Just saw Star Trek yesterday... Spock says it to, I think, Kirk.

To me, it looks really good, has a great cast, and will probably be a hoot.

BUT

Man, can Guy Ritchie be MORE of a one trick pony?

I mean, I don't know ANY other director (I'm sure others will now chime in) who does more films EXACTLY the same with the same style, same basic plot, same type of cast (if not almost identical)... he needs to broaden his damn palette a bit.

At the end of the clip, the fire alarm was going off, and the guy on the floor with his singed pants pulled down had the greatest "I don't believe this" look on his face and was about to scream in a girlish voice "You fucking asshole!" I really wish the video had gone another ten or twenty seconds, but sometimes freeze framing in the middle of something frenetic lets you savour the chaos. Ask Guy Ritchie.

My favourite Guy Ritchie scene. While a much better quality version of this exists on YouTube (link) but it is an excerpt, and really loses the excellence of this monologue. I wish that I could find a better clip, but here it is. I hope that I can memorise this monologue by repeated viewing. Creepy, and awesome.

One of Guy Ritchies' best films (next to Snatch & Lock Stock). Amazing that Madonna still can't act, even when the character she's playing is essentially herself. Although, better than her last performance involving a car / car park (Body Of Evidence anyone?)

Never sat through a Guy Ritchie film, as he seems such an obvious Taratino clone.
And I don't care all that much for Tarantino, either.

Written and directed by her husband Guy Ritchie . . . hmmmmmmm.

I'm still going to think Guy Ritchie movie... but this'll be its subtext fer sure.
