When will this tech progress enough that they can render the effects in real time, using something like Xbox motion tracking to keep track of the dancers/props and have them actually effect the projections in real time, rather than projecting a pre-rendered 'movie' that they try to keep pace with and their place in? It would erase all the lag created when the dancers are 1/4 second off, or 3 inches out of place. That would go a long way towards creating suspension of disbelief for many, and sharpen up the performance immensely. Then we can have things like the bioluminescent forest done on stage with moving objects...like Avatar in theater form.
I love what they do with it, I just want to see it progress...and fast!

You have not upset me, the issue is not of a personal nature.

Your explanation seems earnest, however, your avatar on the cited site is a picture matching that of the individual in a great number of your submissions at the Sift and in those submitted @ YT in the acct from which most of your submissions originate.

Your omission of this fact pattern in your explanation is interesting to say the least.

As to your request for help in the removal of your account, no thank you. It is not my call as to the disposition of your account. Any explanations and/or other issues should most properly be addressed with the admins of the site.

Good luck in any case.

Hey chicchorea,

You're a high-quality Sifter and you do a lot for the community, so if you think I'm harming VideoSift, you don't have to try to ban me, I'll go away willingly. If you don't mind, please tell me how I can delete my account and I'll do so ASAP.

As for having the same username as the guy in the videos on the Angry Birds boards, I tend to get obsessive over things and I have a lot of social anxiety, so I frequently will use the usernames of people I like on other sites (I don't know why, but it makes me feel less anxious about posting). When I started getting into his videos, I probably saw a post of his somewhere else and took his name. I don't know for sure, it's hard to remember three years ago, but posting his videos has been an obsessive tendency of mine for a while now, so it's likely.

I'm not telling you this as an excuse. I'm not trying to get out of anything and I definitely won't be posting on VideoSift anymore, but I just want you to know where I'm coming from since you're a good Sifter.

So, yeah, please tell me how to delete my account (or feel free to pursue banning me with the mods if you prefer - I won't fight it) and I'll take care of that today.

Thanks for all of your contributions to VideoSift and I'm sorry that I've upset you.

I've read a lot of glowing reviews for Titanic, but this is probably the first time I've heard it freed someone from mental slavery.

Say what you will about the plot of Avatar, but James Cameron really knows how to make a movie.

"Stupidity of American Voter," critical to passing Obamacare

dannym3141 says...

Oh lawd... I'm sorry to add another unrelated comment to this video, but this is pretentiousness taken to extremes! I think you mean beyond you. Defeat conceded, good argument @enoch.

On the matter of trolls - there really isn't a troll problem here. You tell me a website with the same number of members and traffic of here that is as civil and well presented as this. We don't even have a massive amount of bad language.. As Sir Meatius of Loafendale said in 1754, on the subject of light and optics, "Objects perceived in the rearward looking reflecting devices may appear to have their sizes increased proportional to their actual location." (Chiroptera Ex Infernus) What he was trying to say is if you've been bugged by someone unfairly recently, it's a big problem to you.

Also, although i saw a lot about siftquisitions, i never really understood them, or had them presented to me in the way of "Hey, come help us decide how the sift will be," kind of thing. So i always avoided it and I may even have been young and annoying 5 years ago, and avoided it to keep my cover. But i'd love to be involved in things like that now, i am part of the community but it's more because i like talking to people. Some of the people i know over the years have given me videos to sift so that i'd keep minimum necessary status, and i got my avatar given to me by someone who made me feel very welcome for my comment contributions. I think any chance for the community to help itself is a good thing, it might get noticed if it's presented that way. And as someone else said, we have changed a lot in 5 years, and i don't just mean the sexy UI. Tell me if there's a poll!

Who knows? Maybe they're right.

The rest of your comment is, frankly, beneath me.

Obesity PSA - Obesity doesn't happen overnight

lucky760 says...

Of course Lucky Charms, like most every other cereal on the market, is horrible for children, but can you clarify? How does my choice of avatar have any relationship, let alone irony, with the parenting decisions I'm making for my children?

I'm not seeing the connection.

It would be ironic... I don't know... if I said I was teaching them to eat healthy by only eating all the oat pieces in a box of Lucky Charms maybe.

bremnet said:

Great reply. Isn't your avatar picture the leprechaun from Frosted Lucky Charms, with something like 35% sugar by weight?

Sorry, could be wrong, not up on my breakfast cereals like I used to be. Just seemed a little ironic...

This is a very effective PSA. It really made me have a visceral reaction at the end.

I'm so happy my kids have never tasted juice or candy or chocolate or ice cream before (and I plan on keeping it that way for a very long time). I really hope that just like the habit of bad eating may be dictated by diet during infancy and toddlerhood, good habits can also be ingrained in our children and help guide their food choices for the rest of their lives.
