Sorry, I was under the impression "wingnut" was a derogative term used to refer to right-wing extremists, but apparently it can be applied to any flavour of political extremism. Not that I'm sure this shooter really fell on any conventional political axis.

MadCow right in one respect. The NPP has not been oriented around 'accomplishments' for most of its existence. NPP awards given to people for accomplishments are the exception rather than the rule. The NPP is a political orientation award. It is a neolib award given to neolibs for pushing neolib dogma. When you keep that reality firmly in mind it makes perfect sense that people like Carter, Gore, and Obama would be thier boys. The NPP is an award that the European socialist left dangles to get movers and shakers to line up and march the way they like. It's that simple.

Huge Daredevil fan here, have a large number of the Frank Miller issues from back in the day, and most of the Bendis/Maleev run as well. I'll never watch the movie again because of the playground fight. Probably the most inept action scene ever filmed on a big budget. I can't see how the director's cut can improve things unless they take out the fucking playground fight.

I thought Colin Farrel's Bullseye was pretty cool though.

The message of the video is such that it's rather snobby of you to declare that they're unworhty of inclusion in the R&R collective.

Yeah, they're part of pop culture - so is TONS of rock music these days, and for the past 50 years or so. If people enjoy something, it's popular. Whether it's bubble-gum pop or popular but meaningful is another story, though - and taking cheap shots like this is low.

R&R is a rather inclusive genre of those who question or ridicule the system. I deliberately fired in the lyrics to auto-justify why, despite the band being a gigantic walking 4-piece bullseye for the anti-emo crowd, it nevertheless belongs in this arena.

The height of irony, of course, is to see bandwagon jumper types grooving/dancing along to this song, most likely completely UNAWARE of the the silliness/hypocrisy of their jamming to it if it's not really the type of music they're into - or if it's just their flavour of the week rather than something they genuinely believe in.

I freaking hate K-Fed but love how deservedly famous comedians (Al included) find an endless amount of jokes to make at his expense.
