the words.
Ahh, Israel vs Palestine... what a happy, fun loving set of people they all are. All those people wishing death on each other. Isn't it grand?
Oh those absolutely disgusting Christians spouting hate and vitriol to children in regards to a children's book. The Harry Potter books are about acceptance of others, they speak of the racism and religious persecution, and that might be why these horrible, narrow minded people are scared of them. Because they say that maybe everyone isn't so damn different, that perhaps people can believe in different things as long as you LET THEM. Don't FORCE your beliefs on people, ESPECIALLY NOT CHILDREN. You're scaring and scarring them for life.
Bush doesn't see the issues in mixing religion and government, and that made him one scary, and terrible leader.
The Westboro Baptist church: A church built on the hatred of one man, and almost entirely peopled by his deluded offspring. Horrible person who is small minded, full of rage, full of hate, and just needs to spout hate to feel alive. Pity them and their lack of people able to live full lives of joy, because they spend all their time being angry.
Haggard and the gay hooker: I don't know HOW people can continue to follow ANY church that has things like this happen. They spend all their time being told that homosexuality is WRONG and SINFUL and disgusting, and yet the LEADER of said church is gay. They have such self loathing for being gay because they believe it to be wrong... but they can't see that the act of being gay, or having feeling towards someone of the same sex IS NOT IN ANY WAY WRONG. What harm does it do? NOTHING.
Religion having any baring AT ALL on scientific eduction is WRONG WRONG WRONG. It is disgusting that it has been allowed to have ANY influence AT ALL.
Trying to suggest that America was founded as a relgious, and christian nation, and in any way created to destroy any other religions IS DISGUSTING AND FALSE. The founding fathers of America saw it as a place TO AVOID persecution. That everyone was FREE TO BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANTED. As long as you do not try to force your religious beliefs on anyone else, then you can believe anything you like.

So, great video for showing all this... And if you're going to say "Hey, why don't they show the pastor from Obama's church at then end too"... well, do we have Obama bringing him up on a stage anywhere and espousing his views as being fantastic and being a great leader? Do we? We have a lot of him denouncing him... I don't know of any doing the opposite.

Good, but I think your wrong on the bush thing, from what I got from his barely coherent ramblings, the idea of a god that he suggested was one that was more akin to an Einstein type god, not one that watches us to see if we have been bad or good, like santa.

That's my interpretation.

Canada: Sarah Palin appeals to the White Trash Vote

Januari says...

You know... I think the article is horrible personally... i despite the woman... and this she is a joke... but that article does nothing to help... in only makes her supporters more fervent...

The other thing is... You'd think with their priminister just disolving parliment for politcal motives... she'd have been a little more worried about that...

Sarah Palin's daughter pregnant!

Evolution Vs Creation (Check Out The "Amazing" Facts)

12819 says...

Totally bogus. We are promised ten incontrovertible pieces of evidence that evolution is wrong, yet all of them hinge on believing the Bible is something more than a dietary guide.

The first minute is a set of testimonials (from people who don't sound very highly educated). Science isn't really the result of a plebiscite. It isn't like the law, either, where you are right until proven wrong.

The bottom line is that no self-respecting scientist would claim that evolution is the ONLY explanation of how we got here - but as far as the evidence goes, so far it is the BEST explanation. If it turns out to be wrong, then ID still has to be supported by evidence - it isn't automatically correct.

Then the narrator spends four minutes telling us we will hear the facts, and we should judge for ourselves. She claims the Bible is completely trustworthy, based on archaeological a prophetic evidence - except it is not. Sure there is some archaeological evidence, but let's see the evidence for the Garden of Eden. Parts of it are clearly historical, but parts seem to be diet restrictions, more than anything. As for prophecy, go ask the Late Great Hal Lindsey about that.

The film goes on to paint God as a rather horrible person, causing most all the suffering and tragedy on earth. This is an interesting concept in itself. The purpose seems to be to threaten you into believing their line of reasoning (NOT making up your own mind!), or incurring His wrath.

The film uses the long-disproven watch-watchmaker argument, now in terms of a creation-creatOR argument. As for the $250,000 prize that hasn't been claimed, I'll give $1 million to anyone who can offer a shred of evidence that the Bible is the word of God. But _I_ get to be the judge, and you can forget about me accepting your evidence. The fact Dr. Hoven doesn't ACCEPT the evidence doesn't mean it's not there.

When Darwin visited the Galapagos islands 150 years ago, he cataloged seven species of finches there. Now, in just a century and a half, there are thirteen species on the islands, all native - definite PROOF of new species. But, of course this is ignored by the video.

Finally, the very act of referring to the "Myth of Evolution", the film is putting conclusions into our minds, just what the first four minutes said it would NOT do - we were supposed to make up our own minds, remember?

A Chilling Account: Stabbed and Beheaded on Greyhound Bus

If he's criminally insane, he and we would also be better off putting him to sleep. Use the "freebie" to test the equipment (joking...I think).
Mercy for the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.

Or, you know, treat his psychosis if he has indeed suffered a psychotic break.

It'll be for people involved in the case to decide if he falls under mental defect or not and the case will run accordingly, but you cannot hold a person responsible for what occurs during a break beyond consigning them to treatment until such time as they are deemed fit again.

To do anything else would be cruel.

Edit: And the comments on the end of previously linked news article prove my point...

The amount of knee jerking going on is understandable but is driven purely from emotion. For all we know the murderer may just be a soulless bastard who deserves to die or just some poor bastard who for whatever reason snapped. Seems strange that, if he was such a horrible person, he doesn't have a criminal record...

Manufacturing Dissent: Michael Moore and Roger Smith

Kreegath says...

Michael Moore the liar.
I didn't know much about him, or his work, other than that there were people saying he was making stuff up. To be honest, I simply disregarded the critique as a smear campaign by fringe groups who felt targeted by Moore. After all, his films were marketed as documentaries and not fiction, fantasy and/or drama. However, after seeing stuff like this and actually trying to listen to what the people giving him critique are saying, there does in fact seem to be some truth to the claims about him.
I find him despicable, a horrible person who shouldn't get to poison people's minds with his fabrications ever again. Yes I'm hurt by the lies he told and I foolishly believed.

Hugh Laurie: Folk Song with no Answers

Pointless trivia: I didn't know it at the time, but in the episode of Friends where Rachel is flying to England to stop Ross's wedding, Hugh is the passenger sitting next to her who tells her she's a horrible person. (And he is right.)

something ive come across many, many, many times (its a fairly common theme). why, just why does religion get special dispensation as an "idea" or w/e you want to call it. how come muslim/christian/jew "bashers" give athiests a bad name?
suppose i pointed out how much i disagreed with say, communism. that i think its so totally open to corruption that it could never reasonably work to its true intent in any country. most likely id find some who agree with me, some who don't and thats that. im not despised or called a horrible person for disliking it.
BUT should someone say, point out the fact that its physically impossible beyond all reason, belief or otherwise that 1 man, 1 woman and 3 sons could build a boat of massive proportions. stock it with untold numbers of animals (who all behaved very nicely together, thank you very much.) FEED and water all said animals for over a month and that the entirety of the globe was covered in water for such a time is so preposterous as to be absurd. should someone point this out they are called out as being "hateful" and biased and who knows what else. someone explain to me just why these 3 groups are untouchable by comment, critique or questioning.

Poorly written "Cancer" essay

rottenseed says...

Well, I'm a horrible person, but all of the examples I saw on this page including the original video were hilarious to me. I think what makes this video funny, though, is that it is read with no accent, so the poor English comes off sounding like a stupid person wrote it.

gorgonheap says...

Ok, EVERYONE will hate me for downvoting, but I'm sorry I just can't upvote it. I watched it several times and it didn't make me laugh (I don't know why I can see the humor too.) and just about any bloke with a camera and a couple stab music clips can do this. I know I'm a horrible person and hell hath no furry like animal lovers scorned. Forgive me.
