VideoSift has a rule about dupes. You posted a video that was already a dupe. I found your video when someone else posted the same video and knew it was a dupe. I searched for the original and found it as well as yours. So I dupeof'ed their video and your video into the original video.

Not trying to be a dupeof commando, but rules are rules. If you don't agree with what I did, feel free to speak to one of the admins.

Demolition of a Skyscraper (38 seconds)

Nithern says...

I guess it would be to much to ask, to see a video of a building being destroy, without all the 9/11 conspiracy idiots ranting about alien's up their butt.

How building 1 & 2 collapse has been studied, restudied, and studied even further. The conspiracy regarding those two building's collapse takes tidbits of sequence, and say, the missing parts will justify the conspiracy once found. If, and IF, there was a conspiracy, don't you think SOMEONE, would have grown a conscious by now, to say something? Show evidence that it was an inside job?

Oh yeah, cus if such a person did, they would be killed by black ops, commando-style, and all real evidence would simply disappear, right?

Now, if you want to disprove EVERYONE, and that it had to be a controlled demolish, then just be a Mythbuster. Make a FULL replical of the WTC (building 1 or 2, since they are the same). Put a few tens of millions of dollars worth of office material (computers, chairs, desks, etc) within it. Then, crash a BIG plane in to it, and test the theory.

You just need a few billion dollars to pull it off. Good luck getting that kind of dough to blow....

An 11-year old plays Contra for the first time

ShakaUVM says...

Gamers today are seriously spoiled.

They don't even have health boxes on the ground in FPSs any more - you just go hide around a corner for 5 seconds and you regenerate up to full. It would seriously blow a kid's mind that people would take the time to beat games like Super Mario Bros 2 or Bionic Commando. I did it, and the thrill you get from beating a hard game is much better than any of these checkpointed/infinite retries games we have today. (Of course, Contra was so ridiculously hard I only beat it with the Konami Code.)

While I loved Bioshock, I hated how bloody easy it was since you'd just pop out of a resurrection chamber every time you died. I'd get bored during a Big Daddy battle and just keep respawning on him over and over again until he went down... about halfway through I decided to just ignore the chambers entirely and play the game without dying.

Nithern says...

I'm one of the few who actually beat Bionic Commando on the NES. You know, the game that was intensely impossible to get through on certain levels? The one with no save feature? The one that took nearly six hours to play through? Yeah, that one.

But at that time, games like The Legend of Zelda, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, and Contra, were the fun games. Before that time, for computer games, was ones like Empire, Wing Commander, Space Quest, and even Zork. And before those games: Pong. While the graphics of games have improved tremdously, the game play has remained a constant.

Castlevania 2, Rescue the Embassy, Russian Attack, Jackal, JAWS, and others, were enjoyable games for their day. COD, WoW, EQ, and others, that are popular now, will soon be retired in favoror of newer, more graphic intensive games in 5-10 years.

The most awkward chair commercial ever!

pmkierst says...

This has made my day.

Also, I would like one of those chairs,

And, indeed, under many situations (especially those not involving zippers), commando is indeed the most comfortable, but my shock at seeing it in a commercial is unmeasured.

Shit, I already don't wear underwear a lot, so this MUST be the chair I always dreamed about! I have gone years in commando. Dudes right, most comfortable.

See, I could make Commando and call it an adaptation of All My Children. I'm sure many people would prefer my movie to the source material, but that would not make it a good adaptation.

Actually, I kinda of want to see that movie... All my Children with lots of explosions and one-liners... I'm there!

Constantine-lucifer confronts gabriel (spoiler)

budzos says...

Ponce, it's not a love-it-or-hate-it movie. In the comic book nerd discussions I've had with people who actually read the Alan Moore or Garth Ennis stuff (important, if you've read other shit you probably read some bad comics), most people look at it this way: It's a fine movie, a good movie, but a bad Hellblazer adaptation. And it is a bad Hellblazer adaptation. You say you're not crazy about the comic to begin with. So the fact that you prefer the movie to the comics (which you keep saying you're not all that familiar with) doesn't make it a good adaptation.

See, I could make Commando and call it an adaptation of All My Children. I'm sure many people would prefer my movie to the source material, but that would not make it a good adaptation.
