Canadian principal wrestles student to the ground

notarobot says...

Graham Creighton Jr. High is about a ten minute walk from where I grew up.
The kind of crap where students think it's okay to push (kick/slap/assault etc.) teachers has been going on there for years. It is not okay. The kid should not have tried to run away from the principal when he was asked to stop, nor should he have tried to push the principal or tried to get away.

The kid in the video is my friend's cousin.
When I asked my friend about this last night he said "Knowing my cousin, he probably deserved it."

There's been a study done disproving any positive link between religiosity and societal health - in fact, there is a negative correlation:

That's the study I was looking for! Thanks, Kymbos.

if you look hard enough you can find any study you want. Just try not to read the methodology, it might weaken your confidence in the conclusion.

Yes, thanks Kymbos. After looking at those charts, it has only re-enforced my desire to move to Japan. Lowest percentage of people who take the bible literally, highest percentage of people who accept human evolution.

How's the suicide rate? How's freedom of the press?

I love how even the Irish attend mass more than Americans, yet more of them accept human evolution, and fewer of them "absolutely believe in god." Hehe, Catholics never fail to amaze me...

So you thought religion created good morals?

Really? I graduated from high school in 1985. Who knows, maybe we ran into each other once. While you were in Omaha, if you ever bumped into a man who was so handsome that he made you want to become gay, well, you guessed it: I bumped into him too.

Catholic school and Nebraska? No wonder your messed up. I used to live in the Omaha area too. from 1984-87. I was lucky though, I can't remember much of my time there.

Wow, I'm originally from Omaha. Grew up at 3639 Hascall St, went to Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School on 32nd and Ed Creighton Blvd, then went to Gross Catholic High School, and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. So it's safe to say I'm an Omaha boy.

That town's a lot bigger since I left there in 1994. Now it has TWO traffic lights.

Glad to hear your back on your feet.
