On a road racing bike, how does he does these stunts?

Retroboy says...

It's amazing that despite all the amazing precision, the part that sticks out most for me is him driving over that arc thingie. I honestly might be able to do that myself with a thousand attempts, a safety harness and a crane, but for some reason it sticks out.

Have to agree with andyboy that the editing could have used some work. It seemed more than half about "let's do a quick stunt at this scenic location and then pop to somewhere else" than "let's explore the skills of the rider". This was just a taste of how ample and numerous those skills are.

How I Became The Bomb - Ulay, Oh | Music Video

A Chameleon Like No Other

Sagemind says...

I'm watching this, and I'm thinking to myself, how strange it is, that I've never noticed how much the legs of a Chameleon look exactly like the arms of people, that it looked almost like a man in a costume.

Then the thingy on his head moved and then they were feet, and I was like, oh, didn't see it, even though my subconscious did.

Is it Ironic, that people can hide by changing their colours to look like a Chameleon?

why is my video getting buried (Sift Talk Post)

Is there a defect with the mechanism?
-No there is not

1). The Sift IS failing to indicate additional pages, I've noticed this quite a bit lately.
-No thats not true. It does but the last page is not a page number but an arrow thingy.

2). I've also noticed that the sift pages can't decide if they want to use the new format or the old one. I seem to get them both randomly on each page - no pattern that I've noticed. This tends to confuse how we are seeing things.
-NO, it works as intended. New format when viewing individual videos. All other pages old style. Also you can opt out of new format if you would like(bottom of the page)

3). The information that used to be at the bottom of the page, which indicated who has up-voted or down-voted is missing. We can no longer tell who has voted in which direction.
-Newt answered above.

Should videosift allow images in comments? (User Poll by oritteropo)

MilkmanDan says...

I'm pretty neutral on this one, although I tend to shy on the "negatives outweigh the positives" side. I've put a link to images in comments before, and that serves well enough to make a truly relevant image available (or to capitalize on someone else's wit with a "relevant" imgur meme thingy).

But, a lot of good ideas here about how the negatives could be mitigated. So I guess that it could be OK, as long as the people doing the mitigating would be fine with the potential extra workload.

Ridiculously Overpacked Battery Charger

My favourite was one largely unbreakable tiny item in a big box filled with soft foam thingies. I even had those plastic straps around the box to keep it all tight and secure? The item cost me $7 and postage was free.

Hard Not To Like WWE Wrestling After This

Yogi says...

Not always, Cena has done more Make a Wish granting thingies than anyone and they're not all known about or shown. They aren't featured on the shows barely at all, and most people don't even know that that is what Cena does.

So while marketing does have a purpose here and there's reasons for it, it's not like it isn't something nice to do and it's not like it's the sole reason.

Wrestling fans are a lot smarter than you think, for instance I'm a wrestling fan and I'm much, much smarter than you.

This is marketing and it's not surprising that wrestling fans can't see through it. Not that it's not nice. But the reason they do such nice things is that they are seen doing them.

Girl Banned from School for Supporting Friend with Cancer

Sniper007 says...

Cannabis is the closest thing I've seen to a silver bullet "cure" type thingy. But pretty much every edible plant (sans chemical agents) is going to combat cancer in one way or another. Going full raw vegan is a good start. Your body's alkalinity will also need to stay above 7.0. This will happen by itself with a good diet. Then there's your thought life, your stress levels, and on and on.

Chemotherapy is indeed horrific, but I'm curious as to what you would promote instead of it?

Also, this is a complete non-story. School has stupid rule, school overturns rule when stupidity is pointed out. The commentary after that is pointless.

Worst Videogame Product Placement Yet (Alan Wake)

Vic2Point0 says...

I disagree 100%, this was one of the BEST product placements ever in a video game! You're just not getting the subtle humor. To me, it was very obvious. First, take note of the fact that they were inarguably wanting to make this game feel a bit like a television series. This is made most evident by the way they ended and began each episode (not to mention the fact that they called them "episodes" to begin with), but also by the cinematics in battle, the independent camera controls that let you see what was behind Wake as he was running forward, the narration, the fact that all the manuscripts had to appear on screen with the author's voice reading it aloud- erm, I think I made my point there.

So what would a television series do, naturally, at a moment like this? Why, GO TO A COMMERCIAL BREAK, OF COURSE! That's why this TV was in the break room. Commercials? Break room? You get it now?

However, I wouldn't even agree that this did any noteworthy damage to the tension. Because, arguably, the most "scary" part was over. At this point, all you had to do was get by that chandelier ball thingy and you're outside with Barry Wheeler, comic relief! I thought it was brilliant.

The Best DJ in the World...wait for it

chingalera says...

Ok-If you look closely, there's a black unit sticking-out from the right side of the back of the unconnected mixer-Looks like he's got that un-plugged mixer blocking the one he's using. I think yer right.
Why would anyone fake being a party DJ atta Mexican fiesta??

Oh and, DJ's react to the music while they tweak it....it's part of their cult-of-personality thingy tied into the whole performance aspect of making 'new' music. Dubstep DJ's for example, consider themselves artists and performers. They usually have egos large enough so that they don't have to wait for fans or critiques to suggest or ascertain this either....lotta douchebag in the DJ industry.

RFlagg said:

I'm wondering if what he's messing around with is possibly in front of the unit that has no wires going to it. There are some wires on the right hand side of it between it and the laptop like device that one of them seems to go to, the other I can't tell, either goes to a microphone of a block to the side. The angle makes it hard to tell for sure, either way it looks like he's more reacting to the music than controlling it.
