Think twice before you rumble with a man of god
Theology aside, Carman really doesn't seem to have a good understanding of Freddie Kruger's behavior and overall style. He (Kruger) generally tries to hide the fact that you are having a dream in the first place, to give himself the tactical advantage of surprise. Never, NEVER, would Freddie Kruger own a house or answer a door for that matter, and if for some reason he DID need a residence for some kind of nightmare-related business, it certainly wouldn't be an ooky-spookie halloweenie haunted house; it would be something subtle, like a shack or a boiler room break area. Freddie was all about surprise.
I'm sorry to say it, but if Carman had gone up against Freddie Kruger, he would not have stood the slightest chance of surviving. Freddie was very good at using the pomposity and vainglory of his victims to great advantage. Half way through this video, it would have been BAM... squashed under an avalanche of Bibles.. or.. glug, glug, glug, Carmen drowns in a vat of holy water.... It would have been something ironic, because that's how Freddie rolls.
Carman basically just beat up some old goth poser, with no real magical abilities.
Sarah Palin and the prince of eeeeeeh, hmm...
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

C-130 Angel Wing Flare Pattern
>> ^dystopianfuturetoday:
The smoke looks like the Grim Reaper.
Totally! And "Angel" pattern? More like Angel of Death. [insert anti-war, anti-Republican, hooray anarchy rant]

For the record: There's a difference between a C-130, and an AC-130.
A C-130 "Hercules" is just a regular troop/supply transport, whereas an AC-130 "Spooky" is flying gunship.
There doesn't seem to be any visible guns, so I'm going to wager a guess that this is just a C-130
It's a cargo ship...

Rebekah Del Rio - Llorando (Mulholland Drive)
True Story:
I did sound for a party at the very theater where that scene was shot (it hadn't been used for anything in years and was spooky and dilapidated like the Addams family mansion). Ms. Del Rio showed up and did a surprise reprise of that song.
Gary Wright - Dream Weaver
Does anyone remember Spooky Tooth?
Wonder if he's still in SRF?
Jokes I like (Blog Entry by dag)
I used to tell this one joke that was super long, and the whole point was for it to be super long and tedious, and then the punchline didn't make any sense.
It was about a girl with a golden screw in her bellybutton, and the whole joke is the father trying to get it out, so he tries himself, then he goes to a doctor, and the doctor sends him to a specialist, and so on... At the very end of the story the girl is atop mountain in a Tibetan temple where a special medicine man was able to remove the screw using ancient magic. And then you lean in and with your spooky voice you say, "the girl then sat up and said... COOL. Thanks!" End of joke.
It can be a twenty minute joke. All the while your friends are bored, and they will try to stop you, but you have to tell them, "wait, I'm getting to the good part." And there is no good part. And I wonder why I have no friends. There's an alternate version of this joke: when the screw is removed, the girl or boy's butt falls off. Not nearly as good. Not nearly as satisfying as my version.
The Census Is Getting Personal
The census worker asked me none of these questions.
I really like the spooky voice he uses to scare people.
video of a REAL ghost NOT fake!
As always, for some reason all ghosts only show up at night, in spooky basements and the only way to film them is to use night vision.
Rubbish.

I'm not a psychologist. But when you get a large group of people together in a place that has already been primed to be spooky, then the effect is enhanced by their being a collective.
I would assume any evidence they find cannot be used as proof of anything, given that their states of mind is suspect.

Priming is like this, if I tell you that the following made up word is anaslex and not analsex you might read it analsex several times before you actually realize that the word is really anaslex.
Of course there are some of you out there who may only see one word, whether it's anaslex or analsex. What does that mean? The brain cannot be trusted.

Zero Punctuation: Alan Wake
>> ^blankfist:
I can never tell if the game is any good after watching these reviews.
He's pretty spot on in his summary towards the end. Good atmosphere, pretty, nice spooky forest effect. On the other hand; terrible combat, terrible dialogue, mediocre plot, mediocre voice acting.
Usually we put up with b-movieish acting and story in games because the actual "game" part overshadows and makes up for it. Here the story is the focus, so it can't get away with sucking this badly. Worst of all, it's a "horror" game that is never willing to be scary or disturbing. (likely since they went for a "Teen" rating)
Ballad of the Monster Manual
No kidding, I saw the link to this video as I was reading my monster manuals first pages. Spooky.
Psychic Mega Fail
Spooky... it's like, he sees beyond the audience, to the beyond... and beyond...
