Mass Shootings On The Rise

newtboy says...

If you want an assault style firearm, better get to it. There's a chance for a ban, albeit not a good one. Moscow Mitch won't allow a vote on gun regulations if he can help it, and Trump already indicated he's only interested if they combine a limited gun bill with anti-immigration (wall) funding.

Side note....can anyone tell me why Chicago isn't getting reported? Two mass shootings there on Sunday, 7 dead, 46 wounded. It's not even mentioned on national news, but El Paso and Dayton are dominating it. What gives?

I would say it's time for me to buy another gun before a ban hits, but I just don't think I can. This is too much.

Thunderbirds Arrive At Hill AFB

Fatal crash Daiton airshow

Shepppard says...

Yes this is wrong, there was a video of some rebellion on here not long ago, where a man was shot and killed in front of the camera. It was not part of an educational clip, didn't give anybody awareness of what was going on in the situation, all it showed was life being snuffed out. It was also removed because of sift snuff guidelines.

Wars happen, lives end. We post videos that educate on what happened during those times, but not exclusively showing "HOLY HELL THAT GUY JUST GOT SHOT IN THE HEAD!"

Animals die, yes, and videos are posted of it, but generally never exclusively "Hey, look at this cow get shot in the head", but generally more of a nature thing.

This, is literally two peoples last seconds of being alive before a fatal crash, I'm gathering from Dayton, but only because that's in the title, this is snuff, regardless of weather or not it's graphic (And no, where as we don't see body parts flying, or blood everywhere.. at least I assume we don't, only watched it once.) it's still shocking. Worse still is the fact that I don't think this was tagged as *Nsfw, and being as videosift is a FAMILY site, that's a definite "not okay" thing for kids to see.

If you don't want to play by the rules, just don't bother posting things. But this is 100% against them.

Blind Woman Tasered By A Cop

eric3579 says...

In Dayton, Ohio, citizens are upset over an incident where a blind woman, Denise Harris, 49, suffering from cancer was tasered by police — apparently while she was on the floor. The police insist that they needed to taser her “to control her hand movement.”

Family and neighbors insist that they told police that she was sick and was afraid. The initial police statements indicate that she was hit with the taser to facilitate cuffing — a very problematic rationale.

The police were reportedly trying to arrest Harris’ son on suspicion of robbery when things got ugly. In fairness, police often face hostile relatives in arrest situations, but it remains unclear why a taser was needed to be used for cuffing a blind cancer-victim (who is also suffering from diabetes).

Sarah Palin as VP? (Election Talk Post)

joedirt says...

Ewwwwww!! La-di-da. She is from a suburb where HOW MANY commute every day?

ZOMG! That is like one stadium worth of college football fans back here in mainland America. That is like the smallest suburb of any large city back on the Continent. I mean, like Dayton is bigger than that.

You are crazy if you think mayor of po-dunk Alaska counts as executive experience, whereas anyone with Washington political experience doesn't count.

She is a cynical ploy to distract people from how old and ugly (on the inside) that McCain is. Just like Obama picked the opposite of himself, McCain picked a decent, probably caring human being who isn't near death, who isn't riddled with cancer or hatred. I'll bet Palin doesn't even support torture.

Man takes a bubble bath in Burger King sink!

mintbbb says...

I live in Ohio, and this was posted today in local 10TVNews's site:
(*chuckle* 'The video had been removed by Tuesday night.')

XENIA, Ohio — Burger King Corp. said Tuesday it has parted ways with an employee who was recorded taking a soapy bath in the restaurant's utility sink.

The nearly four-minute video, which was posted Thursday on MySpace.com, shows him taking the bath to celebrate his birthday. The employee, Timothy Tackett, refers to himself only as "Mr. Unstable" in the video and appears to be naked.

Tackett, 25, told Dayton television station WDTN that he made the video for his MySpace page because it was his birthday and he wanted to do something to entertain fans and friends who follow his aspirations to become a full-time singer. The video had been removed by Tuesday night.

Tackett said he would like to apologize to Burger King Corp., and he said he regretted taking the bath because it led to the firing of the employee who did the recording, as well as the restaurant's shift manager.

"She had three cash registers and a safe open," he said Tuesday in an interview posted on WDTN's Web site. "What can you do when an employee is already in the sink?"

Tackett said he's also pleased that more people have gone to his MySpace page in recent days to listen to his music because of the attention he's received from the video.

Burger King spokeswoman Denise Wilson said earlier Tuesday that two employees involved in the incident were fired and another quit. She declined to identify the employees or say whether the man who took the bath quit or was fired. Tackett said he was fired.

The sink is used to clean large pieces of equipment, said Greene County Health Commissioner Mark McDonnell. Bacteria or viruses on the skin could have potentially contaminated equipment, but there have been no reports of any customers becoming ill.

McDonnell said he dispatched an inspector to the restaurant, but at that point the restaurant had sterilized the sink. Tackett told WDTN he spent more than an hour cleaning the sink just after the bath.

Miami-based Burger King, the nation's No. 2 hamburger chain, said in a statement that it also disposed of all kitchen tools and utensils used in the incident and is retraining the staff in health and sanitation procedures.

Tackett said the restaurant's regular customers shouldn't worry about eating there again.

"It's totally a safe place to eat," he told the TV station. "I would eat there still, but I'm not allowed."

Cool, thanks for that, Rembar.

Sorry for the late response, I've been terribly busy warring on a sift about "remote viewing", of all things. What I wrote to Jonny:

"By the by, I took a bit to go look for my notes I took while watching that video of the cat on LSD, but I can't find the right binder. The info I've found is this: the experiments were performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base by Dayton, OH as part of the MKULTRA project. I'll check around a bit more and tell you if I find my notes.

*edit* The video uploader says: I took this clip from 'Thomas Pynchon: A Journey Into the Mind of TP', a movie-documentary by Donatello & Fosco Dubini (2001). Hope that helps."

Can you provide some exposition on the full version and/or point us to a video link?

LadyBug, I understand where you're coming from, but I can't say I agree. I don't have time to do an informative writeup, but I had to watch the full version of the USAF LSD experiments and then comment on the process and results. I certainly wasn't sifting this video for giggles, I was hoping to add some info, but I got distracted trolling drforeverclear. *sigh*. I had been hoping to make this more of an informative post, rather than something "for posterity" or "you need to see this" or whatnot.

To this end, I am posting a documentary about the Milgram experiment and others.
