First Look At Firefly Browncoats Unite Special

Never understood the fascination with that show. It had some good parts (Alan Tudyk for example), but the way people carry on about it, they think it was the second coming. It wasn't that good.

The point is, it had way more promise than any other Whedon show ever. it started amazingly strong, it had a great universe that was interesting and looked cool to explore. The characters were soo much fun, and interesting. The possibilities were endless, that is why this show was fascinating, because it looked sooo promising and it was killed.
Whedon finally got sick of of this crap, and went to make movies where apparently he can do whatever he wants and make $2 Billion.

I agree completely. Besides Star Wars, the Song of Ice and Fire series, only firefly, in it's short life, expanded my imagination wildly when I watched the show (about 2 years after it got cancelled, never heard of it before then). I loved it. Sure, I love movies/shows that are very well written, acted, directed. But nothing can beat something created that makes your imagination run wild.

(now that I think of it, of course my imagination has grown from other things than those I just listed. I was merely just using some examples of universes created from ideas and writting/shows/movies)... yea

I love the fuck out of Firefly, but a 10 year reunion show does seem a bit...much

I don't think so, this took on a life of it's own. It's now not even soo much about the show, it's about the people who love the show and them meeting up every once in awhile with the friendships they've formed. That can only be a good thing, that's how Trekkies sorta went after awhile, long term bonds were formed due to love of something and then that became the glue to foster loving relationships and friendships and other such gayness.

I think it's sweet, I supported the Browncoats but I would never really call myself one because I never wrote a letter or did anything except sign petitions. I've never even been to a con, I just like loving Firefly from a distance.

Thanks for reminding me there's never going to be another episode of Firefly...
Bitter sweet...man i love that show.

I feel you man, I think about it at least once a week, sometimes that makes me bust out the Blu Rays and weep for awhile. It was my favorite show ever.

So many cynical people in this thread. Stop being such miserable bastards and just enjoy something

NO FUCK THAT. I'm not putting up with being told what I should and shouldn't be enamored of. Now I'm going to go watch Firefly and have a good cry!

Watch something like that and I wonder if the show could have ever lived up to what it's become in people's minds.

I do however want to know who the visiting actor was that Nathan Fillion had issue with regarding the treatment of actresses. Wondering if it was someone you might remember from the show or a minor role.

I like a lot of Whedon's stuff. Dollhouse was pretty blah however, I think it got a second season only because Firefly. Didn't care for the movie Serenity, it felt kinda bolted onto the side what I thought the Firefly show was about.

The Movies Of Christopher Nolan

My top five:
Ridley Scott - Alien, Blade Runner
Kubrick - 2001, Clockwork Orange, Dr Strangelove
Christopher Nolan - View video above
The Whedon - Firefly, Buffy (TV), the Avengers
Nicholas Meyer (Wrath of Khan, Undiscovered Country)
-Interesting tidbits
-I knew Nimoy Directed The Voyage Home, but didn't know he directed 3 Men and a Baby. - hmmph.
-I don't include Lucas, as he was a (3 movie) one hit wonder. Seriously, what else has he done thats's memorable?
-JJ Abrahms has WRITTEN and PRODUCED a ton of stuff I love, but he hasn't really directed anything.
-The Buffy episode "Hush" is the best, most original, scary, stand-alone story I have ever watched on television.

Whedon is amazing that goes without saying. You're right to not include Lucas, all you have to do is watch Indian Jones trilogy to see how he shouldn't direct and Spielberg should!

Nerd Machine: Trailer Park Heroes Pt. 3

Bunch of actors with nerd/geek fans, except for the blond who was in them all...I only remember her being in some cheerleader show that doesn't fit in with other shows being represented here..Chuck, Firefly, Castle, Battlestar, etc.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

I completely agree. In most ways, TV SF is better than blockbuster films lately. They have smaller budgets and more time to develop the characters and the story. >> ^JAPR:

Thanks for the review, looks like I'm passing this one up until later on, I got me some Firefly to watch.
It's really disappointing how much the meaningful parts of commercialized arts (film, music, even video games) have become increasingly saturated with lowest-common-denominator-type filler; everything is more about the flair and the polish instead of the substance now.
