NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON A LION☝
What kind of cologne does he wear I wonder.
'Our gun laws will change': New Zealand Prime Minister
Well, I actually need you. You keep me employed picking up your victims.
BTW, think you can change to a different cologne?
COME AT ME, BRO!

This is what happens when you don't respond to ATC
"On Feb 20th 2017 Air Navigation Services Czech Republic reported, that the actual communication for the hand off from Bratislava to Prague at 15:53Z had been correct (frequency 132.890MHz transmitted and acknowledged), however, the crew subsequently tuned frequency 132.980MHz, the crew did not monitor the emergency frequency. Prague Center spotted another Jet Airways aircraft, flight 9W-122 from Delhi (India) to London Heathrow, flying under control of Rhein Control (Germany) south of the Czech Republic, via Rhein Control and 9W-122 an ACARS message was transmitted to 9W-118 asking them to contact (Prague Center) frequency 132.065MHz. When 9W-118 reported on that frequency at 16:26Z (loss of communication thus lasted for 33 minutes), the aircraft was already in German Airspace and was instructed to contact Rhein Control. Czech ATC immediately informed their military counterpart (Czech control and reporting center) that contact had been re-established."

The crew swapped some digits on channel handover that lead to a comms blackout of 33 minutes. Euro jets already in the air intercepted the passenger jet over Germany and escorted to England.
Those boys and girls don't mess around.
Why you shouldn’t drive slowly in the left lane
Rechtsfahrgebot FTW
Seriously I just finished a ca. 550 km drive from Fehmarn to Cologne and it is so comfortable to hang in the middle or right lane and only accelearte to pass. Sure sometimes you have to pass quite often, but as long as you are passing and driving faster no one is going to block you.
Disturbing Muslim 'Refugee' Video of Europe
I just thought I´d drop by and mention the above was written a couple of days before the whole Cologne New Years Eve clusterf**k. Now women in Cologne (and some other places in Europe) are asked by authorities to keep an arms length away from men and dress and behave reasonably. These instructions have in turn led to several street performances by naked "artists" so we might yet win the cultural war.

My views are heavily biased as well, just from a different point of view. Most of the discussion over here is fueled by misinformation and emotion.
And yes, some people outright refuse to put the blame on the individual. Can't have a proper discussion about anything with those folks. In any case, the laws DO apply to everyone equally, but enforcement has been just as lax in Cologne as it was regarding the hundreds of cases of arson I mentioned. Cost-cutting measures everywhere.
Additionally, what most people outside this country seem unable to understand is our problem with hate speech. It's not "just words" if you have a history where these words quickly turned into blood on the streets. Right-wing extremists and even outright Nazis still are a problem over here. People should keep that in mind before they parade their First Amendment before us -- different culture. Though discussion in general is somewhat lackluster over here, no matter the topic. Used to be better, but people try to avoid confrontation whenever possible...
Anyway, I'd say leave the video as it is. It might be interesting to see how folks react to it.
right on man.
glad i went to someone who is actually there.
i suspected a certain bias from this guy (although i adore his rants, they crack me up).
should i dump the video.biased as it is?
i mean,i didnt post it to reveal some contextualized understanding of the situation.i just loved this guys passion and rage lol.
or should i copy/paste your response to me to add a more balanced and nuanced understanding of the situation?
regardless, thank you for your time and your most excellent breakdown my friend.
you seriously rock brother!

The mixture of valid points, exaggerations, ignorance of context and completely false information makes it a bit... difficult to digest.
Generally speaking, a lot of errors were made regarding Cologne.
The police fucked up entirely and basically was unable to maintain control of the square in front of the central train station where shitloads of theft, sexual harassment and even a few rapes were committed.
The public media did not report on it properly. They did, in fact, refuse to report it at all at first. But that doesn't stem from an obession with PC nor is it special treatment for refugees/immigrants -- it's good old-fashioned pro-government bias. A few days later, they were all playing the same tune again: bad immigrants, bad muslims, need more law-and-order, close the borders, need new laws, etc. Same shit as always.
And yes, you cannot expect all these refugees to be model citizens from the get-go. Different culture, different language, segregation, no work permit, no familiy, maybe first-hand experience with war -- they are bound to commit crimes, assuming otherwise would be naive.
And accepting a million refugees might have been a bad idea after cutting down public personnel and services for two decades straight. But what's done is done. The question now is what can be done to improve the situation for everyone involved. What doesn't help is further segregation (refugee camps), private security (aka mobs hunting brown people, happened in Cologne already) or downplaying the massive problems.
As for that wierd tirade from 1:07 onwards about true Germans: except for all the people from Bohemia, Prussia and Silesia, aka Poland; or the millions of immigrants from Italy and Turkey; or the folks from former Yugoslavia; etc. Two thirds of the bloody country has family names that mark them as n-th generation immigrant. Half of my extended family is from what is now Russia (Kaliningrad) while my family name is distinctively Dutch. "Paid German taxes" gives a hint to his motivations. Folks in East Germany didn't pay German taxes: do they count? Refugees from former German enclaves ("Russlanddeutsche") didn't pay German taxes, nor did they speak proper German: do they count?
All in all a very misguided rant, too eager to abuse real fuck-ups for his own ideology. Rape culture, SJW, PC -- doesn't apply in this case. It's small government, media with establishment bias, a general inability for open discussion of problems, and a shitload of incompetent arseholes in positions of power (e.g.: chief of police in Cologne, gone now).
By the way, he forgot to mention the hundreds(!) of refugee shelters that were set on fire during the last few months. Bands of immigrants committing crimes are a problem, bands of Germans committing crimes are a problem.
We had a six digit number of prime suspects for trouble already: young, male, unemployed, un(der)educated, no fucking hope. It's the main cause for the persisting problems with Nazis in East Germany: no hope. Adding a million additional people, lots of them with equally bad prospects, without any serious effort to integrate them is bound to blow up in our faces eventually.
The best thing that can happen for the entire Eurozone would be a massive integration program in Germany. And by massive I don't mean a meagre billion Euros. We're talking 15-20 billion a year, for at least five years. The more the better. Even in the current economic regime, it would be much cheaper than the repercussions from staying the current course: doing fuck all.
i love this guy.he is sooo pissed and is an absolute rage machine, but i was curious your take on this situation.
is this guy making valid points?
i know that an influx of 1 million refugees in a country with 60 million has to have changed the demographics of germany substantially, but since i am not there and naked ape does have a point in regards to media tap-dancing around the harsh realities.
so i would love your input on this dudes rage induced rant:

Going to see Rush in Cologne in June, yay me.
Cyclic Elevator (lift)
>> ^themogulman:
LOL it's called a Paternoster: [url redacted]
An olden day elevator from before the interwebs. Obviously wouldn't be allowed in a nanny state like the US or UK
There are in fact two operational Paternosters in the UK. One in the university library bulding in Essex and one (the highest Pater Noster in the world) in the Arts Tower of the University of Sheffield.
I just found that on wikipedia and I also found out the Germany seems to be the country with (by far) the most operational Paternosters in the wolrd (nearly 200) and that there are in fact ten operational ones in Cologne.
Cyclic Elevator (lift)
Yep, this is called a "Pater noster" ("Our Father" , i.e. The Lord's Prayer) because of the construction of the elevator "cabins" reminiscent of the beads on a rosary. There are at least five of those still operational in my home city of Cologne, Germany. The one I used most is in Cologne's oldest (and one of Germany's oldest) highrise buildings, the "Hansahochhaus" and reaches up 17 floors (19, including the turn-arounds).
To answer lucky760's question: Yes, the cabins do go sideways at the top and bottom and you are not supposed to ride around in them when they do (Of course, I did).
Guild Wars 2 - What A Wonderful World
Beauty isn't limited to the world. I swear to god its pretty much impossible to make a ugly GW2 character. I tried, but they all came out looking like supermodels. Even the men look like they belong in a cologne commercial.
And yeah, I played the beta weekends pretty solidly. Combat is fun, but I think what kept me playing was the desire to explore the next area. Some of the quests felt somewhat monotonous, but the combat the and environments didn't so I'm quite looking forward to release (and the other 2 races)
