Today’s MAGA terrorist - Patrick McCaughey. Convicted on 9 counts of assaulting police with deadly weapons, including trying to crush one to death using a riot shield and the force of the crowd, pulling off his gas mask and gouging his eyeball out with his thumb.
Should have been charged with a minimum of two counts of attempted murder of a police officer and gotten double death penalty, but is facing 16.5 years.

Today’s bonus MAGA corruption…Pubic hair Thomas’s lame excuse, that he’s known the Nazi Crow for 25 years and accepted hospitality from an old friend (who he met 5+ years after becoming a justice when Crow started showering him and his wife with extravagant “gifts” (with strings attached) and asking for favorable rulings), and that he asked his colleagues and they said (wrongly) that he doesn’t have to report “gifts” from “friends”, even million dollar gifts from “friends” of his position on the court, not his person…that’s an admission that ALL the Righty justices are in cahoots with this bribery scheme and are definitely also on the take. They instructed him on how to take the bribes and hide them. He really exposed the total illegitimacy these unqualified far right “judges” brought to the court and the destruction and death their cash bribe motivated rulings have been.

Today’s MAGA hypocrisy- N Dakota Republicans just cancelled free school lunches for poor children whose parents make $4.86 an hour (minimum wage for servers) saying the pennyless parents need to pay, followed immediately by increasing the amount legislators (themselves) get for free lunches to $45 per day (more than poor people earn with full time employment) because food is expensive.

Since you are Russian I’m guessing you know “Pravda” (“Truth” in Russian) the Russian propaganda publication is the model for Truth social (Toth Senchal), the MAGA social media Pravda.

Another high ranking Republican who is apparently the best friend of another convicted child porn trader has quit in disgrace.

"BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota’s longest-serving state senator announced Monday that he would resign following a report that he had traded scores (over 70) of text messages with a man jailed on child pornography charges.

Republican Ray Holmberg, who rose to become one of the state’s most powerful lawmakers in a career that spanned 46 years, said he would resign effective June 1. His term was scheduled to end on Nov. 30 and he already had announced in March that it would be his last.

“Recent news stories have become a distraction for the important work of the legislative assembly during its interim meetings,” Holmberg, 79, said in a statement announcing his resignation. “I want to do what I can, within my power, to lessen such distractions.”

Maybe don’t be friends with convicted child molesters and kiddie porn purveyors, that might be a good way to lessen, even avoid such distractions…but that would mean ostracizing some of their Republican colleagues and the party leader(s).

You like to shout baseless claims of debauchery among Democrats, I like to point you to specific cases of actual proven debauchery among Republicans, and there’s a never ending stream of them to choose from….child molesters, kiddie porn purveyors, sex traffickers, best friends and wives to child molesters, etc….I know facts and convictions vs baseless claims can’t convince you of anything, you still say the 2020 election was stolen despite there being more evidence that 2016 was stolen, you still say Covid was a Democratic hoax and blame Democrats for Trump’s lack of response and shirking responsibility, you still claim CRT in grade school is a thing, you still claim Jan 6 was a peaceful tour of the capitol by patriots and also an attack on democracy by BLM and ANTIFA, you think Portland is a lawless wasteland of smoldering cinders….facts are for liberals.
(Btw- if Jan 6 wasn’t a Republican led, planned, and executed crime like we all know it was, why were republican representatives (Congressman Ronny Jackson, Congressman Andy Biggs, and Congressman Mo Brooks) petitioning Trump for pardons for their parts in it directly after the failed coup? You know that accepting a pardon is an admission of guilt, both logically and by law.)

Who is this fucking moron?
This kind of brainless provocation by falsehood is why religion should be abolished. It's nothing more than a xenophobic weapon today, and has lost any and all redemptive value it might have once had.

Side note- be sure to boycott products from these states if you want your displeasure noticed. Money speaks far louder than words today, it worked in N Carolina.
In no particular order, the state's knowingly violating the constitution in a disingenuous plot to erode women's rights to self autonomy are-Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Utah, Arkansas, Idaho, Wyoming, Mississippi, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, N Dakota, S Dakota, Missouri.

The fight over the Dakota Access Pipeline, explained

bobr3940 says...

Every story I see on this situation covers the emotional hot topics of they might endanger the tribes water supply, they might be trampling on sacred burial sites, they aren't being nice to the protestors.

So what are the facts? How was the company handling the concerns of the many people affected by the pipeline not just this one tribe. I have seen only one story that covered this and I have to say that it appears that the company has tried to work with them. https://www.facebook.com/notes/scott-gates/on-the-standing-rock-tribes-dakota-pipeline-protest-/10154529600627457

I would love to see a story from the tribe perspective that shows. something that goes something like this. "we contacted the company on these dates and expressed out concerns over these topics (see attached letters, forms, online entries etc) we have not heard back or did not like their response (see attached responses). We worked with them and offered X alternatives... etc"

If I could see a fact filled version of their story that matches the one I linked above I would be more inclined to fully back them.

BARBARIC Dakota Access Oil Police Cause Mass Hypothermia

For the police that are pulling out, your countercurrentnews quoted the Dan County Sherrifs office as pulling out and not planning to return. The local news link they reference though tells much more than just the biased spin countercurrent put on it. Sheriff Mahoney cites the reason for pulling out was that their agreed on involvement was only ever for the week they were there and no future funding was offered so they would be sacrificing local services to go back.

Even more glaring an omission if Mahoney is to be championed as countercurrent did, he described his officers experience at the pipeline as follows:

“Our people have shined, they report they stood in line and were confronted with baseball bats and tire irons and being sprayed with wasp spray,” he said. “Our deputies said there was a need for law enforcement.”

The full local story free of countercurrent's extremely prejudiced and biased stripping is below if you want a more full story. Surprisingly, the police officers aren't all just showing up on the protesters own property to start shooting them with water, tear gas, and rubber bullets while the protesters huddle up and sing kumbaya.

interesting how you classify the protesters as angry mob and rioters.

see,
this all on tribal land, owned by native americans, who welcomed this "angry mob" and "rioters" and the police are there NOT at the behest of the tribal elders, but DAPL,a private corporation attempting to push a private pipeline, for private profit, through privately owned land.

DAPL had even hired private mercenaries to keep the landowners off their construction site, who used attack dogs, mace, rubber bullets and worked alongside the police.it got so bad at one point that they had pulled police officers from FIVE states to keep those pesky landowner rabble down!

on a good note, those ancillary officer teams bowed out after a few days, saying that it was immoral and they were unwilling to participate.so the "police" you are referring to are most likely private security.

Funny how the perspective you tell the story from changes it entirely even while keeping to the overall same facts.....and then add some context.

I was mostly wanting to point out that there was perhaps a touch of bias in the original description.

You are right about it being privately owned land involved. However, the construction and the original encampment and protests were all taking place on land that was privately owned:
Protesters have set up teepee and tent camps on land owned by Energy Transfer Partners to slow the progress of construction and have threatened to block the highway.

http://time.com/4548566/dakota-access-pipeline-standing-rock-sioux/

Since then the camps I understood have been moved off and the highway is now being blocked by the authorities to keep the trespassers from returning, but any references to the basic facts on that if I've got them wrong are welcome.

I'm not especially upset about illegal trespassing and obstruction of the construction to make a point and to protest that the law is wrong and all that. I am particularly bothered though when people begin to feel the case isn't strong enough and start lying about some of the parts that might cause people to question their methods.

Armed Oregon Militants Not Guilty, Dakota Activists Aressted

entr0py says...

The heavy handed crackdown on the Dakota Access protesters and the acquittal of the Bundys are both pretty infuriating, though the video seems to be comparing two very different parts of the story.

The acquittal was totally down to a jury, not the actions of law enforcement. For their part the FBI shot to death one of the Oregon militia members (and it sounds like it was justified). Still that's quite a bit worse than being maced.
