Saying normla mode is easy is because it is normal mode.


Many people will only ever play it once. Those people have to play normal, and for many of those players normal sucks and they knew it was going to.

For someone like me, it meant that the first time I saw the content it was in fast forward mode (trying to escape the mindless, challenge-free boredom of normal mode), which ruined what might have been some more enjoyable content.

And it's ridiculous that I can't start a new character on Nightmare (just make him level 30 with no gear... whatever). This means I can't reasonably play with a friend who's behind me in levels (he's 30, I'm around 50) without doing another 10 hour slog. And I can't try another character without a 10 hour slog.

I don't want to do any slogs. Just let me play the fun parts of a game, please.

Also, they should have made "elective mode" either default or a little more noticeable (because the game is much worse without it).

The skill system means gear is the only way your character is actually different than others. It works, but it takes something away from the game. The way difficulty scales is really unsatisfying. It doesn't feel like your skills are tested; it feels more like your gear and stamina are being tested. Skills and item balance were not well tested before launch. I don't know how this was done so poorly by a company with so much experience.

It's a good game.. but not nearly as good as I expected, with very little innovation, and with a few really questionable decisions. I'm pretty much done with it.

Don't feel too bad. Comedy Central's video player is so fucked up that it can be a challenge to watch even from inside the US. It's so bad there's a Facebook group about it (http://www.facebook.com/FixThePlayerStewart) though it inexplicably claims the player's been fixed now.


Good, maybe they can work on the Canadian player. I've given up on Daily because skipping/fast forwarding/replaying and sometimes just normal watching can break the player, forcing you to start from the beginning (and re-watching the ads)...

If you had a little more empathy, you would see why people are so upset and angry. Anyone with a darker skinned kid is upset and concerned that murder can be so easy to commit and get away with.

And you're completely wrong when you say noone is looking at Zimmerman's side. For god's sake the guy killed a kid and he's walking free. The police and state attorneys were on his side from the start. They already said: "We can find no reason to arrest or charge Zimmerman".That's the problem. The people we're most mad at are the Florida police for looking the other way. I don't know if Zimmerman is guilty of a crime or not, but I'm pretty fucking sure that him shooting and killing an unarmed kid warranted more action from the police than what happened.
I don't understand why that isn't everyone's reaction. Why is the right fighting that...at all? Why has this turned into another partisan political spat?

I feel like we've hit the "fast forwarded button" skip a year and George Zimmerman was released and the mayor presented him with a key to the and gave a speech about how Zimmerman is a great citizen for "stopping a dangerous negro".
People act like I'm defending Zimmerman when it will always seem that way because nobody else is looking at the other side of the case. Until this video came out we had no reason to NOT believe Zimmerman over what was in our individual hearts.
Now Zimmerman needs to pray that the hospital took photos of him or something looking really beat up or can explain away why in that video he looks perfectly fine.

At first I didn't like sitting on those exercise balls. Especially because when I first tried it I was studying. I felt the fact that I was sitting on a ball distracted me too much. Fast forward a few months later...we hire a new employee. He brings his big exercise ball in to sit on. I mock him for some time (I've known him for years), but when he needs computer help, I have to sit on it to work at his desk. I love it now. Now as I was saying, ahem, I sit on a ball at least once a day for as long as I can stand it. Stability balls are a great way for me to get a little something out of sitting as often as I do. Basically the way it works is you're constantly being thrown slightly off balance. That imbalance forces you to use muscles in your abs and butt that would normally be doing nothing.
I know it's not largely significant (a 2008 study showed it only increased calories burned by about 6%, comparable to standing) but while sitting on the ball I frequently try to lean back to lounge the way I would in a chair and my body is consistently surprised that I jsut tricked it into doing a sit-up of sorts (although sometimes the body rebels and I fall off) :-).
Still no 6-pack, but every little bit helps.

Whoa ! I had almost the same sales pitch from a girl with the SAME product a few months ago. It was like a stand-up routine in fast-forward. She was hilarious and told me to watch out for her on Comedy Central. I totally remember because the part of the pitch when she 'drank' the cleaning solution sold me. Also, she likewise saw hardwater stains on my window and scrubbed them out on the spot.

I don't claim to be an expert, or an authority on this stuff. I will say that I've been fascinated by it on a personal level for over ten years. It started back in the ZDtv days (before TechTV), when Michio Kaku was on an episode of Big Thinkers. I read anything I can get my hands on, and watch all material that comes my way.
Take the following for what it's worth, I'm not trying to proselytize an agenda, just share some of my private thoughts.
I've got a number of analogies I could use here for describing the entire (11 dimensional) universe. Two of my favorites are a VHS tape and hologram baseball card. They both kind of work the same way in so far as how they relate to the thought experiment. I'll explain both.
In the case of the VHS tape, it has your favorite movie on it. You know it word for word, line for line. You've seen it a hundred times. But no matter how many times you watch it, the story will always end the same way. But, from the point of view of the characters (I'm talking in a 4th wall sense; the characters themselves, not the actors playing them), have no idea what will happen next. In fact, the same was true for you the first time you saw the movie. There may have been some foreshadowing, but hell, there's some of that in real life too.
The point is, with the tape, you can fast forward, rewind, pause, browse the timeline however you choose. But the characters are oblivious to this. You aren't really manipulating their timeline, you're just browsing it for your own perspective. If you eject the tape though, you're holding the entire timeline. You've collapsed their universe into a 3 dimensional object. It only has a 4th dimension when you put it in the VCR. When you watch it. But even during the novel first experience of the initial viewing, the end of the story was there. It was always there, predetermined at the end of the tape.
On to the baseball card for a moment. Now, given various factors in the developing process, that hologram card has a lot more information than what you can see at one time, flat on. You have to tilt it one way or an other to get a different view -- to access more of the data. And yet, viewing the different angels don't create that data. Knowing they're there doesn't make them exist. It only makes you aware of them. Holding the card, you still hold all the potential that image has all at once, in that one object, even if you can't be privy to it all at once.

Different strokes for different blokes I guess. I like the romantic subplots.
