I agree. If she wants to be treated as a true feminist (all genders are equal) then imagine how the crowd would have reacted if a man was shoved over and was crying. Instead of a flock of people rushing in to help, they'd probably be pointing and laughing.

I'm not saying what happened was right, but, yes, people need thicker skin.

Man, there are so many sites where you can watch EVERY episode of television known to man. I guess the general public will always flock to the same overcrowded pool thinking it's the best evar.

I love the EIA tag, but not for the usual Darwin Awards type reasons. I wonder if this is an example of adaptation. I'll have to look it up, but my guess is that pigeons (or any bird for that matter) can't maintain 90km/h in a horizontal line for any extended amount of time. I'm thinking that they are learning how to draft cars on the highway.

It would be awesome if it confers some adaptive advantage and it starts catching on so that I can go on a road trip with a flock of birds in tow in a flying V formation.

Hapless birdlies' do it every day somewhere, zor....In turbine terminology it's called BASH (Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard) and on average about 65% of bird strikes cause little or no damage. A whole flock can seriously flock-up an engine though...

Looks like pilot ill-communication with ground crew or careless pilot-Guy on the ground probably didn't know the engine was about to be fired-up-There was after-all a cone in front of the right turbine already. He was cautious not to walk directly into the front of that thing, as entire humans have been sucked-into jet turbines in the history of their use...some have survived even after being spit-out the other side I've heard (though I don't believe it).

Salt Lake City has an odd dichotomy. On the one hand it's the heart of the Mormon church. And if you do go to the temple and meet one of their leaders, he will be an old white man who takes himself way too seriously.

But on the other hand it's also the most liberal and democratic leaning part of Utah. One recent example. Last Friday when the federal court judgement came which struck down Utah's same-sex marriage ban. Clerks stayed late at the County Clerk's office and ministers flocked to volunteer to marry the hundreds of gay couples who showed up immediately after the news. I know a very devoted lesbian couple who were married by the mayor of Salt Lake City that night.
