John Stossel does a segment on Global Warmin

MycroftHomlz says...

The debate is over whether or not the globe is warming. John Stossel neglected to report that despite winning that prize for his paper with Spencer, John Christy's analysis was called into question and a subsequent article was published by a different group which came to the opposite conclusion.

Now, onto the consensus.

In a paper in Science recently, almost a 1000 papers were looked at for the last 15 years, absolutely none contradicted the thesis that the globe was warming. And 75% supported the claim that the cause was anthropagenic.

These four scientist are very well known for their opinion, because they are probably the only four who have it.

Sarah Silverman On Letterman

budzos says...

She dropped by the Stern show on Wednesday morning to smell Richard Christy's balls and putrid asshole. He had not showered since Sunday, had taken a couple martial arts classes, and is generally just a filthy motherfucker. It was moderately funny, but one of those bits where the comedy is all in the setup.

Parallel Parking Record

JustT1m says...

The guys name is Russ Swift. This is from his official website:

"Russ Swift breaks his own Guinness World Record AGAIN Featured on BBC Record Breakers and Record Breakers Gold. In 1995 Russ Swift established a world record for "parallel parking". By using a hand-brake-turn the car was parked in a space between two other cars which was only 40cm longer than the car itself. Time taken was under 3 seconds. Russ first used this manoeuvre in the award winning Montego "Car Park" commercial in 1988. On 29th September 1998 Russ broke this record by parking in a space 35cm longer than the car using a Mini. The record was filmed for BBC Linfords (Christie) Record Breakers. On 17 April 1999 Russ again broke this record by parking in a space 34cm longer than the car again using a Mini Cooper. This record was filmed for Guinness World Records - A programme shown by London Weekend Television in June 99"

Fahrenheit 451

An interesting film and it is always good to see Julie Christie! I prefer the book (I actually found my copy of Bradbury's book left on a desk when helping out in the school library - someone left it behind and never came back to claim it so after a year the head librarian let me have it! Makes a nice parallel with the content - finding the book by chance, reading and memorising parts in case the owner came back for it and treasuring it when it was given to me!) mostly because the film is a bit rough - it was Truffaut's first English-language film and he apparently didn't get on very well with Oskar Werner.

There is also a story that it snowed by chance during filming of that final scene and that when Bradbury saw it he loved that ending.

Fabulous!

*deep breath* I saw Phillip Glass, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Iggy Pop, Gorbachev, Christy Turlington, Susan Sontag, Fran Leibowitz, Lani Guinier, Leontyne Price, Charlie Sheen, Jello Biafra, William Wegman and some Weimaraner, Al Sharpton, Walter Cronkite, several faces I damn well know but can't remember the names for, and a whole bunch of Hey! It's That Guy!s

I could have done without Trump and Laura Bush. Trumpie gets by for this being so NY-centric, given this was the spring of 2002, but Laura's presence was pure ass-kissing.

I'm your conscience: Jamie Foxx destroys awful comic

Christy Moore - Natives ( War 3:33)

Farhad2000 says...

Canadian music video circulated in the service a few years ago. Excellent music from an unknown artist. Scenes are from various exercises ... all » with infantrymen and troopers in Gagetown, New Brunswick, Canada, paratroopers and some archives from WW1 and 2. Very emotional result, better than any recruitment video out there. Enjoy!

The Song is Natives by Christy Moore

For all of our languages we can't communicate
For all of our native tongues we're all natives here
Sons of their fathers' dream the same dream
The sound of forbidden words becomes a scream
Voices in anger, victims of history
Plundered and set aside, grow fat on swallowed pride

With promises of paradise and gifts of beads and knives
Missionaries and pioneers are soldiers in disguise
Saviours and Conquerers, they make us wait
Like fishers of men they wave their truth like bait
But with the touch of a stranger's hand innocence turns to shame
The spirit that dwelt within now sleeps out in the rain

For all of our languages we can't communicate,
For all of our native tongues, we're all natives here
The scars of the past are slow to disappear
The cries of the dead are always in our ears
And only the very safe can talk about wrong and right
Of those who are forced to choose, some will choose to fight
