Um, state-run? CNN is a wholly owned subsidiary of Time Warner, which is a publicly traded corporation headed by Chairman and CEO Jeffrey L. Bewkes. The government holds no stake in CNN unless they have shares in Time Warner. To my knowledge, they do not.

For what it's worth, I agree with schmawy - I don't think that simpleton had to be banned, at least not yet (I'll admit it might have seemed he was going for it though).

When I found out he was banned I looked over his comments and definitely did not like what I saw, but I was quite sure he was all about dissenting (and crudely formulated) 'opinion', not trolling.

But disregard that, because this really IS a clear-cut case: nobody should be banned for expressing happiness at the death of someone else. I'm not even going to Godwin this discussion for the sake of example, I think the vast majority of Sifters should already know better. Issy of all people.

I think you're missing the point of why it was dropped. It was dropped, because we need to have someone protect the minority from the majority. Now that is our Glorious Leader, who can choose to ignore the majority if he wishes. As long as he completely uncorruptable, then we're good.
