I don't identify as Christian, but I have been steeped in its images my whole life. Plus Sunday Bible School when I was seven. Perfect attendance. Jesus was my buddy when I was little.

And no, I don't think Christians consider God and Jesus the same. Jesus is strictly New Testament and brought a message of love. I think that is why no one laughed at that joke -- it doesn't match his message.

I'm not a biblical scholar, but I do know that Mary of Magdelene was a prostitute who he consorted with and defended. "God" would never have done that. The Nag Hammadi Gospels were discovered and one of them was purportedly written by Mary. The bible being so male-centric is in part due to a historical power struggle -- decisions were made about what was to be kept and what was tossed aside -- and the men won.

The Gnostic Gospels by Elaine Pagels is fascinating reading.

I haven't read it but I am leaning towards making the effort -- Thomas Jefferson's “The Philosophy of Jesus of Nazareth" which is just Jesus's words only.

That being said, while the Bible's misogyny (some examples) is for the most part not directly attributable to Jeebs himself, doesn't his actions count for something? Out of 12 disciples, not a single worthy woman? I guess there's always the possibility of him being gay

Jim has always been the best of Lloyd's performances. I used to watch this show for only two reasons: Jim, and Elaine (okay, three reasons...Elaine had two of them).

But this role cemented Lloyd's standing in my mind as one of the comedy greats.

Well slap me silly and call me Shirley, I totally missed the fact that Elaine finished the punch-line to that joke the first time around.

I was thinking how rusty they all were. George looks like he's seen some tough times, and Elaine is looking pretty plastic.

I've forgiven Kramer for that whole incident because he owned it in this series of Curb. Good form.

As for bringing Seinfeld back - we have, what, nine series? Ten? That's enough for me. I still laugh like it's the first time every repeat.

Kramer bothers me too.... Elaine has always bothered me : ) ahem....

It was a bit like a Seinfeld parody though, but I guess with one shot they have to cover all the bases.

Only THE best episode in the entire series! This is the one where Elaine gets Seinfeld a deal at a car dealership because she's dating Puddy. This episode contains some of the most memorable Seinfeld skits, including the "High five" and Costanza getting shafted out of the last donut and a candy bar in a vending machine -- how did you miss it?!

Late to the party as usual. Hey, where do I drop off this toast....er...fine Italian glassware set? Oh, and I ordered the fish. Free bar right? Woohoo, alright! Live band! (starts dancing like Elaine from Seinfeld) I'm so happy for both of you, Mr. and Mrs.....uh....Today?

And you guys didn't stop to see me! I'm hurt.
