It's not illegal. It was in the middle of a small controversy for a few months, that's all.


Just read Reuters and they said france did ban Red Bull for 12 years and lifted the ban in 2008. I still think it's illegal to advertise it though, I remember a problem with the Red Bull team in F1 there recently.

A question for those with more "seniority" than me: would the original video of him jumping off of the Eiffel Tower with his parachute cloak be considered snuff? The posting guidelines say, "The presence of human fatality is acceptable and not considered "snuff" if presented as a limited portion of a lengthy educational, informative news report or documentary. Our definition of "snuff" does include but is not exclusive to any short clip in which a human fatality occurs whether or not any victims are actually visible on camera."

As the clip is less than 2 minutes long does it constitute "snuff" even if it has historical relevance?

I've been inside the "cockpit"/engineer booth of that train. They exhibited it on a barge in Paris across the Eiffel tower last year. INCREDIBLY cramped - so much so that it could induce an attack of claustorphobia if you're susceptible to that sort of thing.

It was a very cool display - and a lucky fluke that we happened to be there the right day! The French even gave out SNCF-TGV souvenir hats, which was a nice twist. And I was insulted for having "un grand tête américain" by an old Parisian woman while in line too. Very cliched.

Smart use of editing to keep it from being boring.
