Amy Winehouse -- Monkey Man

She looks like she wants to be some where else. Sorry, but i have to say, she did a terrible job on this classic song.

She acted like this throughout the whole of the rest of the gig. Amy was a glorious recording artist, with considerable songwriting talent and a voice in a class of its own, and Mark Ronson was the perfect production partner for her talent. The albums are amazing. But she was usually pretty dreadful live, and not because she couldn't sing live, it's simply that she couldn't sing live while drunk/high, which she did all too often.

Way to take a classic song and turn it into shit. Also, are music video of these type nowadays nothing but a bunch of girls shaking their booties? What ever happened to actual dance? Ya know... footworks, a few synchronized moves, and whatnot? I mean, it doesn't have to be something ridiculous or retarded like dubstep but c'mon... things have been pretty boring since Michael Jackson's departure.

I'm not a huge fan of Acca Dacca, but they do have a few classic songs (Thunderstruck has such an awesome build up), and I can't help but have huge respect for how much success they've had for a band from our little humble *downunder country

To draw crowds of that size and with that passion says something for sure.

Sounds really good

they look like right tits singing it there will be so much unsubstantiated bullshit associated with this typ of singing , waring specif clothes , formal rehearsals , and most likely forcing them to only sing classical songs or songs with a religious context.

( i dont have a problem with having people doign the classical stuff and waring the uniforms in general its just thats all you realy see , and then when sumone deviates from that its only in a usa has tellent have people brake dancing and slap an electro beat on it obvouse kind of way , rather than a natural development of the ganra. )

This video brings something very important to light. I will never recall a single one of his sweeps or any of his technically impressive double tapped solos. When he remains true to the song's melody, it's straight forward, ordered, and stands out.

Pop music strives for the perfection of appealing to what the human brain craves: simplicity.

This is a baroque cover of a classical song. People will disparage the original as simplistic, boring. But the Classical period followed the Baroque period for a reason.

It's often forgotten that punk was not an outright rejection of pop music; it was a stripping down of pop music. It was an oversimplification, welcomed by many.

I'm drunk and don't have much in the way of a conclusion to tie my thoughts together, but the more astute readers will understand what I'm getting at.
