Matt Harding: Where The Hell Is Matt? an 'Elaborate Hoax'

ReverendTed says...

The irony is that the dancing video is real, but the REAL Matt was kidnapped before the presentation and replaced by an animatronic Matt created by Adobe to promote their products by claiming Where the Hell is Matt was Photoshopped.

The actors in this piece are so bad, they dont even feel like real people, they feel like badly made animatronics. If they were real people I couldnt possibly identify less with them and their opinions. I cant even understand who this is aimed at. People who think like the people in this ad are so different from me they might aswell just be a whole other species.

Return to Oz - The Wheelers, Tic-Toc, and Mombi

This is a ballsy movie. Love the costumes, makeup and animatronics. The location shooting always bothered me though, even as a 10 year old. Oz movies should be made on elaborate sets in a studio with controlled lighting.

I think less controlled light adds to the somber tone that the Director and DP look to have been aiming for. Things are no longer beautiful, just as the Emerald City no longer shimmers in green. Note especially the end of the film during the party scene, similar to Star Wars, Tic-Toc is polished, everyone is shimmering; more luminescent colors.

You could show that Oz has become a less inviting place without lighting the thing like Italian Spider-Man.

Extinct, my ASS! Dinosaur Loose at LA Natural History Museum

When I was a kid, they had this exhibit called "Dinosaurs Alive!" that had animatronic dinosaurs. I was really excited to see it. It was a terrible disappointment though, just dinosaurs who's necks would move on one plain in a very robotic, jerky motion. It probably cost a ton. Funny that this costume, that's probably just mechanical--the equivalent of Snufflopogus or Big Bird--is several orders of magnitude cooler, probably cheaper too.

I like the cameraman's (I'm assuming) response. "Go on, eat one. Heh heh heh, just one?" I'm also wondering if it's a robot, or just animatronics combined with a person suit. I wouldn't mind having that as a job. I used to pretend I was a carnivorous dinosaur all the time to scare my little sisters, so I got like, lot's of experience and stuff.

Edit: Ohhhhhhhhh....read the comments. Not a robot.
