Who is your favorite long-lost sifter? (Sift Talk Post)
Isn't Uhohzombies still around?
There were some members who vanished right about when I joined - coincidence? - and some who were already gone before I came here.
I miss MLX, because she was such a diligent sifter until Zifnab soared by.
Fedquip has also been on/off for a while.
Michie left when I was just starting up, if I remember correctly.
Rembar, I fucking miss Rembar.
Tofumar was a loss too, even if I think he left partially because of me (not entirely sure why, though).
Ladybug, our resident nurse, would have been great to have around too.
Raven was a good voice too.
Critttter was way cool, but she was not around for long.
There are others, names, images lost like smoke in the fog and like tears in the rain.
Who is your favorite long-lost sifter? (Sift Talk Post)
Tofumar, dystopianfuturetoday, alien_concept and siftbot.
Who is your favorite long-lost sifter? (Sift Talk Post)
Among the ones that weren't mentioned yet I can name Bakalex and ObsidianFire+karkarlee.
And, of course, there's benjee, mlx, raven, tofumar, michie and thesnipe. And probably someone else I forgot. It's a shame, but there really have been too many partings and leavings
But
godeverybody knows I don't miss choggie.I was happy to see looris hasn't left, though. He's very close to a 100 now, too.
Who is your favorite long-lost sifter? (Sift Talk Post)
Raven, Gwaan, Benjee, Rickegee, NickyP, LadyBug, Tofumar, Snoozedoctor, MLX and many more.
Who is your favorite long-lost sifter? (Sift Talk Post)
I also miss critttter and uhohzombies, as well as raven, along with CaptWillard, snoozedoctor, tofumar, thesnipe, and mlx. I know I'm forgetting some others right now (cue Auld Lang Syne), but I value the time I shared with them here.
This place is like a large extended family to me. It's big, but not so big that it's impersonal, like Digg or what have you. And just like any large extended family, there are some members we love, and others that we're not so fond of. Just the same, they've all given this place its unique character.
And that character does change over time, mind you. It's inevitable, whether you like it or not. That's just the way things work in life. We have many new members that I value too, and I'm not willing to say that they are less important just because they haven't been here as long. New blood brings vitality, and helps to refresh this place.
Still, I wish some of my old friends were here too.

Bach - Cello Suite No. 1 Prelude
>> ^Tofumar:
I love this performance. Oh, and if you go to youtube and look at the comments on this video, you'll get a nice example of what was parodied here on the other vid a few days ago: lots of people who probably can't even play cello critiquing this guy's interpretation.
lol you don't have to play a particular instrument to criticize a performance played on it, as long as you're not criticizing his technique but his interpretation. I do not like this guy's interpretation, it feels too fiddly, too fast, he emphasizes notes in weird places and he speeds up/slows down too fast and too much at once. But on the other hand, I love Phoebe Carrai's interpretation. Whatever if this Maisky is celebrated and won prizes, I don't care. Carrai's interpretation is better to my ear that his (she played for 10 years with a german historical ensemble devoted to 17th and 18th century music and it shows).
Tomahawk - God hates a coward
>> ^Tofumar:
I saw these guys open for Tool in Tulsa. It was the worst show I'd ever seen. They almost got booed offstage. Tool was awesome, though.
I likewise saw them open for Tool, except in Cincinnati. They did get booed off stage here.

Gold stars are better looking than bronze crowns any day. (Sift Talk Post)
Well, first of all, I'd like to thank my mother, my dad, my wife, who's been supportive in this venture, my friends, all the fansTHANK YOU FOLKS! This congratulatory celebration overwhelms my humble persona. I'm speechless.
Well, no, not really, rather the opposite. Let's bring out the champagne, the coke, the balloons and the clowns! It's a gold-star party and the snobbish elitist diamonds are not invited! We won't let them drop no eaves on our plans to take over the Sift!
Seriously - I've now joined the fantastic crowd of thegrimsleeper, spoco2, evil_disco_man, yoghurt, Raigen, Leakroth, berticus, Lurch, Zeph, Fletch, NordlichReiter, Tofumar, Thylan, Bakalex, doogle, lavoll... and the list goes on. I mean, there was talk of the Sift going in the wrong direction a while back, but with the recent developments I don't think there are many left to assert that anymore. It's great to see the Sift in its current spectacular awesomeness still bolstering the numbers of great personalities and entertainment-providers, and I'm quite proud to be a part of that crowd. Thank you everyone for being yourselves (=great people), it's what drew me in.
How to Direct Traffic in Iraq
>> ^Tofumar:
Hmm...not sure how I feel about this. I definitely don't think it's comedy.
It's say it's dark comedy, something soldiers would laugh about uncomfortably. It looks like it was necessary to redirect traffic for someone else's safety.
"Between the Bars"
half *dupe of Tofumar, but he don't need it no more.

Sacha Baron Cohen Shocks Sensibilities of Kansas Airport
>> ^thinker247:
Apparently the commotion caused by two men gyrating in hot pants disturbed the airport patrons so much that they fled, screaming, into the local church for prayer and guidance. This naturally could have disrupted the Easter play being run, but luckily the fleeing mob was stopped by a roaming televangelist who stole their wallets and ran off, never to be heard from again. And that's the story of Jesus! Amen.
tofumar? is that you? he's ALIVE!!!
