Jeep Wrangler Catches Fire & Burns

The Mueller Investigation Is Not A Witch Hunt

newtboy says...

Again, 100% wrong.
Manafort's crimes included non disclosures during the campaign to hide his Russia ties....FOR Trump's benefit and likely at his direction.
Cohen's guilty pleas were about hidden undisclosed illegal unseemly campaign contributions made BY and FOR Trump himself, continued to be lied about up to and including today by Trump himself.

All to do with Trump, and continuing from the campaign through today.

Don't you ever get tired of being so thoroughly wrong? It must be exhausting making sure you don't get anything right. I think you honestly need to get your head checked, you are having serious problems recognizing reality.

Dad, we've been through this

What wires do you have crossed that you can't comprehend a simple analogy/simile? You can't be that dense....you just can't, but you come across that way.

So you can understand, I'll break it down to grade school level. Most police, not all, lie in their job (or worse). Most heroin addicts, not all, steal. Just as you would prudently protect yourself from an addict by assuming they might steal, you should protect yourself from dishonest cops by assuming anything they tell you might be a lie.

Jebus Christ, you people are exhausting.

I have nothing to apologize to them for, certainly not for my opinion. If anything, I'm due a few apologies by dishonest powertripping police for their inexcusable behaviors and actions.

That is all, I'm done with this b.s.. Good day, sir.

What wires do you have crossed to compare a police officer with a drug addict ? You come off as a very hateful person. Remember this whole discussion if ever you need help and apologize to the one helping you.

Thanks for this.

I know it isn't deliberate. That is why it is exhausting.

Yeah. I am done.

Now we are BOTH done! This is what is known as a win-win!

/shrug Just going off what you put in your replies. I'm not trying to deliberately misinterpret you. I guess you're over the conversation so I'll leave it at that.

Cheers,

It is exhausting to be told what I believe, when I never say any such thing.

It was beautiful here today.

You have yet to prove that this phenomenon exists in significant numbers, let alone proven the theory that it is endemic. I spent some time reading up lest I speak out of my nether regions and, by and large, the studies referenced are as credible as that anti vax article in the Lancet that started that ball rolling.

Women's organisations pushing a narrative that white men are some sort of evil overlords convincing women that it's good to dress like sluts and be subordinate (subconciously of course) doesn't surprise me. It's like christians saying god exists. It's a subconcious effect that the person who has it won't acknowledge exists because they don't agree with what we think..? In another age, it would be witches being burned at the stake because the orthodoxy concluded that it was a fact that healing via herbs while eschewing formal religion meant you were possessed of dark powers.

I'll be happy to give as objective a viewing as I can to anything you'd like to put forward, but from what I've seen so far, most of the "science" is incredibly slanted towards a forgone conclusion.

And yes, I do agree with you, men are in a worse state, relative to where they live of course. There are plenty of people that have it far worse than the 10% living it up in the west. It's why people like Jordon Peterson are getting such an incredible response from a generation that is blamed for the woes of women in the world for the crime of having a penis. It's not just the pressure of being told to "be a man" by other men, it's the sheer stress of having the biology of a dominant hunter/gatherer/protector in a society that has declared those traits as toxic.

My son at 5 years old once burst in to tears when he came running to me after his older female cousin had punched him the chest. When I asked if it was because he was hurt, he instead said he was confused. We had told him that he could stick up for himself if anyone hit him, but we also told him to never hit girls or women... The cousin even went so far to taunt him that he couldn't hit girls and if he did, he'd get punished. It's already in the schools by the time they are 7. Privilege instruction...

Incidentally, there is some evidence that men die earlier than women because testosterone actually kills us sooner. The hypothesis being, and supported by a few early studies, that our biology gears us for action, maintaining reproduction etc in the now at the expense of longevity.

Anyhoo, enough of that, glad you had fun. And yeah, good gear makes things much better. Spent a lot of time hiking in NZ and PNG when I was younger and life was eminently more bearable with solid gear.

Rocket In The Sky Plus Accident

Lendl says...

It was not a test launch. It was an instantaneous launch just after sunset to launch 10 satellites. The clock on the dash cam must not be set to local time.

https://youtu.be/wtdjCwo6d3Q

"SpaceX is targeting launch of Iridium-4 from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The instantaneous launch window is at 5:27 p.m. PST on Friday, December 22"

https://spaceflightnow.com/2017/12/23/spacex-launch-dazzles-delivering-10-more-satellites-for-iridium/

"The two-stage, kerosene-fueled rocket climbed into the rarefied upper atmosphere a few minutes following liftoff shortly after sunset at 5:27:34 p.m. PST (8:27:34 p.m. EST; 0127:34 GMT) from Space Launch Complex 4-East Vandenberg Air Force Base northwest of Los Angeles.

The Falcon 9 left a brilliant white plume of exhaust in its wake, catching rays of sunshine as it soared above the stratosphere. The ever-expanding plume left a teardrop-shaped mark in the sky, prompting countless social media posts from rush hour drivers and others who happened to catch an unexpected glimpse of the rocket’s trip to space."

at first I thought, "why don't they do these test launches late at night when fewer people are out on the roads?" then I saw the timestamp at the bottom was ~1:30am.

Accident was here: Google Maps

Bill Maher - Penn Jillette on Libertarianism

dannym3141 says...

"That's what mature people would do.."

For some reason, in my head all i can see is a posh woman sat in one of Titanic's lifeboats, which is tipping side to side as desperate, freezing people try to climb in. "If they tip the lifeboat over we'll all die, why can't they be more mature about it?"

Trump is shit for the US and for the world, but it's a bit of an own goal to blame people who Hillary Clinton & her political supporters couldn't convince that either a) the US would be significantly better off with her over Trump for it to matter or b) they individually would benefit from what she had to offer. They don't owe you votes, you have to win their support by making them believe they'll be better off.

This is more of the same shit that we've been shoveled for years - neoliberalism is the ONLY way. Compromise, grow up, be mature, *agree with us or you're to blame for what happens*. What's the end game of a political system where the blame for the result goes to anyone who didn't vote for the two largest parties?

Look, the centre can't energise people because they don't have anything hopeful or interesting to offer. If you want a message that carries well, if you want the energy and positivity to overcome trump then it HAS to come from the left. Anti-fascist protests have attracted so many thousands of people from a position of love & togetherness, largely organised by socialist women. See Kristian Hernandez for example.

You can't get people out and marching and waving signs saying "We Want More Austerity" or "We Want Tough Talk On Minimum Wage But No Real Action" - you need a message and a hope that will inspire kids from universities to come out in droves and have those difficult conversations with friends, strangers, and their families. Have them out in the streets with music & activity spreading a positive message and showing people that there IS strength and love in a community that comes together. You need something that will inspire an entire population of forgotten black communities. YOU FIGHT HATE WITH LOVE, NOT THE COMPROMISE OF THE CENTRE. You know what the compromise of the centre gets you? It gets you a man who thinks adding "on many sides, on many sides" is how you present a balanced statement, and an audience who agrees.

The chattering classes like Maher have done very well for a very long time out of neoliberalism. He's been on the TV for years talking about the results of that ideology, earning a good livelihood off it. He has a very nice suit, looks healthy and happy, probably a nice house, looking forward to pension and good healthcare. He's calling people who have sickness and exhaustion, living in rented apartments in rough areas, looking forward to the sweet release of death, immature.

So pardon me if i say fuck off Maher; stop asking people with nothing to keep compromising your way. If you want their support, compromise their way. And if you want their energy and fire, you're going to have to share control of the reins because talk is cheap. Give them a Bernie.

Sorry for the rant.

I could use the same argument to try to outlaw cars.
When someone complains about smokers outdoors, I ask them if they drove there to complain, then offer a deal. They sit in their car with the exhaust plumbed into the window, I'll sit in a box smoking a fat cigar, last one breathing wins the debate.
Oddly, no one ever takes me up on that, but at least they all sheepishly drop their complaints.

As to banning it in private homes, this is a terribly slippery slope that gives power to others to decide what's dangerous to you....now consider getting too little sleep has proven to be harmful, so why not a legally enforced bed time based on the youngest or oldest person on your block? Your second hand noise might keep them up, harming them, so night night time is now 6pm. Consider all the food issues you mentioned as second hand groceries, because children have little option but to eat what parents supply, so no more sugar, salt, or processed foods in the stores because they might buy them.

The questions about health and safety vs freedom to be unhealthy are not simple ones to resolve, and it's impossible to fully safeguard both.
