Gee Atherton Tests INSANE MTB Trail
Back in my riding days, I rode trails like this, but without the big jumps, on my road racing 14 speed bike with thin knobbies. No suspension and the wrong style handlebars change EVERYTHING! I'm still impressed my front forks never broke, and that I never went over a cliff. I usually went over the front of the bike at least once per ride, though.
Ahhhh, youth. It's wasted on the young.
Most Impressive Video Game Weapons First-Person Action Ever
*comedy for spoons and forks!
Mountain biking with no chain
Where do you stop? Tyre goes flat half way down, re-run. Front fork breaks, re-run. Brake breaks, re-run.
Same with most race type disciplines (eg. rally cars), equipment failure is just part of the sport and everyone has to deal with it.
I know, but why, in this sport, is it important that everyone only gets the one run? No do-over in the case of a mechanical failure right out the gate? There's no NEED to accept the bad luck... it's neat he won tho.
BB-8 droid from The Force Awakens Rolls out on stage
All you need is Airtrax wheels from the Sidewinder fork lifts.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjcyHicm3NA
then 8 or so wheels pushing against the outer shell so you can move in a decent number of directions (might have to retract the wheels perpendicular to the direction of movement unless there's a more elegant solution I'm missing)
Everything Wrong With Netflix
I had never heard of that before -- pretty cool idea although I've got enough storage available and a fast enough connection that just downloading in advance works fine.
Since you use the present tense "is", I assume that one of the forks is still active? Wikipedia says the original was taken down "under MPAA pressure" (imagine that -- strongarm tactics from the MPAA!).

Hey people, I had figured some of you might be interested in how your pitch fork's are made. It is interesting to know how your tools are made. *Now stick'em up your ass. *

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/oct/29/justice-probation-contracts-private-companies
As if the privatisation of probation services wasn't horrible enough, the contracts include this little gimmick:
Not that they would want to, but the next government couldn't even undo this shit, not without forking over these contract penalties. I bet Sodexho and Interserve could even sue GB over it at the ICSID, thanks to hidden clauses in some free trade agreement.
How To Eat Sushi
I half agree with both points of view. First of all, doing it your own way is fine, it's not doing it 'wrong' or being rude. So long as you're not talking with your mouth full, you're golden.
But if you see it as time honored suggestions for how to enjoy the experience more; that's both useful and interesting. I'd love it if we could have conversations about how to enjoy food without any snobbery.
But honestly for some people the joy of superiority is most of what they get out of it. For them these rituals are not about the food, it's about identifying the lower class who don't know what the tiny fork is for. Or in this case, when to eat the ginger.
Why are people so against learning how to appreciate food or drink?
In many cases with these things, there are decades or even centuries of tradition and experience that have gone into this little rituals that are part of the theatre of food or wine or whiskey.
Besides, especially in the context of a culture that's not your own, disregarding the cultural norms is just rude and ignorant.
"home made" 70hp Rat Bike vs 180 HP CBR1000 Drag Racing
Also, like a rail dragster, his extended forks allows for acceleration torque beyond the point the CBR would flip over on it's back. The Harley has almost twice the wheel base.
Give the CBR a wheelie bar and grandpa would be looking at tail lights the whole trip.
I think it has more to do with the torque curves of the two engines, and perhaps the lower centre of gravity and gearing ratios. I'd expect the rat bike to do fairly well against a gokart actually... at least over the same distance
The Honda should certainly have smoked him over a slightly longer distance and would win fairly easily on top speed, even if 180hp might be a slight exaggeration.

Reverse Racism, Explained
Not at all. I certainly did not say it doesn't count. I said it's different.
You said yourself you moved away from there. Minorities can't move away from being refused a loan, getting a better job, or abuses of power. They can't run away from TV hosts seemingly amazed that black people know how to use a fork. They have to deal with more than explicit manifestation of discrimination.
That does in no way diminishes what you had to live through.
To quote Louis CK:
"I'm not trying to say that if you're white you can't complain. I'm just saying that if you're black you get to complain more."
I also want to stress, in line with my previous remark on "labels", that the vocabulary we use to discuss these issues is often not good enough, or at least not precise enough. We want to use (or claim) the word 'racism' because it carries that emotional weight needed to make a statement, even though it obviously means different things to different people. Should we instead use qualifiers like "community discrimination", "systemic discrimination"? Probably. But it's not likely to happen. To me the important point is not how it's called, but that people who are not confronted with this reality understand what effects it has on those who have live it.
So, it seems you are saying that racism only counts if it's systemic and endemic, but not when it's only on an individual scale?
Important Things You Probably Didn't Know About Hymens
Always wondered if Jews are supposed to be so thrifty and smart why they still name some of their kids Hymen anyhow? I know the way the surnames' spelled (for all you stickler cunts) but I mean, really? Grandpa would understand and forgive, right??
Hyman. Hymen. Write 'em out both three times (exempted if you were born with a fucking computer keyboard and have never used one and can't even hold a pen or a fork correctly any how, much less write or eat real food) then say it three times. It sounds too silly for a name for anything, right? Unless you're a comedian...
Gibson guitars now tune themselves robotically
Yeah, I'm aware - now - that this commentary-versation was going in a completely different direction than I was taking it. Unfortunately, I sometimes can't resist the urge to respond to the immediacy of what my gut might be feeling... meaning, I started typing my snotty remark before I dove into the meat of what all the previous comments were focusing on. After I hit the submit button, I did realize this fact, but I re-read my post, and was still rather proud of my observations.
So I figured I'd leave my blurb up just in case there was anyone out there who might not be as musically oriented as some of us, but still has an appreciation for viewing some of the ""TOOLS"" that have resulted from the ever evolving technologies of THIS MODERN AGE, as the absurdities they often are.
The rest of you who are taking the other fork in the road of this dialogue, move along.... nothing to see here.
@overdude, I know you're being funny, but I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting that this can replace developing a good ear. Yeah, all those things you mentioned are important, but they're not important all the time. Just because you can drive a manual doesn't mean you can't have an automatic for doing the groceries.
