Sorry Newt: You Can Put A Gun Rack In A Chevy Volt
seems reasonable to me its a common issue with batteries.

Jalopnik is a site of car enthusiasts. That said, way to attack the messenger. Has Tesla disputed this widely known and very harmful claim? Not directly.

Just make sure your ammo is in a fireproof box in your coal-powered, taxpayer-funded, rolling electroturd.
In case you hadn't noticed, all American cars are taxpayer funded these days. I can't speak to the Volt, but I've been in a Nissan Leaf with 4 guys and the car was surprisingly powerful. And needless-to-say, the Tesla vehicles do not suffer from any kind of performance deficiency. So go ahead, laugh it up while you're paying $4-5 for a gallon of corn juice that'll carry you about 20 miles or so. Meanwhile, the electric car owners will spend $4-5 on a full charge of a 200 mile battery pack.
[edit] I don't know why, but I was thinking the Volt was all electric. Screw these hybrids, Detroit. Spend some damn R&D money on battery energy density.
Quality source you got yourself there. This is most likely bullshit...like the Toyota Prius crap that turned out to be a BUNCH of Fucking lies. I'm waiting until more evidence comes out...but I'm sure sensationalist news sites won't.

Uninterruptible power supply Advice? (Geek Talk Post)
Most modern UPSs can also send a shutdown command to any computers connected (usually via USB), so your computer shuts down properly even if you're not there to turn it off.
Other than that, yeah, a UPS will give you 30 minutes or so at best, and that's when the battery is good. I have one at work that drains out in under 2 minutes from a full charge, with 1 server connected to it..
Paging Doc_M - I think you have GOLD FEVER (Happy Talk Post)
Congrats Doc_M!
I hope the nursies nicely nurse your new promote powers to full charge!
Enjoy your new special abilities!
Lost Cop Shoots Puppy On Private Property In Oklahoma
Charged my ass. Never read such a bullshit from you guys.
That dog was not even close to do a full charge to attack. I guess you people have never seen a dog charge to attack. It looks frightening and is extremely fast. This dog just ran normally. As fast as our dogs when they want to greet people at the door.
Cop has to pay $18K for arresting firefighter trying to help

This is where cops need better training. They're trained to have full charge of a situation no matter what. They'll arrest anyone, allow people to be put in danger, take away any rights, even let people die before they relinquish an inch of control. You could be fighting to get your kid out of a burning car and if you ignore the cop telling you to get back he'll probably taser you before giving it a second thought.
I actually have friends who are cops and my understanding of their training is that it includes a rule that life saving techniques and procedures get precedence over law enforcement. If this cop hadn't been trained to know that, he wouldn't have been liable, his department would have been. This cop was an idiot and he paid for it. Case closed.
