Jason Bourne - First Look

Old man shows some major skills!

What Systema looks like once you've reached a certain level

JustSaying says...

The reason MMA fights are more likely ending with getting choked out than having your limbs broken is quite simple. If you are the guy who breaks everybodys shit, nobody will want to fight you anymore because broken bones take you out of fighting (the thing you do to make money), training (the thing that allows to compete on such a level in the first place) and the enjoyments of life (ever tried to masturbate with two broken hands?) for weeks. Weeks or erven months.
Nobody will book you or allow you in their competitions anymore because 30 second fights aren't that interesting (which is why proffesional boxing matches rarely turn out to be like Muhammad Ali vs random guy from the audience), getting qualified and equal fighters as opponents becomes next to impossible (see above) and "liability" would be the word promoters mutter in their sleep while having nightmare about faceless lawyers.
MMA isn't the Kumite from Bloodsport. MMA matches are a business and their cash cows are their fighters otherwise it would be just bum fights. You can't milk a cow with a broken udder. But you can choke its nipples until the milk flows, you just gotta have the right technique.

Prove these techniques in an MMA match or GTFO.

300: Rise of an Empire

artician says...

Yeah!

The original 300 is way more visceral though. It's basically war-porn. It is pretty historically inaccurate, sometimes historically offensive, just like the comic book it's based on.

Also, it has about as much story as a boxing match.

Try going to junior championship boxing match and listen to the kinds of things that parents are yelling to their kids to do to the other fourteen-year-old in the ring. That was an experience in creative language I won't soon forget.

Ridiculous Suckerpunch by Mayweather Knocks Out Ortiz

Yeah I don't really care. You're in a boxing match...NO HUGGING! You get knocked out you are clearly the worse fighter, even if it's on the way to the ring...or in the supermarket a few days afterwords. No sarcasm...because again I don't care.

I'd say the key difference is that you become a boxer; you train for a boxing match; you step into a boxing ring where you know the rules, regulations and risks.
Mike Tyson aside, boxers don't generally just run into the bathroom and punch you in the face when you're stepping out of the shower.

72 votes, and though they have different lighting, they are pretty identical. It was just a matter of how the two fell. And, both were okay afterwards.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Multiplayer Overview

Dedicated servers are not important for console games , the whole point of a console ( for me any way) is its a simplified gaming exsperance for the sake of convenience.

The Most Important thing for a console game is that you can shove it in the disk try and be playing on-line with friends within 3 minutes and have a good gaming session and for that I will sacrifice depth and graphics , audio quality . ( I also quite like playing well structured games on console with specifc challenges split second was pritty much the perfect console driving game for me interms of how single player was layed out)

having non dedicated servers and using x box match making properly allows this , a complete moron idoit player can pritty mich be garentied to be playing with friends online in under 4 min. and thats one of the reasoins I ike my 360 ill pop it on and have quick bash at a game and u can get quite allot of enjoyment from it

THE issue happens for pc games I will list why its an issue on pc

1) Lag people using pcs often have drastically different ping's especaily if u playing with noobs this can affect game play badly
2) no custom maps and mods / servers that are well managed by admin ( which is very important for pc games)
3) cheeting , IT is allot esear to cheet and far harder if not impossable to boot people that are cheeting

Fundimentaly pcs are a different platform Each game that comes out on a pc is more like a Club and has an associated community around it , and each server has its own community and club like environment. granted all of them are selling the same beer but you will go to specific servers for the spectifc abeance.

This is the thing , a good pc game will last for 8 + years , console games like MW2 are designed around players getting 60-100 hours of game play out of it and then throwing it away.

The biggest issue with pc games is that it can be a total dick getting a game together with friends and you have to be a comparative expert to get a game going with people although steam has made this less of an issue with many games.

ether way due to the nature of pc games and the complexity involved you normally end up with a deeper game play exsperance something more sophisticated , Consoles are like the MacDonalds and pc is like a privetely owned restrant.

having said that you do get games on pc that take the best from console and pc ( track mania for example ) and you also get games on console that can offer a good degree of sophistication.

MY BIGGEST GRIPE WITH CONSOLE GAMES at the moment is the cheek of publishers charging for DLC when the game has such limited content in the first place , a perfect example is with HALO 3 i picke dup a coppy recently as i never owned it myself just played with friends , and u need DLC ( or halo ODST which came out allot latter) in order to play 1/2 of the multilayer exsperance.

I dont mind paying for DLC if it was a fair price , for example a new map for MW2 should cost 35-50p If you bare in mind you pay £3.50 a month for XBox live gold , and they make a substatail profit from that.

Its starting to move to pc , thank fully APB has been a total flop and the developer has fucked themselves by charging a totally absurd price for there game and in game content,

IN SHORT LOL

dedicated servers is pretty much inconsequential for console games
But not having them is terrible for pc games (unless its a very casual game or a specific game that do-sent require dedocated servers 4 player max typ games coop ect. )

The most blatant 'dive' at a boxing match I've ever seen.

UFC 116: Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin

xxovercastxx says...

Generally speaking, the HWs are the least interesting to me, as well. They're the least technical overall. Of course I generally feel the same way about HWs in boxing; lots of hugging and not so much fighting.

The 'good' boxers in MMA are not as good as pure boxers, but I do enjoy watching them do their thing. I wouldn't consider Carwin a 'good' boxer even by MMA standards; he's just a monster.

The best part about this fight was seeing King Hippo Brock Lesnar humbled, even if he did get the W in the end.

As a boxing fan, I can't enjoy heavyweight mma fights. It lacks the presicion and discipline that I'm used to. I'll watch a good boxing match over a the best mma fights any day. That's not to say i'm an mma hater, I just think that boxing has it's own place, and it's a shame that the younger generation has seemed to have forgoten how awesome a sport boxing is:

Great, this argument again.
Explain how being FORCED to stand directly in front of someone as you wing haymakers at each other takes anymore precision or discipline than what you see in mma.
Boxing is to MMA as Firing pin is to Gun.
It's less dynamic, the action is less aesthetically appealing, and it's just as brutal as mma.
No one forgot how awesome boxing was. We all just remember how boring it is.
Brock Lesnar is an awful fighter. That's why you can't stand to watch this fight.
Watch Anderson Silva. Urijah Faber.
If you still think boxing has something on mma you're no doubt a die hard fanboy.
Which is fine.
Just remember to tell your friends at the geriatric ward to refrain from using such a poor argument.

Look I still enjoy boxing as well as mma, but the argument that it's boring is pretty weak. How quickly you forgot about the last ufc in the spring, and this fight only looks marginaly more appealing. I remember hearing all the ufc fans bitching about wasting their money on those matches in the spring because it was a bunch of boring fights. The standup talent isn't anywhere near the level of boxing. Is all i'm going to say and if you can't see that then your not as smart as you would like people to believe, with your pompus arrogant attitude. And the reason they were throwing haymakers was because they had to fight A 10 round match, (something mma athletes are not physiclly capable of)they were completly exhausted but the match was too close for either fighter to sit back and wait for a desicion...if you weren't able to understand that about fighting/boxing then i really don't know why i'm wasting my time, because you don't even know what your talking about. mma is a good sport. I can appreciate all of the disciplines, my favorite fighter is emilionenko-- i'm not spell checking that name--, and my favorite style is sambo, it's far and away the best fighting discipline. My point is mma needs to step up it's standup game it's sloppy. the announcers were getting all excited about grazing uppercuts and slow sloppy jabs, and if kids start thinking that those punches are something to get excited about then were are going to see much more crappy, boring, amateur hour, fights. and lose all of our muhhamad ali's, tysons, aruro gattis, roberto durans, and all the rest of the truly great stand up artists. they will be replaced by 500 lb slabs of meat who can barely lift their arms to throw a punch, ask them to throw 200 punches and theyre fat, meaty heads will explode at the notion that it is possible.

Great this argument again. As a boxer you aren't forced to stand in front of your opponent, you endeavor to flank your opponent. The same way you would endeavor to flank your opponent in MMA.

There is a difference from Prize Fighting and Amateur Boxing. One is point based (like fencing) and one is more for show. Hay-makers in Amateur boxing score the same as jab punches; points are scored based on skill. Knockdowns are key in Prizefighting, and there's money involved.

Prize fighting usually is not a show of skill, more a show of balls out slugging. I'd rather watch two guys go at it with swords and nets. Instead of watching some guys roll around on the floor, or just hammer away at each other.

Every now and then there is someone who makes boxing interesting to watch. Most of them are counter punching defensive fighters. People who can bob, weave, slip, and catch; then counter.

Remember, they're fucking sports. So who gives a shit as long as you enjoy watching two flop-dicks pounding each other.
