Robert De Niro Shouts ‘F*ck Trump’ Twice at Tony Awards
Unreal. Imagine the shitstorm if someone had said "Fuck Obama" a few years ago? They'd be slammed and called racist by the media and everyone on social media.
I dont like Trump either but this is ridiculous. Such a shame.

LGR - Unreal 20 Years Later: A Retrospective
I remember when I first played unreal, just watching the castle spin with my voodoofx 3d card was awe inspiring. graphics have come so far since then, but god this was beautiful when it came out.
Unreal Engine - Real-time Raytraced Star Wars
That's unreal!
Coppers amazing affinity with magnets
Love that unreal wrecking ball freeze-frame effect.

QUAKE: Forefather of the Online Deathmatch-LORE in a Minute
I got a 4mb Voodoo 1 passthrough card when they first came out and to this day still think it was the most "holy shit!" game changer I have ever seen. 800x600 using Glide was unreal. I also had a GF 256 and while it certainly smoked the Voodoos in performance, the difference between software rendering and the Glide API was mindblowing.
I had 3DFX then dual Voodoo-2, then geforce 256
Snow Surfing (no bindings)
*quality , that untouched fresh powder is unreal
Unreal Engine's Human CGI is So Real it's Unreal
What this company (snapperstech.com) did is put together an upgraded control "rig" to manipulate facial expressions, taking into account muscle limits and interactions, skin elasticity, etc.
A little more info in the video's YT desc :
-Adaptive rig: which allows combining any number of expressions using optimized list of blendshapes.
-Real facial muscles constraints: the advanced rig logic simulates real facial muscles constraints.
-Advanced skin shader (for Maya and Unreal): holds up to 16 wrinkles maps and 16 dynamic diffuse maps with micro details and pores stretching.
-Easy to manipulate using facial controllers and/or GUI.
-Compatible with all game engines and animation packages.
-Smooth transition between all the expressions.
-Adjustment layer: freeform manipulation of multiple regions of the face to create unlimited variations of the same expression.
The real-time rendering part is achieved by the Unreal engine itself. The final rendering performance still relies mainly on the hardware used.
Yeah, the real-time aspect of it is insanely good, although I'd still like to know how much of the rendering budget it takes up, i.e. is this usable in a game or just a research project at the moment?
What do you mean by "only one modifier is being applied"? Which is my other criticism of the video; a voiceover explaining the tech would have been more interesting than the music.
I don't believe that "multiple modifiers" would make this look better, for the simple reason that if you're demoing a technology like this, you end with ALL the bells and whistles to make it look as good as possible.

This is the tech called Snappers, they have versions for Unreal and Maya.
I've read that Bioware wanted to get it working in the Frostbite engine for Mass Effect Andromeda, but never did. Other games have used it for cutscenes, but I believe they are all pre-rendered.

Fantastic.
Incredible.
Unbelievable.
Unreal.
I think I saw an article a while back that started listing words like this. It's actually more rare to see them used with their original meaning than with their newer metaphorical meaning. I think that's just what happens to language. It's like all our words for stupid. Many of them were technical. Dumb means you couldn't speak. Idiot and moron meant certain low IQ levels. My favorites, because of the current transition, is how the word Retarded is being abandoned and people are now using Autistic (often shortened to Autist). People like to use emphasis in their language. They *real-ly* like to.
To me it's exactly like somebody saying "no exaggeration..." and then exaggerating wildly. Would people not expect to be called on that shit? It is too much like lying! It will turn into an arms race - we'll have to develop other means of saying "literally" when we really mean it and in turn those means will be turned against us until ALL LANGUAGE DIES!!!1
