Have the entire audience been fed pot brownies? Why are they laughing so much? I know they're german, but jeez "begging the question" gets a laugh?

Street Harassment Of Women In New York - An Art Project

bareboards2 says...

@Shepppard, I think you fully understand the issue of why it is offensive to women to be told to smile all the time.

And I still say -- you guys have got to stop arguing with these videos.

I mean, fer pitys sake, it is a cliche already. "You don't listen to me." What percentage of women say that to their male partners?

Listen. Just .... listen. Empathize. Try to understand. And stop arguing with and intellectualizing about something that isn't your experience. Please.

And you get 500 brownie points for understanding exactly why telling a woman you don't know to "smile" gets very very wearing. Make that 5000 brownie points.

Girl Banned from School for Supporting Friend with Cancer

enoch says...

@ChaosEngine
there will always be snake oil salespeople out there but i do not think that is snipers motivation.

as i stated this is not a black and white paradigm and a healthy diet and early detection are paramount.i am not suggesting that stage 3 lung cancer can be treated by eating pot brownies and bean sprouts.

chemotherapy is a last resort.
it is a hail mary pass.
controlled poisoning is as barbaric as it is tragic.

i think what bothers me most about this subject is not the disagreement between people such as ourselves but rather the pathetic research into what causes cancer.

im not kidding.
go check the numbers on how much is spent on researching the causes on cancer versus the treatment of cancer.
the difference is abysmal and shameful.

the little research into the causes of cancer do tend to point to our diet.surprise surprise...the food we are eating is slowly poisoning us (as some research is suggesting).

check this talk out.super informative,if heavy on the vegan:

*edit:i know this does not make me an expert but my family is in the medical field and my older sisters partner is an oncologist and HE avoids chemo whenever possible.so much of my opinion on this matter has been formed by my conversations with him.

High on the Job

Its my experience that eating pot brownies should never be for the first time pot user, as its a much crazier high then just smoking the shit. Leave edibles to the pros and as the video said a little at a time. Baby steps.

She Says, Can't You Just Listen?! - It's Not About the Nail

Sylvester_Ink says...

A married friend of mine pointed out a bit of wisdom that he finds works very well for him. When she's complaining, he listens and is empathetic. He waits until a later point in time, perhaps the next day to propose a solution. That way, not only is the issue potentially resolved, but he gets brownie points for remembering.

A new Quality? (Sift Talk Post)

oritteropo says...

Some of the apparently no-longer-with us folks are actually still lurking in the shadows, and for the rest I see no reason not to do *backup= and then replace embed. For added sift brownie points you could add the original as a backup at that point in case the newer and shinier ones goes dead.

A way to have the backup embed be the primary straight away would save two steps in this case.
>> ^ctrlaltbleach:

That would be great but often I find that the sifter of a video with poor quality is just no longer with us for whatever reason.
And that puts us in a bind.
Either we allow better quality dupes or we fix those vids where they are needed.
VS is a community we just have to decide whether or not we cut our neighbors grass while they are away.
I have done this myself a couple of times but I always feel hesitant for that very reason.
Should we or shouldn't we? It would be nice if it was officially done with a invocation in my opinion.

See! See! I knew it! They're making mini black holes that are going to end up in long parabolic orbits through the earth, gobbling up a bit more of the earths mass with each passing until there is nothing left but a hollow shell. Aah, stop playing God!
Obviously I'm joking, but brownie points if anyone can tell me which shit scifi novel I read in high school put the idea of internally orbiting black holes destroying the earth in my mind. I can vividly recall it being a very important plot point to some book I've read, I just can't remember where I got it from.
Love these PHD comics, keep posting.

The "Big Mistake of '08" would be a black hole that dropped into the earth.
