A Soccer Ball That Never Wears Out

yellowc says...

"Chevrolet has pledged to donate 1.5 million One World Futbols over three years"

You did but it's ok, those kids aren't going to buy Chevrolet's any time soon, that's advertising for the people who buy a ball to send a ball.

Did I just see a Chevrolet logo branded on this thing?

haha I've been a ref since when I was in high school. I know the angles and all that, that's why I'm laughing. Even funnier is your empty threat of beating me up. I live in Philadelphia. Message me when you come to visit, I'll give you a proper ass beating tough guy. hahaha internet tough guys make me laugh more than anything. Bring it bitch. I'll have my friend record it all. It will be my first number #1. >> ^Yogi:

haha i got way too good a laugh from this>> ^Yogi:
How is the ref a bum? Have you ever refereed? Because from that angle that certainly had to look like a foul, he called what he saw that doesn't make him a bum.
ON TOP OF THAT the referee admitted his mistake and called a drop ball instead of a penalty kick which he is absolutely within his rights to insist. This is an honest referee, who listens to the players and doesn't just act like a jerk.
If you think he's a bum for making a mistake and then copping to it, you're an asshole.

You're still an asshole and an idiot. I've reffed games and been threatened with knives, if I knew you I'd beat the living shit out of you.

Milton Friedman - Why Drugs Should Be Legalized

dystopianfuturetoday says...

....for anyone unfamiliar with Chile 1973.

In 1973 he collaborated with brutal Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet to force 'free market' reforms on the country by way of a coup. The coup used murder and torture to terrify opponents into silence. Business owners sympathetic to the coup allowed their warehouses to be used as impromptu torture centers to torture union members that had previously been employees. The national futbol stadium was transferred into a massive torture/rape/prison/execution complex where tens of thousands of Chilean citizens died. Milton said his coordinated economic plan for the coup would require some 'shock therapy'.

For more on this, read The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein. It details this incident and dozens of similar ones to impose 'free market' capitalism on the people by way of fear, torture, force, bribery and blackmail. http://www.amazon.com/Shock-Doctrine-Rise-Disaster-Capitalism/dp/0805079831

Brutal Soccer Kick Knockout

Try being an official sometime, it's harder than it looks. Sign up for a class we constantly need new officials because they're constantly quitting due to the extreme abuse and sometimes battery that they face every weekend.

Brutal Soccer Kick Knockout

rychan says...

The persistant faked injuries in futbol make these incidents even more dangerous. Notice how the players hardly bat an eyelash at the face-down, motionless player. Even the guy who kicked him protests his innocence to the ref before even looking back at his victim.

It's sad, the bad officiating and the faked injuries that go with it are the reason I can't really watch futbol.

Er.. we did?

I can say as a brit that doesn't give two shits about football that literally every american friend i had came to me going "LOLOLOL HOW YOU LIKE THEM APPLES" or something equally ludicrous. Nevermind that they were so excited about a draw from a keeping error, but it seems to me a hell of a thing to have absolutely no interest in something for many many years and then suddenly scream derision towards someone because you tasted a degree of percieved success.

Anyway, i'd much prefer you to truthfully say that "some british people you know/saw/read about on the internet" got bent out of shape. And i'll truthfully say that 100% of american people i know on the internet in some way attempted to mock me or irritate me by gloating over a draw.

The day i do the same to you, you can claim the moral highground, until then i don't think you should be starting much of a witch hunt regarding "acting up over nothing"

France cheats its way into World Cup

rychan says...

Disgraceful. Hopefully this puts pressure on Futbol to properly officiate their sport. I can't stand to watch it any more because the officials seem to decide 50% of matches (usually in the wrong direction when they do).

Use instant replay. Suspend and fine players for diving (after the fact, even).
