Trump Media and Technology Group as of late last year has been under investigation for potentially being involved in a Russian money laundering scheme.
Toth Senchal was hemorrhaging money, and had a year wait before their planned (now cancelled) merger, so Trump went begging to Russia.
2 Caribbean banks owned in large part by a Putin ally and Russian oligarch loaned Toth Senchal $8 million…the company’s CFO warned at the time this was Russian money coming from sanctioned Russians and should be returned but they couldn’t afford to give it back so they fired the CFO instead…he’s talking.
This IS a CRIMINAL investigation, with DJT and little Jr both listed as CEO, both signed off on these loans from Putin. Just one more criminal case involving MAGA selling influence to Russia.

Bonus- Georgia criminal grand jury interviews sound disastrous for Trump.
“A lot’s going to come out sooner or later and it’s going to be massive. It’s gonna be massive.”
“If every person in America knew every word of the information we knew, this country would not be divided as it is right now.”
“I became more jaded about American politics when it became clear some witnesses would say one thing about the election under oath then casting doubt on the system when they returned to the campaign trail sometimes hours later.”
Not what you want to hear as a defendant in America’s most massive election fraud ever, the big lie.

The case to rename this famous Christmas plant

I don't think using the notoriously brutal and horrific Aztec society as an alternative base for naming, makes things any better. Looking into the atrocities committed by that society makes the trail of tears look like a Sunday stroll in the park.

It would be better to use the meaning of the Aztec name "flower that grows in residues or soil" or even just make up a new name like "holiday flower" if we really want to clean up the historical associations of things that we like but are uncomfortable with the historical associations.

MAGA Republican Congressman-Elect George Santos caught in even more lies before even being sworn in, he’s in hiding.
Not only did he make up diplomas and work history, claiming to have graduated from and worked at institutions that have never heard of him, not only did he brag about his charity that has no paper trail, no evidence of ever dispersing donations, and never even reported collecting donations (which he almost certainly pocketed, just like Trump did), not only did he forget he’s a criminal fugitive from Brazil where he stole elderly bed bound people’s checkbooks and went on spending sprees before fleeing the country, but he even made up a back story for his grandparents, claiming they were successful Ukrainian Jewish business people who fled the holocaust to Brazil and started over, but records show they were both born in Brazil and never lived in Ukraine.
Every single thing about this man is a lie….he’s so your guy.

Guaranteed Republicans won’t care, won’t investigate, won’t remove him or even punish…truth means nothing to you. Absolutely nothing.

How’s that Tesla investment doing? Down ANOTHER 10% today. Ouch. Sadly PE is still well into the “don’t even think about it” range. Never buy above 25PE, Buffet says don’t buy anything over 15….and NEVER GO ALL IN ON ONE STOCK…..but you know better. Carry on. (Just understand you put all your eggs in one basket AND counted your chickens before they hatched…then someone dropped the basket)

Your bonus- it recently came out that under Trump American life expectancy dropped to the lowest since 96. Hilariously, righty propaganda is trying to ignore the nearing 1.2 million deaths from Covid, 90% of which were preventable with a proper pandemic response according to the CDC, and blame the rise in deaths on the fairly stable number of 100000 deaths from drugs and alcohol per year…because they know your ilk doesn’t understand statistics and will just believe stupid nonsense. So you know, 1.2 million is more than 100000, so has more effect on average lifespans.

Edit: Turns out Santos also isn’t gay. He tried to hide that he was married to a woman until 2019. More MAGA lies.

When Taking Down "Anonymous" Goes Wrong

cloudballoon says...

He wasn't taking down Anonymous, nor could he. Nothing "Goes Wrong" really. In fact, EVERYTHING went right splendidly for Anonymous.

Watching the long trail of vulnerabilities he left behind, he likely couldn't even take down an amatuer teen hacker wannabe if he tried without getting his own ass served on a plate.

The title could be "When an incompetent, arrogant & greedy nincompoop gets his just rewards."

Republicans are perpetrators of near 100% of election fraud….and claim to be the only ones who care about it….what improvements to election systems or increased punishments for those committing vote fraud have they made to curb this anti democracy anti America issue with their party?

*crickets*

A: none, they’ve blocked any legislation proposed to secure elections and made them less secure by installing crazed partisan criminals as clerks who tamper with and steal voting machines making them invalid for use, costing millions and compromising what little election security existed.

Edit: The Republicans ACTUALLY control all three branches in multiple states, but haven’t done a thing to secure the election system (vote ID doesn’t address any of the fraud actually found, eliminating vote by mail might, but for the few (all Republican) fraudulent vote attempts it might stop it disenfranchises exponentially more legal voters…literally millions of legal voters.). No Republican state legislature has put a paper trail in place for electronic voting, nor have they increased the punishment for vote fraud. Why is that Bob?

*crickets*

Democrats have taken steps to curb mass shootings…limiting clip size, ammo purchasing, private gun sales, testing requirements to concealed carry, barring violent felons and violent mentally ill people and (temporarily) people with active restraining orders against them from gun ownership, etc on state levels, the only place Republicans can’t just block any attempted legislation without even reading it first.

California gas goes past $6 dollar

newtboy says...

ONE gas station is over $6…in Beverly Grove, the shopping district of Beverly Hills. The real average is $4.77 statewide.
Another totally dishonest @bobknight33 post. I expect nothing less.

I’m in Humboldt county, the most expensive gas in California regularly by far (except for special hyper expensive stations like Big Sur, Icehouse gas on the Rubicon trail, and the Uber rich one in the post).
…we are barely over $5, just like we were in 2019.

Critical Race Theory: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

luxintenebris jokingly says...

gave this some thought...if teachers can't teach 'uncomfortable' history, then they'd have to steer away from all the Americans that experienced some form of xenophobia, bias, or bigotry during their times...

shortlist;

- Germans
- Italians
- Irish
- Japanese
- Chinese
- Hawaiians
- native Americans
- African Americans

...and more.*

so it's more a wish than honesty.

how can they give an accounting of any president's administration or trials during their terms? trail of tears, teapot dome, watergate, iran-contra...presidents sleeping w/women not their wives - and even one w/their wife but still adulterous.

but if those who don't want to know can do what the rest of the people in my h.s. did: ignore it and squeak by. then they can qualify to be Republicans.

(btw: wasn't "truth matters: not your tears" a popular refrain recently?)

sure. sometimes i don't want to know...but that should be MY choice and not YOUR'S.

The Death Couloir - Mont Blanc

StukaFox says...

Therein lies the problem: most people HUGELY over-estimate their 'Acceptable risk level'.

- "This crumbling cliff edge above a 1,000 foot gorge is the PERFECT place for a selfie!" (one of the saddest deaths in WA was when one of the best skiers in the state decided to look over the edge of a cornice. It gave way and she fell almost a thousand feet to her death.)

- "100f and 0% humidity? What a perfect time to go for a 10 mile, uphill hike with only a can of Coke and some salty beef jerky!"

- "10 essentials? Beer, pot, lighter, cellphone, hat, earbuds, that little map they give you at the visitor center, more beer and is that 10?"

- "I can read a map just fine! This off-trail hike through a rugged part of the park will be breeze!"

- "I can get signal anywhere in this enormous national forest!"

- "Aww! What a cute little baby bear!"

- "Can we get an Uber at the bottom of this ravine?"

- "Let's go swimming! This raging river of snow melt will be the perfect place to cool off!"

etc etc etc

OMG!!
The big investor in Trump’s social media company is a group of Chinese investors from Shanghai that have been repeatedly sanctioned and thrown off the stock market for opening multiple fraudulent companies in America, taking them public, and never actually having a company, no employees, no physical assets.

If you signed up for Trump’s site, expect all your data to be in Chinese hands….you gave it to them. Also know you likely gave up any rights to complain that your identity has been stolen when you signed up.

Who’s owned by the corrupt Chinese again? I know you like to say Biden is, but the paper trail and bribe money paid say something completely different.

So....Has Bob lost his little voice?!

Come on Bob, you're an expert here....you're not going to explain how you don't really have it 100% backwards? You're not going to explain how even though this is your education and career, the one topic you think you know, you think you HEAR the beat first, weeks before you SEE it, even though all literature (including the instructions on Doppler machines) says it can be seen as a near microscopic twitch at 6 weeks+- and only heard after 12-20 weeks with special dopler listening equipment?

I've never seen you admit a mistake, so I expect to not hear from you for days, then on a different topic, hoping this thread fades into obscurity. What a sad way to live. Very Trumpy. Scream to the high heavens that you're right, you're experienced, that all the other Slim Shadys are just imitating, then when proven wrong again, move on to the next outrageous claim and never, ever look back at your trail of failed ploys and plots, never admit you were mistaken, and accuse anyone bringing it up of changing the current subject...which is exactly what you're doing, changing the subject to avoid admitting you're w-w-w-wrong.

NYC's Anti-Vax Rally in 49 Seconds

luxintenebris says...

yes, that is all too true. can be very successful yet be oblivious to the realities around them.

- remember an interview w/Ted Turner, while he was on top in the cable world (CNN was king). when speaking about business matters; very insightful. But when the questions about current affairs came around; he gave his opinion then changed it or said IDK anytime the interview offered a counterpoint.

- in an interview w/Colin Powell, as Sec of State, when the interviewer tried to corner him on how, looking at his GPA in HS and college, he ever made it to a 4-star general? all Colin would do was smile and say (something like) "It's good to be American. It offers many great opportunities to many people." That line of questioning ending in both parties smiling and chuckling.

- had to show our valedictorian how to put air into a tire. watching them struggle was hilarious but made one empathic.

also the belief anyone can become the president of the U.S.A. is both inspiring and terrifying. (as we all know now)

****

seeing this video, and the truth of the above sentence is a reason why education should become one of the top three, if not top, priorities, and quests of this nation. paired w/a universal form of national service* should provide all citizens will the skills to perceive wtf is actually going on.

*a former military serviceman, back from Iraq, noticed that Congress has far fewer former service members in their ranks since the early '80s. he noted in the military there are many ilks of service personnel, but they all work toward one goal. they have to - or they fail. reading this, have to believe - like Bush, Sr and Clinton both agreed on - that all Americans should put in some form of national service . since it'd foster a better understanding of other Americans: how they lived, how they were raised, their beliefs, the challenges they must face...i.e. see more than what's outside your 'bubble'.

this idea and a couple of other GREAT bipartisan ideas have waned since 9/11 but it'd be a hell of a fix.

White people are dumb and need to be less white

luxintenebris jokingly says...

who knows? if it's old enough, it's a trail of reference sources. sure, Lucius Annaeus Seneca (Seneca the Younger) is credited as the source but maybe Twain quoted him, w/o citing the source, orally and anyone listening might (first time hearing it) believe it's his baby.*

true story: once had a friend that decided that they were changing their operatus morandi. repurpose the direction of their life. even came up w/a a personal motto that all us - family and friends - were to hold her to it.

"just do it!"

the next week the Nike ads began.

leave it to y'all to imagine what we did w/that.

Valedictorian Gives Unapproved Speech on Abortion Rights

addressing the 🦜 🦜 comments;

how does a 'drug slogan' or being 'unthankfully deaf' solve anything? sanctimonious slobber.

-do they believe the GOP really gives a squirt? it's been long known, admitted, and used to get the base riled.
-did the orange menace use a condom when he was raw dogging a porn star?
-did gaetz when he ganged a 17 y.o.?

they have to know the answer. 💯 but will even admit to 51%?

it's like the joke of 'um' gow' wah'. Republican senator visits a foreign land. he gives a stirring speech and it's interpreted for the non-English speaking crowd. as he thunders his speech, rife w/conservative 'ideals', he stops at every 'pause for applause' section, in turn, the crowd erupts with "UM-GOW-WAH!" the senator leaves the stage, pleased that even the rabble of third-world-ers can appreciate the values of conservatism.

as he crosses to depart on a waiting helicopter, he has to walk through the natives' pastureland (the only space larger enough for the aircraft) the local ambassadors urge him to "be careful! don't step in the um' cow' wah'!

'live w/your decision' and 'advocating for murder'?

UM-GOW-WAH!

honestly. with big daddy and father allears, what's the point? gomers on a high horse, but they're riding it backward. both blind to what they are leaving on the trail.
