Lessons from 2,000+ Interviews with Broken People

"(...) I wonder why you believe he should he be coddled?"

- I'm not saying he should be coddled anymore than anyone else here. He did something humane and cool, and that's what everyone here has been asking him to do (each in their own way; mea culpa etc), but instead of saying "hey, that was really a cool video. Thanks.", it was time to take shots at him. I make no secret of where my feelings are on him, his politics and the world at large, but I also feel that cool things should be rewarded, especially in this case and in this place and at this time.

"Are you saying he doesn't follow the golden rule, to treat others as you would have them treat you? I thought disingenuous discussions dripping with disrespect was what he wants."

- Congratulations, then, you just gave him everything he wanted and lowered yourself in the processes. It's not for others to follow the Golden Rule, the point is you're the one who's supposed to live by it even if others don't. If you blame him for not being the bigger man, you should at least try to be that man himself.

Christ knows there'll be enough ugliness for everyone involved the other 364.

FWIW, Merry Christmas to you, BSR, all the fun and raucous people who make Sift a daily view -- and that includes Bob.

I "yell" (I've never all caped at him that I remember) at Bob because he brings derisive and divisive lies and bat shit insanity into nearly everything, not because his lies and insanity are usually political. Just sayin'.

Bob doesn't censor himself when adding some race based or otherwise derisive political jabs on other people's non political, humane, humanitarian, or cool videos, I wonder why you believe he should he be coddled? Are you saying he doesn't follow the golden rule, to treat others as you would have them treat you? I thought disingenuous discussions dripping with disrespect was what he wants.

Edit: I think the response to his comment here is warranted, since his comment is so completely self unaware. He's spent years here spewing hatred, he hates liberals with a passion, and now he hates anyone who's not pro-Trump with a burning hell fire. If he believes what he wrote, he should know he's been hurting himself for decades. Somehow I don't really think he sees that.

Please don't.
Just don't.
Everyone yells at Bob because they say he brings politics into things, then he posts something really humane and cool and he gets this in response.
Spirit of the season, spirit of the video, just plain humanity, whatever reason you choose, just one time let it go.

Bowling Robot Serves Up a Strike || ViralHog

I hate to be a buzzkill, but I'm pretty sure this is CG. With the forces involved, that arm would have to be very very very securely bolted into the floor, and... it doesn't look like it is.

Still a cool video and idea though.

FPV drone pilot is invited to film a power plant demolition

That's why I said "assume", and listed the "parameters" etc... if the hiring commission is for that type of video, then it's a fail. Is that not reasonable?

Conversely, if the commission is to just make a cool video for marketing, then it's a win if you like it Different assumption, different purpose, different perspective. I have no problem with that.

To me, the "corporate" guys seem/might not be that happy about the execution, but the Drone Racers Team sure are ecstatic. I can understand that, of course, it's a rare opportunity for them.

I take professional photos for architects (banks, high-end restaurants, retail & offices, etc). They set out what I need to capture: furniture, electrical outlets, height and space relation... all need to be in-frame, properly and neatly placed; garbage & plants, office supplies hidden, staff out of the picture, etc...i.e. parameters. Photos that I give them are often different from what I would take in the scene from an artistic perspective. Perhaps that warped by perspective on this video.

So how do you explain why everyone seemed extremely happy with what he captured? Surely if he had botched what he was suppose to do they would not have been so impressed with the footage. I assume they got exactly what they wanted.

False facts about Star Trek many think are true

poolcleaner says...

Ok, these are cool and all, but any legit Trekker/ie (BOTH terms have been used by varied alumni cast members and fans to mean whatever they want it to mean) knows these things. Anyone who has watched every episode is like "Are these not obvious facts?"

Spock's emotions were even referenced in the JJ reboot. The beam me up thing is already memed. And ST:TNG practically showcases the burreaceacy of Starfleet as something Picard can elloquently rebutt.

But cool video, this is favorited so i can just send it to people who aren't ultra nerds. (My wife is actually the legit Trekker in the family tho -- i set her ringtone to "It's been a long time" because she hates that folky intro song and i know it annoys her that it's Star Trek music hahahahaaaaa...
