Anti LGBTQ rights “protect the children” Republican John Raymond has been charged with four counts of child cruelty following multiple allegations of physical abuse during his tenure as the headmaster of a christian academy. To make matters worse, the Louisiana Republican Party—who also says it wants to “protect” children from LGBTQ people—has decided to endorse his campaign over another Republican with the same platform, but no child cruelty charges.

He taped the heads of 3 children for speaking in class…wrapped them to the point they had problems breathing and other staff removed the tape when they saw it, and a fourth was held by the ankle upside down while being whipped, then suffocated until he went limp for crying.

More proof that every accusation is an admission, including accusing others of child abuse and ignoring serious crimes you have made it your platform to vehemently fight against just to support your “team” and gain power at any price. Democrats don’t do that bob, that’s your people supporting child abusers.

Russell Brand to Jon Snow; "Listen you, Let me Talk"

chingalera says...

Well, I'm back to saying fuck Snow after looking at his lineage and extant career-If you'd like to peruse my past comments concerning Brand's comedy you'd find me on the first train out and away from that station-I dig his new-and-improved, toned-down 'fuck the system' stance, and Snow??.....

BBC 4, privileged and connected, dad was 'the' headmaster of his school...and if ya wanna read the wiki page, he fawned and fopped his way to where he is today, working for the piss-poor excuse for the queens-approved news-they keep him around as fucking pet, fuck his leading, dismissive remarks, his fucking outlandish set and psychedelic ties, and the stick up his ass full of Pâté and scotch you nor I could ever afford to drink daily...

He's a cunt.

This woman wins WORST PARENT award

That was pretty weak. Hot sauce and a cold shower? Please, I'd have taken that any day. Y'all need to see some real child abuse before you accost this woman as the spawn of hell. She was in control of her actions and the consequences sounded like they were predetermined.
Here's a measure of rationality: you're siding with Dr. Phil.

I mentioned getting mouthfuls of fairy washing up liquid when I lied or swore as a child, but didn't mention the thick leather belt with the huge buckle my mother kept for special occasions (well, mostly when she was drunk or in a bad mood so most of the time really), or the cane that my headmaster used for giving pupils 6 of the best (even the best behaved boys and girls could expect to be caned once a month). Did I mention we were also forced to take cold showers in the morning at school? Yes, it was a boarding school but thankfully a co-ed so it wasn't all bad Must've been worse for the Eton boys! I can take it, and I reckon most people who grew up with such abuse can too. Mind you, our definition of child abuse can be very different to the extremes of abuse in some other countries.

What I find hard to decide in any absolute terms is how much punishment is necessary to make people aware of the consequences for their actions. While I would never go to extremes with leather belts or canes I think there is a balance to be found for each individual child. Having said that, some things are just torturous and really aren't necessary. Finding the right balance of unpleasantness as a consequence is something that has to be decided and warranted for each wrongful act. Premeditated consequences like this only enforce a mental conditioning that prevents the child being able to properly express himself in later life.

There isn't anything odd about the 43 bodies and not one of them is Hamas????
How do you presume to know none were Hamas? They disguise themselves by nature, recruit youngsters, pose as innocents. Here's an example of an instructor in a UN school, also a munitions maker:

EXCLUSIVE-Gaza headmaster was Islamic Jihad "rocket-maker" | Reuters

What exactly is your point? THe UN didn't know. He didn't do these things at school if true. The man was blown up at his home by a helicopter launched rocket. Israelis never bombed the school he taught at (Rafah Prep Boys).

Are you saying this guy launched rockets from his school? Your little news story is from April anyways.

Oh, you are saying anyone who dies when they bomb a school is Hamas. Why not just bomb every building? Why not bomb every mosque during services and every school when it is full of kids or refugees.

Axl Rose Stops Show to Scold Audience

Eden says...

There was actually this one too - where he goes into full smug headmaster mode. I had a struggle deciding which to post and in the end went with the one where he encourages them to beat up on each other. Sounds like he was playing to a crowd of pre-schoolers they way he addresses them in this other one.

'Scent of a Woman' - Great Moments In Cinema

Farhad2000 says...

Scent of a Woman is a 1992 film which tells the story of a preparatory school student who takes a job as an assistant to an irascible blind, medically retired Army officer. It stars Al Pacino, Chris O'Donnell, James Rebhorn, Gabrielle Anwar, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. It won the Academy Award for Best Actor (Al Pacino) and was nominated for Best Director, Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.

This should be watched by everyone growing up. Some trivia for you

* Al Pacino was helped by a school for the blind in preparation for his role. He says he made himself look blind by not focusing his view on anything, and that using prosthetic contact lenses would "fake" his performance.

* During the disciplinary meeting, the headmaster tells Slade "You are out of order!", a line told to another of Pacino's characters in ...And Justice for All (1979).

* Director Martin Brest disowned the version of the film shown on airlines and television.

* In order to get Charlie out of the hotel room Slade asks him to buy some aspirins and a Montecristo no. 1 cigar, a Cuban product banned in the US due to the Cuban embargo. As this task is impossible it would keep Charlie away for a long time.

* Pacino prepared for the famous "tango" scene in the movie by taking intensive Argentine tango lessons at DanceSport, a Manhattan dance studio located near Columbus Circle.

* Slade notices the girl he will tango with a few minutes later by her smell. When Slade and Charlie talk to her, she tells her name was Donna - which is the Italian word for "woman". The approach scene therefore is a homage to the title of the original 1974 movie Profumo Di Donna.
