Into the mind of a real-life superhero

shang says...

this guy was arrested not long ago for assault and battery... was on the news him in his costume handcuffed and taken to jail.

probably some youtube vids of it, but he's a great talker but a bit nuts, usually making the local news a few times a year for being arrested, from assault to obstruction

he's got good idea, but cops keep telling him to stop the vigilantism

i just wish we had more vigilante's that would attack the police and beat them up instead

Anyone have an idea what story they were trying to cover?

"Two NBC journalists were handcuffed and threatened by Chicago police after attempting to report on the murder of a 6-year-old girl yesterday, NBC Chicago reports.

Another NBC journalist was also detained by police outside Mt. Sinai Hospital, where the girl had been taken following a fatal shooting during city wide violence over the weekend.

Police were called to the hospital shortly after reporters arrived on the scene. The journalists said they had already moved away from a public sidewalk and across the street at the request of the police."

Man "forgotten" in DEA custody for 5 days

swedishfriend says...

Man if that is true I am even more upset with the DEA. If you were going to be fair dealers should not be in trouble as much as users because dealers are further removed from any supposed harm and don't actually cause any harm at all.

"he spent in a 5 ft. by 10 ft. cell, where he could not spread his arms out wide."
How long are this dude's arms?!?!

He was handcuffed. Odd wording but it's the only explanation.
All they seized were some soft drugs - shrooms, weed, ecstacy, some other crap and "some weapons" ie. various things that you'd find in a normal house that can be used to fluff out the report and make sure such drugs are associated with violence!
Someone remind me again what's so terrible about taking those things in the privacy of your own property?

Here's a more recent CNN story.
Yes, he was handcuffed in the cell. The house that was raided seemed to be an MDMA distribution center, and the DEA claims they seized 18,000 pills, as well as several guns and cases of ammo. But it also wasn't the kids house; it seems he was just there with friends to get high. Which is why he wasn't charged and supposed to be released.

I'm glad there's a company line being towed on why an innocent person nearly died thanks to the war on drugs

One Way To Deal With A DUI Checkpoint (Refusal)

If the government thought they could get away with it, they'd institute random house searches.

Thank you for being a voice for liberty. some of these sifters are nauseating, and if it were up to them the precogs would be hunting us all down as i speak.

bottom line, reckless drivers should be dealt with, and the troopers need to get their gun touting asses out of everyone else's face. if you've ever been handcuffed/arrested for nonviolent crimes, you know the coppers aren't protecting you, they're watching you. i wont even get into the for-profit policing we have in my city.

Cop kicks handcuffed woman in the head

@GeeSussFreeK

I guess what I am arguing with you about is.... most of the time, police are in a situation where they are "provoked." That happens every single day.

The issue is -- what do they do when they are provoked?

To point out that the kick was "provoked" misses the point, to say it again. The point is -- was his response to the situation excessive? That is why he is on trial. That is why I posted this vid.

I have nothing but admiration and respect for law officers who go out every day, putting their lives on the line for the public safety, while essentially wearing a target on their back. I can't imagine what it must be like to know that if you pull someone over for speeding, you might be dead in the next five minutes. I can't imagine what it is like to be a family member of a police officer, never knowing if this might be the day your loved one is killed or maimed in the line of duty.

A handcuffed, drunk, barefoot, seated woman kicked out at a police officer and he kicked her in the head. He did not take steps to protect himself from her "attacking" him again, if he truly was in fear for his safety.

Every police officer is provoked every single day. How you handle that provocation determines whether or not you end up in court being prosecuted for excessive force.

Isn't "excessive" what we are pointing out here?

She was drunk off her ass, seated on the ground, handcuffed, barefoot.

He kicked her in the head when he could have taken a step back and solved the problem. And as the prosecutor pointed out, if he was concerned for his safety, why didn't they put her in leg manacles?

Excessive. Period.

{I'm not turning into blankfist, I swear.....]

>> ^GeeSussFreeK:

Usually on the side of victims for things like this, but she kicked him...he kicked back, game over. Excessive, perhaps, unprovoked, no. You don't kick police, unless you want to eat pavement...which she did. Don't want to get kicked in the face, then don't play the physical card game with a man twice your size with boots while your in handcuffs on the ground, it doesn't end well for you.

The one I know for sure was the anti-globalisation rally, where both sides were pretty unreasonable.

Now that you mention it, as for the other time, I remember seeing police holding protesters by the throat on TV another time or two apart from that, but I don't actually recall what it was about.

Now I'm not saying the protesters are the same each time, but the police certainly are.
In reply to this comment by Kofi:
What "last few episodes"?

I am asking this sincerely.

>> ^oritteropo:

Most of them actually left when told to, the 100 or so who stayed really have no-one to blame but themselves. It shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone that our police are a bit heavy handed after the last few times this has happened.
Now as to whether the by-law they were violating is just is another question, but just remember our laws are NOT the same as in the U.S.
>> ^Kofi:
There was punching and kicking and pepper spray. This is from 1st hand eye witnesses and participants. Look at my other vid to see excessive force being used. You should have sympathy for them or else your moral compass is way off.
>> ^TheSofaKing:
Nobody being punched or kicked. No batons, no pepper spray, no tasers. I didn't even see anyone being handcuffed. I have no idea what the specific issue was at this location that prompted police to break up this demonstration and I can understand people not agreeing with that decision.... but to call this "shocking" is sadly melodramatic. Police officers were obviously told to break up the people in the specific area (people watching from the outer area appeared to be left alone). They did it professionally and did not appear to hurt anyone. The protesters screaming and carrying on (specifically the douche at 0:48) look like morons to me and I have no sympathy for them.

There was reportedly one person hospitalised, and 20 injured, out of only 100 protesters who remained after being advised that the protest was unlawful and that they should move along. I doubt they were told about the 400 riot police who were going to beat them up otherwise, but it's kinda implied after the last few similar episodes.>> ^TheSofaKing:
