I'm starting to wish he'd decided to torch a crate of Cheerios instead of a single box - the blaze from those little wholegrain Os is incredible!

Or maybe it's just the plastic bag that's a fire hazard...

The real question is did you like the joke? If you did, laugh. If you didn't, don't laugh.

But to whinge and moan about it just to draw attention to yourself? Now that's funny.

I don't know who pissed in your Cheerios this morning, but I don't appreciate the trolling.

Again, please show me where I was being malicious in my original post. Because you can't. Now run along and get your attention from someone else.

Why would you think that message was directed at you ? Your horse seems a little high if you think that was refering to you specifically. It did take me a wopping couple seconds, the fact it happened to me as well is why I posted that. What turned my " oh for fuck sakes" crank for my video analogy was this phrase

" Why can't videosift remember me for more than two weeks.
I have to log on to this site soo often. Not more than once a day or week, but still so many times"

What that said to me is that you have a problem with logging in once every 7-10 days. So every 7-10 days you have to log in, okay, I can understand how you want to fix the problem, but your wording just sounded like a crying little wiener wanting everything to be perfect. The video has jack all to do with your immediate problem it had to do with the comparison of people bitching about stupid little shit that they should just be happy that it works in the first place.

But that second reply was nothing to do with you. I figured it was time I let you in on the little secret. Lets say you sign in not once a day or once a week but once every ten days, thast three times a month and you make it seems like such great efforts were taken to do so.

CHEERIO !

You just can't let it go can you ;-)

Here's how I use videosift. I open the homepage, then open all videos I want to check out in new tabs. So then I have like 10 tabs open, the result of a selection process.

It is only then that I discover that I am not logged in, and then I have 10 tabs open without me being logged in, and having to log on on every page. Plus, even though the login process is partly Ajax, it is not all Ajax, so you should not attempt to log on when the video is playing, because then it will reload the page. It is frigging annoying, and this is not rocket science to implement.

Tell me how you really feel.

Sheesh, what hockey player pissed in your cheerios this morning?

Personally I like hockey, I think parents and coaches that don't teach their kids to be good sports are definitely a problem in any sport. So I guess I could say I somewhat agree with the last part of your derogatory and somewhat offensive emote.

MSNBC Analyses Police Assault On "Occupy Wall St." Protester

At least you're not a fan of violence. Well... unless it's necessary, which means you should be condemning these cops, as this was definitely a peaceful protest. But I doubt you will, because it's acceptable to assault "dumb kids", right? Especially if they don't think the way you do. If the cops assaulted them, it must be the fault of the protesters, right? Marxist radicals? Really? Really? Do you even read the dross on your screen before you hit the submit button? Your comment seems to be nothing but stream-of-consciousness prattle infected with Foxisms, ditto-head mantra, and the voices in your Cheerios.

EDIT: Why no pretty quote box?

>> ^Winstonfield_Pennypacker:< br />I'm no fan of unnecessary violence. For shame.
But these dummies at the protests need to dial it back, and stop doing things in such a way as to make a police presence necessary. If they would conduct a peaceful prostest that didn't interfere with business and daily traffic then cops wouldn't be needed. If cops weren't needed, then no one would get pepper-sprayed. Takes two to tango, and if protestors don't want cops giving them a hard time then maybe protestors should not be doing crap that gets police called to the scene. Use common sense. Just because you're protesting doesn't mean you need to be a dingus that requires cops around to keep you in line.
And these NYC bozos are tools. Cornel West, and a bunch of other marxist radicals are there and they aren't there to peacefully protest Wall Street excess. They are there to stir people up. These dumb kids going there need to wake up and realize they are being used as someone else's 'useful idiot'. I'm sure this chick didn't go there thinking she was going to end up in a scene where pepper spray got used.

Interesting You know, your visit could well have coincided with the time frame I was talking about listening to "And the band played..." in music class. I'm not entirely sure why the band played Waltzing Matilda (but that link might have some clues). In 1918 the real Australian anthem was "God save the King", our current one wasn't chosen until 1974, but I think Matilda has always been popular. The link to Gallipoli is interesting too. After the war, Mustafa Kemal, who had been commander of the Turkish forces on the day of the invasion wrote a tribute to the Australian troops quoted at the Australian war memorial's web site, http://www.awm.gov.au/encyclopedia/ataturk.asp

"Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side now here in this country of ours... you, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land. They have become our sons as well."

P.S. I got side tracked and forgot that I meant to send you a link to "I was only 19", another sad Australian ballad about returned soldiers.

I've known it was sort of the un-official national anthem for Australia since I was little (I was there when I was 9yrs old), so I guess I've always heard it in an Australian voice.
I also had a music box as a child that had Waltzing Matilda as it's song.

How well known it is to others, I don't know. I always seem to be the one that collects odd little facts.

Lol, nice accent, btw.

Cheerio!

(clears throat, puts on posh British accent) Oh, how embarrasing! I've been caught commiting an Australianism!

How well known is that ballad in your parts? I remember listening to it in primary school music class, many moons ago :, so it hadn't really crossed my mind that it might've had much exposure outside Australia... and yet here's an Irish cover and you seem more familiar with another version.
In reply to this comment by AdrianBlack:
I have always loved story songs/ballads. That was fun to hear in an Irish accent!

Thank you, btw! Tis what I do. *grins*
