It doesn't surprise me, unfortunately. Even YouTube appears to be blocking some videos on a regional basis that are posted by corporate giants like Time Warner and Universal Music Group. I hope this isn't the future of internet video, because that would really hurt this site.

You'll notice none of the networks were CNN... hmmm So at least one of them haven't gone to the dark side.

I hate to break it to you arsenault185 but CNN is owned by Time Warner, was bought from Ted Turner in the 90's when Clinton signed the last big consolidation bill though he still works there, and yes, they were included and deservedly so. The same Time Warner that has been pushing the music industry into its current State, the same Time Warner that owns Road Runner cable among others and has been trying to consolidate the internet under corporate control, and the same one that showcases such O'Reilly wannabes such as Beck.

It's actually one of the more aggressive corps at trying to push their own agenda at the public expense, I wouldn't put it more than a hair above News Corp myself and not a lot more reliable.

I agree, I don't think most of the alternatives they presented were any good. But I think the intention was more to give people a sense of just how much money that really is, by putting it in terms we can more easily understand. For me that really worked.

We can all feel what the cost of a Wii is, and then to extend that to two Wii's for every person on the planet under 15 is really mindblowing. Or the fact that you could buy out Google, Microsoft, WalMart, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Time Warner AND Apple, and still have $23 billion in change.

That's a lot of money.

By 1970 there were over 1600 CFR members and in 1972 the Trilateral Commission was formed by Rockefeller (Chairman of the CFR). The CFR and the Trilateral Commission are not US Government created entities. The Council's first recruitment of a future president occurred in 1950 with Eisenhower. It also seems that Reagan was thinking along similar lines to Jimmy Carter when he gave his pre-election promise to avoid "insiders" when selecting his cabinet. Of the 59 people Reagan appointed for the team, 29 were members of the CFR, ten were Bilderbergers, and astonishingly, ten were from the dreaded Trilateral Commission. With George H.W. Bush as his Vice Presidential running mate, Reagan was not about to make the CFR or the Trilateral Commission or any other secret group into a campaign issue.

One is Thom Burnett (One of Britain's leading experts on security and military affairs. He served with UK Special Forces in the 90's and has been undertaking postgraduate research in Conspiracy Theory and Military Intelligence. The other author is Alex Games - Author and journalist for the London Evening Standard, UK's Financial Times, Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph, Guardian and Independent on Sunday).

The book is called: "Who Really Runs the World?: The war between globalization and democracy". Pages 100-120 descibe many details about the CFR's history from inception to today.

I think they will pull some of it, but my guess is that they will concentrate on Universal. They have signed an agreement with Time Warner to promote Time Warner's artists. They are going to be sharing advertising revenue with Time Warner. I think Time Warner owns like 60% of the media market in the world. So at the very least that should help mitigate some of the impact. I see this as a REALLY stupid move by Universal, but who knows maybe they are in talks with Google or Yahoo video.
