Having taken LSD 4 times more than 12 years ago, in a "graduating" manner (ie. my first was 1/4 of a tab, increasing to one regular tab the 2nd time and thereafter), I can say that acid is a pretty wild drug. No two trips were the same, nor were they comparable to what my friends were experiencing, even though we took the same type and were in the same environment.

My first experience was very mellow and I did not "peak." Spent most of the time watching 3D animation and Spike & Mike Festival of Animation videos, etc.

My second started as mellow; however, when I peaked, I had a bad trip. My third was the most intense as we did it out in the forest of a state park near San Diego. I always equate the peak I had there as a "mental orgasm"; that's truly what it was. My fourth and final was at a friends house and was OK, neither too memorable or bad. I could go into detail but don't want to ramble. I should write them up and post them to Erowid when I get a chance...

I'm an advocate of anything that will expand consciousness and allow people to look at things and think in new ways; but you *have* to do research. Know what to expect (...and that was the hardest thing to do with acid), do it in a controlled environment (ie. plan it out. The last thing you want to experience is tripping and having an unwanted knock on the door), and have a sitter present. I'd also recommend a gradual introduction as it can be overwhelming. If given the chance, I don't think I would do it again. The conditions would have to correct, ie. right mindset, controlled environment, etc, etc. And I've got bigger fish to fry at this point in my life.

No one has ever died of an overdose of Salvia and it is probably impossible. Even with pure extracted Salvinorin A, the active chemical (active at doses of 400 micrograms), grams have been given to lab animals without deaths occurring.
Bad trips do happen, but it only lasts a few minutes. During those minutes though, people can be unaware of their movements and might be a danger to themselves if they get up. That's why a sitter is recommended for novices.

Having used Salvia 10x several times successfully over the last several months, let me be the first to say: Respect it. These YouTube videos of kids doing bong loads of the stuff is pure looney tunes. Of course you're going to have a bad trip if you do that much all at once. Even I haven't progressed passed taking 1-2 hits in one sitting.

With all that said, it is truly a pleasant experience depending on how you use it. I have had soft music playing in a dimly lit room and have had some very transcendental experiences. I had one very pleasant trip where I felt like I had regressed back to when I was 2-3 years old, when you are making your first memories.

Other times, I've tried it a few times while playing Quake 3 and BF1942 and all I can say is, you are IN the game. Very wild. Also, tried it once while watching the TV show "The Office" and the mockumentary style lent itself perfectly to it. Made me feel like I was actually at Dunder-Mifflin Scranton branch listening to them scheme on how they were going to screw with Dwight.

But again, RESPECT the Salvia. Cause it will kick your ass.

Well I didn't want to develop a 'relationship' with a plant, lol. I wasn't looking for any spiritual insights or revelations, just insights into a different perspective with my same personal sensory inputs. For me it is just a substance that chemically screws up your brain wiring for a short time, not a life altering voodoo-see god thing. Guess that's why I don't like drugs in general. I don't have a desire to 'ride the snake' or become one with the universe etc.

That said, it was definitely worth the trip. I have a better understanding of what it's like to lose your personal mind control and how complete that can be. For instance, I won't be looking at a mentally retarded person the same way, that's for sure. It gives me more respect for their lack of ability to control themselves. I'll also be more sensitive to someone that may be having a bad trip on something else, if that happens.

i've never tried the stuff, but I wouldn't call this a bad trip. If he were crying and rocking himself in the corner, that would be a bad trip.

If you take the drug after researching it and actualy knowing what will happen and then slowly introduce yourself to it its very hard to have a bad trip unlike other drugs you have a great deal of controle and mental awarenes. i just wish people were responsable. it would be like drinking half a bottle of vodcha the first time u ever had a drink.( with the difrence beeang u cnt actualy die ore overdose on salvea )


ITs not bad at all the biggest problem with salvea is people take it for the wrong resoins. people take it to be all exstreeem ore to see what "affect" it has on them thay allso take realy high dossages for there first time which is not advised. it has to be noted salvea has very few toxins and is actualy remarcably safe allso it is not adictive in anny way. salvea should only be taken by sumone who is very mentaly secure and has a good understanding of themselfs allso it should be taken in a peacfull enviroment with maby just 1 other person who you trust and feal comfortable with ( not sumone who is presuring you )

alvea lets you see the world in a very true fasoin without anny of the assoceatoins that you place on objects throughout your life. allso it helps you see the compleat ironay in everything and for that resoin the drug will often make people laff quite uncontrolably. after the main trip its posable to think about things in a realy intresting way and maby think about things that you wouldent normaly think of.

Grogs got the word on trippin', most bad trips come from bad company, or the sensory overload of a party scene.
