In Hong Kong they call the head-bobbing "Fishing".
as in: "I saw him on the bus on the way to work. I could tell he was tired because he was fishing."

The Chinese have a word for the nodding off head bobbing that happens - "Fishing" - think about it - it's a very relevant word.
